5,000 steps for 4 days of each week with no more than 3 pause days.

7/13/15 Above 5,000 after great early walk, thank goodness.

7/14/15 4427 almost but must hit 5,000 to count, pause day

We keep trying and refuse to quit. This is character building at least.

Sorry to be missing in action. We are in harvest and I need to keep things running smoothly. I dropped the ball on almost everything, including eating habits, ugh! Starting writing down everything I ate(On July 12th) because I was nibbling all day long, stess I think. This has slowed me down to normal - - not that that is anything to brag about.

Well I can see I am not the only one having trouble staying on plan this time of year.

I will make journaling what I eat my challenge, so I pay more attention to what I eat. 3 possible pause days.
Sun July 12 - Day 1- journal *
Mon - journal *
Tues - journal *
Weds July 15th- Day 4 - journal *

Hang in there chicks and I hope you are able to stay on plan.

Diana Harvest time is certainly stressful. Journaling should help.

I journal on SuperTracker USDA and put food and activity. It is helping me.

Mag: Good start. We can do it!!!

Pause day 1--Wednesday, July 15: Unplanned pause day spent on four pieces of chocolate, which I ate so late at night I didn't want to invoke my redemption clause.

Day 08--Thursday, July 16: No sweets, no spuds

It is great to see so many Chick friends trying again or pushing through your challenges. Yeay to having Obsidian back, yeay to having Magistra return to crunching, yeay to having Hard Working Dog still posting despite a full slate of harvest and upcoming vacation, yeay to Gardener focused on hitting her step quota, yeay to all others (CindyB, how has your challenge been going?) out there building that character and forming better habits.

I still wanted to check in to pick up good vibes from the rest of you. Feels good to be making a positive effort to change unhealthy for healthy in at least one area of my life.

Morning Chicks.

Love2, Hope your knees have been behaving. Having a trainer - that is awesome.

Obsidian, Good for you to jump right back into staying on plan. The water is always helpful. Where ya going for vacation. Thinking I'll join you vicariously, lol.

CindyB, Hard to do anything while on the road. Hope to see you back here soon.

mag, I'm glad to hear you feel more focused. Thanks for the hug, right back at you! I know when I did crunches I had to do them 1st thing in the morning, hard but always felt good to accomplish something good so early in the day. The journaling is helping me stay aware of what I put in my mouth. I think I plan my eating better this way, for the most part.

Dr. Geri, I like your redemption clause. It makes the challenge more real like life. Plus a glass of water when eating off plan is an excellent habit.
Doing good, you're almost half way there.

I will make journaling what I eat my challenge, so I pay more attention to what I eat. 3 possible pause days.
Sun July 12 - Day 1- journal *
Mon - journal *
Tues - journal *
Weds July 15th- Day 4 - journal *
Thurs- journal *
Friday- journal *- the journaling helps me stop snacking at night ---don't want to write anymore down!!!

What an inspiring group, I feel well supported in making changes for a better me. Thank you ALL.

Diana You're right. I should do my crunches first thing in the morning right after I do my stretches. I stretch in the morning using some ballet moves. It gets my muscles warmed up. Since I'm warmed up already, that would be a good time to do the abs. And then it would be done and I wouldn't have to think about it the rest of the day. Thanks for the suggestion!

Sandy I'm impressed with the amount of time you put into your garden! Your garden must be amazing. I'm glad to hear Alieve helps your knees. I always have a bottle of that stuff around for various reasons.

Day 09--Friday, July 17: No sweets, no spuds

Day 10--Saturday, July 18: No sweets, no spuds. I am glad the Chinese buffet offers lychees so I can have a sweet end to lunch without hitting their dessert table. Then at night, my husband ate a stack of soft iced cookies right in front of me, but although I half-jokingly asked for one, he didn't give me any. I have to keep exercising that muscle, because historically I have succeeded in not seeking out the sweets, but when desserts are put in front of me by others or by event circumstance, that's when my challenges go straight down the drain. Doing well so far this time, and I bought some athletic shoes to help get myself back in the gym after more than a year away.

Go, go, go everybody! Dog walking! Water! Steps! Journaling! Crunches!

Dr Geri Good for you eating lychees and NOT eating iced cookies! Buying yourself a new piece of exercise gear is fun and excellent for motivation. When I wanted to get back into dancing I bought myself a new pair of dance shoes. I wanted to get serious about it, and of course I had to use my new shoes! It worked, and it was worth it.

7/19/15 above 5,000 DAY FOUR First week done.

Celebrated our middle daughter's birthday with dh and youngest daughter at new restaurant that had flavorful shrimp with veggies that I savored!!!

Mall walking afterward was appreciated after sitting in Church then in car, then in Restaurant for 2 hours as we 4 enjoyed catch up. DD#3 just got a good promotion so we celebrated that, also.

Dr Geri, you have a rascal for a husband!!!

Mag, hope you enjoy those new dancing shoes.

Glad to be home with AC and no further places to go till tomorrow's lunch with our Son and his family.

Sandy Thanks! I do love my dancing shoes. I go dancing either once or twice a week, but during the week I sometimes put the shoes on and dance around the house just for fun! It sounds like you had a lovely day yesterday. I love being at home and listening to the AC blowing. It's such a peaceful feeling.

Sending and to everyone! Let's have a great week!
