Rie, I've seen this on other threads and am happy to see you integrate into yours!
Where are you from and where do you live now?
I'm originally from Nebraska but have lived in Northern California since 1997. Despite the roots I've put down here, I am, and will always be, a Midwesterner.
How old are you?
What do you do for a living?
I have a Ph.D. in Performance Studies but realized around year five that I wanted a career that was more student centered and not tied to a stringent publish or perish timeline. In the last years of my studies I switched my career focus and am now a Student Affairs professional on a major Research I university campus.
What's your favourite thing about summer?
Longer days
Sleeping with the windows open
Slower and more casual campus atmosphere
Seeing a movie on the hottest summer days in a cool, darkened movie theatre
Any vacations planned for summer?
I'm planning on taking vacation days after the academic year ends and begins but no real plan for the time off. Admittedly, I struggle with vacation time because the work still piles up while I'm away and I feel like I have to be there to deal with it. It's completely unhealthy!
Favourite food to eat in summer?
Watermelon
Ice cream
Fresh salads with just the right ingredients
Favourite drink to drink in summer?
Ice cold flavored--not sugared--water
Arnold Palmer's
What's your food plan?
What's your fitness plan?
No dedicated plan as of yet, but I walk, run and have a gym membership
What are your hobbies?
Reading
Cooking
News junkie
Napping when I get the chance
Watching mindless television
List 3 things you like about yourself
Excellent listener
I'm a quick wit and due to it, can connect with almost anyone
View life through a wide lens (life's a marathon, not a sprint)
Loyal (though if you're involved in something illegal and/hurts someone else, you're on your own)
Okay, that's four...I'm a rule breaker

Good start for me this week, down 5.4. First week is always good like that though. I think for the most part I am making good choices regarding food; being thoughtful, which I think is what it will take. I am slowly ramping up the activity. I love to lift weights, but I need to mix cardio and weights this time more balanced because I tend to put on muscle very easily, and slack on my eating plans.

Welcome newcomers, congrats on the weight lost so far and great seeing more people filling out the get-to-know-you form!!
Quick announcement! I've decided to remove the forum column in the spreadsheet and will now only be making a chart for everyone involved in the challenge. If this disappoints you I'm truly sorry, but this will save a lot of time for me in the future when making charts/badges. I hope you'll consider this even more motivation to get into the overall charts week by week!
As for me, day one is going well so far. I've just done my first T25 workout (Cardio) and boy it was a killer. Can't believe I sweat so much in just 25 minutes. Feeling positive about keeping this up since it's very doable to fit into my schedule, especially since it's rainy outside right now! I'm about to note down my measurements and I might even take some before pictures.

Checking in for Week #1! Only down 2.8 lbs for this first week, so not as high as some of you, but still a solid start in general. I've just gotten over a little plateau stall, so I am just happy it is starting to move again...lol. Good job and welcome to everyone checking in so far!

Riestrella: I live down in Columbus, so not far from you at all! As for work, it will depend on the job market in Arizona (which is where we're moving in a little over a month and will be staying for the next few years), but I have contemplated going back to work on/finishing up my abandoned Psychology degree path to work in the social services sector with kids or possibly switching gears to go into nursing. And, I don't mind the removal of the forum segregation on the charts...whatever saves you some time while tackling all of this is all good to me!
workinglikeadog: I think I will. If nothing else, I may try an instructional video course to see if it's something I could keep up with before venturing further into it. I am so shy that it would be breaking a lot of comfort zone boundaries to do it with other people until I feel more confident, but I suppose that is part of the thrill of learning something new! How did you first get into it when you learned it in the past?
I.wanna.be.cute, DayDreamer26:, & shea5: Wow -- awesome losses, you guys!!
Rie, that T25 sounds awesome! Good job on getting it done and fitting it in your day. I really need to look into that. I wish I could get back my love for exercise that came out of nowhere in November and is now nowhere to be found...
I'm super new to the forum, so fingers crossed it's ok if I join you girlies with this challenge? It looks super awesome

Rie, I like it better without the forum column, I even changed the forum column since this place is more active than 20-something. And even better if it helps you to save time. No problem ^u^
