So, I just noticed something. I ate some ice cream and now my tummy hurts. By "some" I mean like a 1/2 cup serving and by "hurts" I mean just a general unpleasant feeling, kinda like when you take medicine that's supposed to be taken with food and you don't eat something. Anyone else ever had sugar headaches or tummy aches? I'm not talking binge eating or overeating, just normal amounts.
Of course it could be totally unrelated, but maybe my body is getting used to going without excess sugar. This is the first dessert I've had in a week and a half, so I'm wondering if maybe my body is protesting against the extra sugar. If it is, that's pretty cool! I have a major sweet tooth, so going this long without dessert is a major feat for me. I actually forgot about my giving up sweets for this week until after I ate it . . . yeah I know. But don't worry, I have no plans of doing it again! I'd like to eventually add a few sweets/desserts back in my diet, since I don't want to feel deprived. I was just eating wayy too many before.

Gmornin yall-
198.4 this a.m.
ugh, still no sign of TOM!
Lol amandie i agree whole heartedly i wish it would just come and go already jeeez! Glad your bf was there to help and keep you from panicking. That would most definitely count as a workout in my book!
Shepherd- i know that feeling! I get it when i eat white pasta or bread now its crazy but a good thing im thinkin.
Snow- when i first starting walking i could only do 15 minutes at a time and there were times that was pushing it! So great job, moving is moving!
Sinderelly- glad your back and getting into your workouts! I started jogging spurts last week for the first time ever last week, ive NEVER jogged before but do it as a tabata type workout.
Munchey- wow hope you get things taken care of soon with your knee! Have 1 friend who just had knee surgery and another that depended on his "good" knee so much and for so long that its in worse shape than his "bad" knee now!
Ive got some pain in my hips this a.m. im guessing from the jogging and pressure from TOM so hopefully itll go away in a few days as they havent flaired up on me in awhile and i was really liking the whole not aching so much feeling, go figure huh lol! My dd has dr appt today to follow up with her back. She seems to be doing much better but already told her she was to take it easy thru the weekend just to make sure.

Happy for you, PinkHurricane!!!! That is AWESOME!
Shepherdgirl- I have 3 cats and wish I started walking them as kittens from the beginning. They freak out and try to get back in the house if I let them out now which is somewhat a relief so I know they won't try to run away, haha. I SO wish I had a sun room for them (maybe I will have one built in the back someday.) I've been there with the freshly out of the dryer pants and no tightness going on, awesome feeling for sure! Yay!!! The ice cream thing has happened to me before with stomach pains but not headaches or anything. I notice that happens with real full milk ice cream and I am okay with froyo/sherbet/homemade banana froyo doesn't so I stick with these.
Snowtopper- Funny, I do use King Arthur White Whole Wheat Flour. Cranberry scones? Sounds really good! I will look for the recipe on their site, thanks! WTG on the 20 min walking daily!
Wow, Sinderelly! Avoiding carbs and running? Yea, you're awesome! I chuckled at you yelling at the inner robot voice. I do that a lot when I'm on the elliptical because it tells me to slow down during the hard/highest resistance and I say No! I'm gonna keep going, it's only X more minutes. Sometimes the boyfriend turns around and asks if I'm okay, LOL. I think he thinks I'm nuts. He wouldn't be the first...
Joy- Heyhey for still being in 190s!!! Glad to hear about your DD. Hoping the hip pain goes away ASAP! Those are no fun!

Basement seems fine this am, whew! I will be getting in 1 hour on the elliptical today since I did not do that yesterday but I abstained from drinking so that's a plus in my book! Since my brother is gone to a bowling tourney up in Indiana for the whole weekend, I'm likely gonna be keeping my SIL company for a bit over the weekend and just hang. Since it is still cold here, I may make some potato and broccoli with cheese soup. Have a great day, all!

Dangerous- I was an athlete when I was younger, but I always dreaded running.. it seems like now it is kind of a release from the real world.
Amandie I am sure I look a little nutty yelling at nothing.. since I have my headphones and my iphone on my arm.. I am sure I am not quiet when I yell either! hahaha

HEY EVERYONE! HOPE EVERYONE HAS GOOD WEATHER AND IS READY FOR A GREAT WEEKEND!
My food has been good, but not so good on the exercise front. I went to Wallmart this afternoon and was checking out the OTC pain meds to see if there was anything better than the generic Tylenol I got at Sam's Club. I was looking for an extended release version of Tylenol, but didn't find it. The Tylenol will help if I take 2 of the extra strength quick acting gel tabs, but it wears off in a couple hours and I wake up at night.
Encountered 2 other people shopping for pain meds. Maybe I should try the advice from the man, lol. He said that liquor worked the best for him when he sprained his ankle (when I mentioned that too much Tylenol could be bad for the liver, he said well I can't take that. I used to drink too much)
DANGEROUS:
Glad your DD is feeling better. Good luck with the jogging.
SHEPHERDGIRL:
Regarding the ice cream, could you be lactose intolerant?
AMANDIE:
Sorry about the water leaks. Glad you had someone there to help. It sounds like a very stressful event.
Your cats are probably better off indoors. They won't get hit by a car or eaten by a coyote or some other animal.
SNOW:
Keep up the good work, it will show on the scale. The answer is "between all or nothing", so keep doing what works for you.
PINK:
Good to see you back. Sorry about all the stress! Good luck with your weigh-in - hoping it is 245 or less!

