Hey pkmnmstrshay, hope you feel better soon! I'd definitely recommend some low impact. Maybe even just walking. Main thing is, stay in tune with how you are feeling, and if you get worse just stop. Not to mention, there is nothing wrong with taking a rest day!

So, I have pulled my head out of my rear and am feeling much better today. I did take a rest day from the gym this morning, and I could tell, just by how hard I was sleeping this morning and how late I slept, that my body really needed a rest day. Plus I got to take my time getting ready, did my makeup nicely, etc. And I couldn't help but notice while I was looking in the mirror that I feel like I look better! Maybe the scale hasn't moved a bunch, but my body seems to be getting back into flattering curves instead of flab curves! So yeh, feeling pretty cute after that. Plus I'm wearing this dress that has pockets in it with leggings underneath. I don't know why, but it makes me feel uber cute walking around with my hands in my dress pockets, lol! I'm a goof!

(I'll tell you right now I overshot my goal, but I am SO not beating myself up over it. I think I needed a rest/cheat day. And I didn't binge, which is my main fear. A few high calories is nothing compared to binging on up to 6K calories, oh yeh, I've been there before

Dinner: A big plate of food from Applebees and a dessert! I'm so bad, hehe. (1200 Cals)
TOTAL: 2420
Exercise - 30 Minute Spin Class

TODAY'S PLAN:Caloric Goal: 1100-1300

Good morning everyone! It was pouring here earlier and my joints (I don't know if I mentioned that I have arthritis in my feet, knees, hips and fingers) are really feeling the pressure I dooooooont wannnaaaa exercise!!!! So I came here so I would have to exercise later or tell you that I didn't!!! Today is Wednesday so I have upper and lower body strength stuff to do.

Candace - Is your knee all better?

jazzypeggy - Here's to two good days in a row!!

100mother - I love what you said about flattering curves!! I will be looking for that change in myself - how exciting!

munchey - Tell me about your free weights - how heavy?

jez - I was thinking about what you said about wanting to weigh in daily...I can only do it once a month or (no scale at home) and while on the one hand it drives me crazy - I want to update my weight if I am even down .5 lbs!! - on the other hand I think it helps me to focus on the process over the product, kwim?

dangerous - so, a burn pit is like a permanent outdoor fireplace? And I can't believe you do that many crunches - you are my hero!!!

pkmn (I hope it is ok to give you a little nickname!?) - I second the walking recommendation when you are feeling under the weather.

meenaa - welcome and come back soon!

Hello ladies-
Well my 2nd class is tonight and hoping for a good turn out. Ive been getting about 6 miles a day in 1/2 jog 1/2 walking plus my upper and lower crunches so feelin pretty good about my activity level even with the rain, glad it hasnt been steady rain storms. The pumpkin bread is all gone so there for no unhealthy snacking now lol!
Pk- good for you on getting extra water in... baby steps lead to long distances better than jumps do!
Sparks- yes, exactly! An outdoor fireplace perfect discription lol thank you!
Hoping to enjoy it soon but calling for rain thru the weekend but at least i know its ready when i am!
Candace- your enthusiasm can be felt in your words and its great!
100- ur body knows best and if we just pay attn more it would be easier for us to stay on plan wouldnt it lol!
Well time to get my shower and get my errands and such done before class. Have a great day yall!

Dangerous:
Good job on the mileage! Hope class goes well and you have a good turnout!

PKMNMSTRSHAY:
100Mother gave some good advice. Whether to work out when you don't feel well has a lot to do with "in what way you don't feel well" and generally the root cause. Sometimes we need a rest day and for some illnesses and issues, we need more than one day.

SPARKS:
Hope the joints feel better soon (but I know that it can be a daily battle to manage pain)

I have 10, 15 and 20 pound dumb bells. I took inventory of some other options and found some little 2 pound round/soft balls that I purchase a few months ago and I have a 7 lb Kettle Bell and a big Kettle Bell with adjustable options. I think I'll buy some dumb bells that are a step under 10 pounds (maybe 8)

100MOTHER:
Glad you are "feeling the progress". The scale definitely isn't the only thing we need to measure. Glad you listened to your body and took a rest day.

CANDACE:

I love tomato soup. One of my quick meals is to cook a frozen pack of veggies and then include them in a bowl of tomato soup. I put a little of my favorite hot sauce and then top with some dry parmesan cheese.

Thanks for the advice. I have a cold right now and it's getting a bit worse so I'm going to take a break until I feel better.

Well, I got it done! I am tired but a good tired. This weather makes me want to skip the after-dinner walk I was planning...I could do a short walking dvd (I have a 1-mile Leslie Sanson I could use)...I have to motivate myself all over again!

dangerous - can you remind me what kind of class you teach?

munchey - I have 2,3 and 5 lb weights. I am using the 5 pounders now and it is a good weight for the time being. But I am looking ahead and thinking about getting some heavier ones, maybe in the summer. But I am so tight for space...and tight for money which makes joining a gym problematic..I have to decide but I don't have to decide right now, right? I can get myself so worked up about what I should do in the future, when I know I should be using that energy to do what I ought to do RIGHT NOW! (sorry for shouting!)

