Hi Everyone! Hope you all had a great week. By the looks of the chart, it looks like you guys are all super motivated!
I dropped off the Insulin Resistance diet about as fast as I got on it..Just too many carbs for me, I guess. I started the Primal Blueprint last Monday, and have drop almost 4 pounds already, so it's a much better fit for me. Even if it is just water weight, it's nice to see the scale numbers drop!

Have a fabulous week, and I'll check in with you later in the week!

Chunk -- Great news. For me, the 30 BMI is pretty spot on for the difference I have felt between feeling overweight and feeling too big for my bones to be carrying around. I hope you are feeling well, too.

Welcome MinervaMoo.!

Mimi - I hope your new WOE works well for you.

Hi, everyone!

I'm about 3 weeks late but would love to join the challenge since I'm in need of some serious motivation. I've gained about 20lbs recently due to being sedentary and would like to lose those extra pounds plus 10 more. I'm currently sitting at 145.2 and am 5'3". I just signed up for a half marathon on 10/30 so dropping the extra weight would definitely help. At the end of the challenge, I would like to be at 138 lbs. looking forward to speaking to everyone soon

I noticed something similar! Are you me?? ;) For me, the change in how I felt came a couple of pounds before the official shift to being under 30. It was close enough though that I started to think, hmm, maybe there is something to this measurement after all. I know it's nonsense for people who are muscular, but I'm not, so for me it seems pretty fair. I'm short, only 4'11. I think for people on the shorter side it skews a little too strict in the recommended weights, just by a few pounds though. That's my experience with it, at least. I've spent most of my life in the "normal" range. I remember that when I'm at the weight it considers early "overweight," I don't really feel overweight. It takes a few more pounds before I do.

Munchey - That's interesting that rice's absorbed calories can be reduced like that. I'd never heard that before. I'd like to give it a try. I'm sorry about the depression and anxiety you feel due to SAD. I know the type that your sister sounds like. I'm sorry life didn't give you a better one! My mom had a sister like yours. :shudders: Congrats on how well you've been doing in this challenge! We're right next to each other on the chart. :D I'm happy to be in your company!

Congrats to everyone for their accomplishments this last week. Hope things go well for the new week.

I got in 6.5 miles today. I had to get some work done on my car, so I dropped it off and walked back home. I, then, had to reverse course and walk back to get it. It forced me to get in more mileage than I would have otherwise. I have to say I'm much rather walk in the park, but sometimes you just have to work exercise opportunities into necessities.

Chunkahlunkah: Thanks for your support. Nice to be next to you on the chart!

Good morning everyone, I hope you're all having a great day so far.
I did ok yesterday as far as food goes although I did have a meal with my boyfriend at midnight (he's a late eater and I wanted to keep him company). This is a common thing that I feel is impeding my weight loss journey. I think I should fix my habit during the day so I can reserve those calories for night time. As far as exercise goes, I didn't do anything yesterday. I do have a 4 mile run scheduled today and hopefully I'll have time for it since I have a lot of school work to get through (exams are coming). I'll try to be good today with my eating so I can have something positive to report back later :D

Hey everyone,

quick update. So yesterday I weighed in at 146.lbs which is my highest in about 4 years. That kind of scared me so I ate better yesterday. I also got a run in in between my classes. I didn't run today but I did walk on the treadmill while study. It was slow but I got 4 miles in. If the boyfriend goes to the gym later, I might go with him again to walk and study on the treadmill. My food intake has also been good today with the exception of a few pieces of chocolate given to me by classmates. That's all for now. I'll be back with another update soon. Hopefully the positive changes will reflect itself on the scale on monday

Hope everyone is doing well this week and is ready to have a great weekend! Good luck with you weekly weigh-ins!

I was standing in line at the supermarket and saw a magazine that said "lose 70 pounds in 56 days". Sigh, if it were only that easy. I didn't bother to read it. Too good to be true (especially for the long run).

I'm going to make some soup, on either Saturday or Sunday. I love soup, as it tends to fill me up. I cooked up some turkey burger patties yesterday, and have one left over for lunch today. I like to make a skinny burger. I use Orowheat Thins as the bun and add pickles, tomatoes and red onions (put what you want on the bun. I use mustard and a little ketchup). It's handy to cook a couple of patties in advance, as I just need to reheat a patty in the microwave and take a Orowheat Thin out of the freezer.

I'd better make the soup before the veggies freeze up in the refrigerator. I'm having a problem with the refrigerator acting like a freezer. Guess it's another thing that I need to get repaired :(

CHUB:
Good job on getting in the exercise. You can do this!

Maybe you could try to get your boyfriend to eat earlier. Is there some reason why he likes to eat so late? Does he maybe have a job where he works 2nd shift, or is he just a night owl? Generally calories in versus calories out is the most important, but there can be a downside in eating too late.

I hope everyone's week is going well and that all have a great weekend! Keep at it Chub and I hope you met some of your goals this week.

I continue to suffer from this crazy respiratory ailment and have now developed a hives type of RASH :?: which is most likely a delayed antibiotic allergy. So, add that to my medical history now! Uggg. I have been sick since mid August! Very frustrating.

Nightowlrn:
Sorry you are still suffering from a respiratory ailment and for the allergic reaction. If you take an antihistimine as soon a possible after you notice the rash, you can possibly get rid of the rash/hives sooner.

Nightowlrn 09-24-2016 12:51 PM

:smug: Thanks Munchey. I have been taking Benadryl for the hives and ibuprofen (anti-inflammatory effects) is helping with the cough. (note the RN at the end of my name)

Night Owl RN:
I hadn't figured out your name. Thanks for enlightening me. Interesting how we can look at aliases and see things differently (especially with lower case letters). Now that you mention it, I can see that you are an RN who likely works the night shift. The word "tow" seemed to jump out at me, but not owl and rn.
