so I did something stupid, I bought ice cream in the house. Its one of those thing I don't do well with. I have had reasonable portions, but I don't really want to eat ice cream everyday, and there is the potential for that. So 21 days no ice cream I'll start tomorrow..

wendybirdx 01-31-2016 04:36 PM

Ohh man I totally forgot and had swiss lemonade yesterday D:
honestly though I was a couple days in so it's easier for me to just start over and forget the initial slip up hah

So Day 1 of no sweets/added sugars is done! (which was today)

SeeMyFeet 02-01-2016 09:45 AM

Day 1, again, diddit. Counting today as a success, 'cause I KNOW I'll be going to bed early today!

Dr Geri 02-01-2016 10:23 PM

I'm back ready to fight through another challenge. It's back to No Sweets until I can beat this. Three pause days.

Day 1--Monday, February 1: No sweets

It is energizing to read of everyone's challenges. Go, go, go!

wendybirdx 02-03-2016 09:40 AM

Way to go, SeeMyFeet! :DD What a cute picture, too haha I love Mumbo!
Right there with you, Dr Geri (only a day before haha). Let's do this!

No sweets for 21 days!
1: 31/01 done
2: 01/02 done
3: 02/02 done
4: 03/02 today!

I did notice that, at the supermarket (on day 2 only!), I was already double taking the sweets section and kinda staring. This is not going to be easy haha but I figured that, if I'm so fixated on sweets, that's why I really need to hang on!
I'm going to be part of the staff at a camp from the 5th to the 11th, and I have a feeling that will be particularly difficult because they give us free canteen credits (separate from the given meals) to buy ice cream, candy, soda, etc. I can already picture myself screaming internally as my friends grab FREE ice cream on a hot day and whatnot haha but I am determined to get through it! I'll probably have a lot of gum prepared since a) I'll be chewing on something and b) mint and chocolate is a terrible combination for me, so I won't be able to chow down anything with the mint flavor in my mouth :P But hey, wish me luck!

Obsidianbbw 02-03-2016 10:22 AM

Wendy good luck at the camp, I might have to try the gum trick when I visit my parents this weekend.

No ice cream challenge 2 pause days.

Day 3, ice cream has stayed safely in the freezer. My other issue, and there is no challenge for this, is visiting my parents where I consistently gain 5lbs every time I visit. UGH.

New challenge on Monday. Hope everyone is doing well.

skinnyme2 02-03-2016 10:18 PM

So let me see if I understand this. pick a challenge, do it for 21 days with 3 possible pause days. Is that correct?

skinnyme2 02-03-2016 10:19 PM

I think I will start with drink more water

wendybirdx 02-04-2016 10:08 AM

Thanks Obsidianbbw! Something that also has been helping me with sweets (and honestly keeping me from attacking any form of chocolate after lunch everyday haha) is finding something small and sweet to chew on. I particularly like raisins and melon slices. c:

Actually you can pick the amount of pause days! Usually, you determine this by how difficult the challenge is. So if something seems pretty easy, you might even try no pause days. If it's a little harder, one or two might do. If it's pretty radical, 3 or 4. It's up to you, really!

workinglikeadog 02-04-2016 11:32 AM

challenge :End eating for the day after completion of Supper(orange =achieved)

Day 4- Jan 31.....Feb 1.....Feb 2.....Feb 3.....Feb 4.....Feb 5.....Feb 6
Day 11- Feb 7.....Feb 8.....Feb 9.....Feb 10.....Feb 11.....Feb 12.....Feb 13
Day 18- Feb 14.....Feb 15.....Feb 16.....Feb 17th?

skinnyme,:wel3fc: & this thread. Wendy talked a bit about choosing # of pause days, so you don't have to have 3 pause days unless you think you need them(a pause day does not count toward the 21 days). I like challenges to drink more water, always healthy. I would suggest having a concrete number such as 6 cups of water per day. If you currently only drink 3 cups a day, then trying for 5 would be a great change of habit. Best of luck.

Hi to everyone, good to see you start a new if needed.

Workinglikeadog, thank you!
I get it now. I don't need to use the pause days if I don't have to.
I'll shoot for 64 ounces.

wantochange 02-04-2016 06:17 PM

Hola - started off rough but going good now ...

Day 1 - FAIL
Day 2 - good
Day 3 - good
Day 4 - good
Day 5 - fingers crossed - having a rum / sprite right now

We are supposed to join friends to watch a band (technically a duo) tomorrow night by my husband has been sick with a cold this week and has passed it on to me (oh yeah!!). Yes people get colds in Mexico also. Stupid cold!! So chances are I will behave because I'll be home watching Hawaii 50 instead of a .... duo.

Will check in again next Thurs.

Everyone sounds like things are going well.

Good luck to you all

Dr Geri 02-04-2016 11:19 PM

Day 2--Tuesday, February 2: No sweets
Day 3--Wednesday, February 3: No sweets
Day 4--Thursday, February 4: No sweets

Sending support to all on a challenge!

skinnyme2 02-05-2016 08:02 AM