SPARKS:
Most of the smaller weight dumb bells can be stored under your bed (definitely up to 10 pound sizes and perhaps 15 & 20 - depending on the bed).

You can do all the exercises you need at home. When you have the money to join a gym, you can revisit the choice to join one. Just be honest as to whether you would go. Gyms make most of their money on folks that join and never go. It can depend on the possible deals for membership (long-term memberships, seasonal, per month, per visit or for a series of classes, etc.)

So I've been bummed out that I've lost two lbs in the last week and a half.. then I realized..when I saw my Dr. on April 18th...I was 225 lbs, and now I am 216. I lost 9 lbs in 3 weeks.. so I guess I can't be too depressed. I guess I need to look at the big picture.

Anyways! I haven't ran since Saturday and it is KILLING me. This stinking rain has killed my nightly runs. I am going to bed in a few minutes so I can hopefully get a run in before I go to work tomorrow. I need to force myself to get up and go in the morning..I am so not a morning person! ha

Hope everyone is doing well! I am at the end of my spring semester of school, but I start my summer semester on Monday. No rest for the wicked! Between working full time, going to school full time, and being a mommy full time..I don't know how I can even be awake right now! I need a nap.

Munchey, Thanks! I was hoping to run this morning but it is so foggy and dark out that I started thinking of all of these horror movies, and decided it was better off to stay inside this morning.

Candace- hahahaha! I sometimes don't know how I do it. I'm a single mom, so I usually end up making dinner while having my laptop next to me doing homework in the kitchen after I get home from work. I really wish I had an extra 24 hours in my day. It would make my life SOOOO much easier!!!

So I decided..tonight.. I WILL run after work. I have been feeling blah the past few days since I haven't ran.

Okay..time to run! Need to leave for work early today since it is so foggy out, and dc traffic is the worst!

Gmornin ladies-
Class went well had 1 lady lose 4lbs this week just by counting calories and making better choices and another lady lost 6lbs. They are so excited and i was so happy for them too. So lasnite i gave them their official food journal and composition book to also use as a diary to start keeping so that they start to make time and focus on themselves each day. I think there are going to be some awesome results accomplished!
I did a goodwill run saturday and yesterday cuz ive had to break down and get some clothes since nothing i have stays up on me and well... its official im down from a 16-18 womens jeans to a 12-13 junior jeans! And 2x tops to large! Cant even tell you how happy and excited i was/am! I was near tears when i tried them on and everything zipped, buttoned and pulled on without so much as a suck in or tug! That makes me smaller than i was before i gained all the weight!
Sparks- i started attending a Healthy Eating Class last july (which is when i started my journey) and well when the clinic wanted to start the class back up i was asked to teach it and build a support group for them and i agreed to, for myself as well as to help others. I also have an RN with me for technicals and such when need be. Im their "biggest loser" so far and still doing it and learning as much as i can so they felt i could really help. Just hope i can!
Sinderelly- isnt all this rain and fog just wonderful... not! Hope you found your way thru the fog this a.m. for that jog!

HI CAMPERS!
We are half way through the week. Hope all the moms have something special to look forward to on Sunday.

CANDACE:
I use canned tomato soup. I try and get one of the lower calorie options and check out the label. For the frozen veggies, I buy Birds Eye Streamfresh bags that go straight from the freezer to the microwave. One of my favorites is brocolli, cauliflower and carrots.

One of my other quick meals is to have another type of canned soup on hand. I add some canned stewed tomatoes and veggies also. It is not optimum in regards to sodium, but you can find some soups that are low sodium and spice it up.

Dangerous:
Congrats on the success with your class! You are doing a good job! It is great to witness the enthusiasm when folk experience their first victories.

SINDERELLY:
Be careful running real early in the morning. A big dog is an asset as a buddy. I think California has a lot more problems than other states, when it comes to perverts and criminals. Be sure to take your cell phone with you and it might be a good idea to get some defense tools that are legal in your state. I used to jog and/or walk with pepper spray and a stun gun (and sometimes take an air horn). I've had a long list of scary situations over the years - the most harmless of which was viewing wennie wavers and scaring away a large dog stray dog that wanted to chase me when I was jogging without a dog. My motto is to prepare for the worst, but hope for the best.

Okay, I figured I should check in and confess that I went WAY off target with lunch. Some I'm revising my plan for today. TO be fair we had a huge catering event for all employees at work today and I was in charge of everything. So once the crowd finally cleared I made myself a gigantic plate including cream puffs! Mmmmmm....Not feeling too bad about it at this point, haha. Definitely need to up the water intake since I had a coke, and I can really feel it drying me out.

TODAY'S PLAN Revised:Caloric Goal: 1300 - 1500
Breakfast: Coffee (100 Cals) & Granola Bar (120 Cals)
Snack: Granola Bar (100 Cals)
Lunch: Crazy Amounts of Chinese food + Coke (1000 Cals)
Dinner: Small Salad (200 Cals)
Exercise: C25K Day 1, 20 Min Spinning, 100 Crunches
