Workinglikeadog - I know what you mean when you say you comfort with food. That is something I have been working on too and I try to tell myself that I will feel worse if I eat because of my emotions and so far it has been helping. I am following the new Weightwatcher's smart points plan. Basically it is healthy eating and I did cut out sugar in January and don't eat processed foods. I also joined the 1000 miles in 2016 challenge which really helps to keep me moving. I find I have to do both - the exercise and proper eating. Just doing one of those things does not work that great for me. The smaller weight loss challenges, like the 2%, 5 lb challenge and exercise challenges help to keep me motivated and having these smaller goals along the way is very helpful.
