  • First day of work went great. A really awesome group of people. I'm excited for the incompetent phase to be over though. I don't like not knowing how everything works and where it goes or comes from. But that'll fade in time and I'll get the hang of it.

    One thing that pleased me was that I was having a skinny day today. Every time I caught a reflection of myself I felt pleasantly surprised at that I'm losing weight. It makes up for the fact that I've seemed to have plateaued again.
  • It seems I'm back to losing...another 0.75 lbs this morning. The carrot and I are dancing.

    Leah: I'm glad to hear you're ok despite the fall…and that you enjoy your new job. I'm sure the brief "plateau" is just water weight or stress. You'll be back to losing before you know it.

  • So I had to eat out twice yesterday, which rarely happens. I managed to stay on plan with the double eat-out, so I'm proud of myself for that. I might drink water with lemon today. Has anyone tried that?

    Leah - sorry about your tumble, that sucks, I'm glad it was only bruises. I know what you mean about wanting the initial phase of the job to be done. I like knowing where everything goes and when. Congrats on the skinny day! (but I bet that it is permanent )

    Tuscany - you are like a machine 4 lbs in 10 days incredible. I might change your name to "the robot".

    Tray - awesome job. Gotta love those steady declines.

    Pixi - Congrats on hitting the new decade! I love groupons, but I get so worried that I won't use them in time. Sorry about the interview. The same thing happened to me a few years ago only we didn't realize it until after I was hired. The ad was incorrect listing the hours wrong and no one mentioned it in the interviews (which was partly my fault). It turned into a giant mess.

    lene - four days in a row losses! 160s....

    Jacqui - When I go on vacation next month, I'm going to use you as an inspiration. You kept on plan, exercised and as a result you are bordering onederland.

    wolf - weight loss definately has its ups and downs, I just try to stay committed, and I know eventually the fat has to come off. Your down 3.8 in 9 days!!

    cincorn - Chinese did the EXACT same thing to me, only I gained 1.4. ugh such a pain because I love chinese. I might have to try something with less sodium at one of my favorite restaurants. It should come off soon.

    Gardenjoy - eating out is so hard, I feel like if you make the right calorie choices, you still have the bad sodium intake. Oh well, it happens.

    Blue - congrats on the 170s! TOM stinks, stupid hormones. 90 cal over isn't bad and good job on not giving into the binge. Maybe try some white vinegar down the drain?

    bg - TOM is such a pain. I get those falling dreams too. I've discovered that the closer I eat to going to bed, the worse my dreams/nighmares get. I had something right before I went to bed with the bugs dream. I guess its just one more reason not to eat late.

  • Leah I'm glad your first day of work went well I'm sure you will get the hang of it in no time! AND a new decade! congrats!

    Tuscany holy crap look at you go! Makes me think that your body was holding water in fat cells that had already been emptied and is finally flushing it out or something.

    Turtle I drink water with lemon for a couple days when I have eaten out etc. It seems to work, I'm usually back to the right number on the scale on the third day after eating out instead of it dragging out longer like it has in the past.

  • I stepped on the scale this morning out of curiosity... even tho i said i wasnt goi g to weigh in till monday, but to my plesant suprise it said 176.2!!!!!! Holy crap. Today is a sort of cheat day. I had a mound of crab legs and lobster bisque and some bread along witg two cups of blueberries. Not to bad but i can tell you from all the salt i am going to be sooooo bloated tomorrow. It was worth it

    Thanks pixikat! I am looking forward to getting into Onederland and even more on hitting 196, so I will no longer be in the "obese" range!

    I did not weigh myself today. We got up really early to travel (I'm back home now) and the exercise room with the scale was locked at that time. I am going to try to stay off the scale tomorrow since today is cheat day, but I find it really hard to keep away from the scale. It never upsets me if it reads more or stays the same since I figure it is all a part of the journey downward, so I don't know what the big deal is, why I feel so compelled to know my daily weight, but I can't seem to stay away from that dang little numbered thing, lol!
  • I just had to share: I'm lying on the couch trying to type on 3FC, but my cat, Ichabod, really missed me while I was on vacation, and he's making it a little difficult, lol!

  • A 0.5 lb loss this morning...hehe. Pixi, I think you hit the nail on the head. I think this is a case of my past efforts finally showing up on the scales. My weight loss in the latter part of July was extremely slow and I'm finally seeing the benefits. Three weeks ago, I weighed 158.5 lbs. So, I've lost 5.75 lbs in 3 weeks, which is a bit less than 2 lbs a week. It's just that virtually all that loss has shown up in August and virtually none appeared in July, even though I've being following the same diet plan. I guess the moral of the story is you just have to keep plugging away...the scales will eventually co-operate.

    Turtle: Maintaining when you have to eat out twice is a pretty good result! I've heard of water with lemon, but I've never tried it.

    Jacqui: I'm the same as you. I don't get upset if the scale stays the same or goes up, but I've got to step on it every morning! Welcome home and I'm glad you had a fun vacation. Ichabod is a sweetie! I have two furbabies...they're a lot of fun.

  • Well I seem to be moving in the right direction. The water with lemon was really good. I grabbed a couple basil leaves from my garden and added them with the lemon into a mason jar. It looked so pretty and was yummy. I might incorporate it into my routine.