Actually, I think I know what the ice cream tummy ache was about now. I'm on my TOM, which usually causes digestive issues--I thought of that after my post and I was like "duh!" Although I'm sure the excess sugar didn't help. I've never been lactose intolerant--I love my milk (and ice cream)!
I would like to get into a more healthy eating pattern with regular fruits and veggies and less fats and sugars, but I'm afraid I'll never be a 100% clean eater. It will help me a lot once I am out of school and no longer eat at the cafeteria. They do have occasional healthy stuff, but it seems like all they serve is carbs and more carbs with cheese on top! As much as I love my carbs, I've kinda gotten sick of them from eating at the caf. every day--which I guess is a good thing!

Shepherdgirl- I would say do the best you can, I will never be a 100% clean eater either but I figure if you do the best you can like 80/20 or 90/10, it should be ok.
WTG, PinkHurricane!
Joy- Glad to hear your DD is better and hoping your DS does great at the competition this am!
Munchey- lol at the man's advice. Hope you found what you need and that it helps you!

Well, I got way drunk last night (family was celebrating late great uncle's birthday at the local bar), everybody kept buying me a drink after drink, lol. I had fun though! TOM showed up this am, joy! I popped a couple of tylenol because I am supposed to go to the mall today with my sis and nieces, I need to get something nice to wear for my cousin's wedding next weekend. Blah. Hopefully getting out in the sunny weather will help me feel more... upbeat. Gonna get a workout in later on once the tylenol kicks in.
Have a great day, all!!

Pink - that is an awesome weight loss! Keep doing what you are doing obviously is it working!
__________________________________________________
I spent my first 4 days on plan so confident.... and then Thursday came. My boyfriend brought home ice cream, oreos and Doritos (my absolute favourite!). I ate way too much both Thursday and Friday but I am back on plan today. I felt so sick after eating all the junk so hopfully I will remember that next time I want to binge.
I just downloaded a spinning workout to do this week since I need to incorporate exercise into my routine this week.
My weigh in day is tomorrow but I am not actually going to look at the scale. I have a goal of losing 2lbs to be 181. So my boyfriend is going to tell me if I made my goal or not but I won't know the actual number. Last time I got off track because I wasn't seeing the movement I wanted and therefore I thought "well if eating healthy isn't making a difference I should just eat whatever I want".I also get obsessive about weighing myself. So this time I'm going to record my days as on plan or not and then if I made my weigh in goal or not. Hopfully my plan works out better this time. Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone!

RATED:
The most important thing is that you are back on track! I know you can do this! Think how great you will feel when you get half way to goal weight and then goal weight! You need to find new lower calorie, healthier versions of foods or alternatives that you like.
Do you have any thoughts regarding why your boyfriend brought all three of those foods into the home - particularly on your first week? Is your boyfriend setting you up to fail? I'm thinking that if he keeps doing that you are going to fail unless you get yourself a whole lot of willpower. I don't mean to sound negative, but one of the items he brought home would have been bad enough, but all three? Seems a bit insensitive, but that probably describes the majority of men.
Can you convince him to eat healthier versions? The Pop Chip brand has some tortilla chip versions now and there are some other brands that are a lot healthier and lower in calories. I've been getting a raspberry or blackberry sorbet that is wonderful and only 120 calories per half cup.
We don't need to deprive ourselves. There are healthier, lower calorie alternatives. If your boyfriend won't get with the program, you can buy the healthier versions yourself and he can have the unhealthy version and you can join him with the healthy version.

Tough love and a big hug for you.

A spanking for your boyfriend!

Munchy - My post makes it seem like he is setting me up to fail but it isn't like that. We live in a really isolated area and the store NEVER gets these things in so he went a little crazy. Since I had not had my favourite chips in so long he thought he was being nice (typical guy train of thought) We talked and I told him that it is better that I don't know these things are in the house. So we decided next time he buys these things he would hide them and never tell me (and eat them after I go to bed lol). I should have had more will power and I think I will get better as time goes on. I feel like every time I say no it is easier to say no the next time.
I had a dinner party tonight and while I didn't deprive myself I had no seconds (even though some of the stuff was delicious). So I feel back on track.
Hope the weekend isn't derailing anyone else.

Well, the honeymoon is over--I no longer have that super motivation to lose weight/get healthier that I always have the first couple weeks of a new diet (this will be the third week). I'm kinda glad actually, since I knew I wouldn't stay that pumped for long and I need to stick with this for the rest of my life. Now is where the rubber hits the road! Anyways, this past week, schoolwork has been crashing down on my head (I'm a graduating senior, so I have the additional pressure of getting things done a week early, not to mention doing well on everything). My TOM arrived (and is still here), which is also making me feel grouchy. But I'm not quitting--it's just going to be harder (especially these last couple weeks of school).
My grades for last week:
Food= B+ My goal was to stay within 1500 cal. range and avoid all desserts. I ate an average of 1489 calories per day. I did have one slip up--I went home and my family was eating ice cream and offered me some . . . and I didn't remember I wasn't supposed to eat it until after I did. But that was the only time.
Exercise= D Horrible on this one. I did walk to all my classes and take all the stairs, except for one day when it was raining and a classmate offered me ride. And I did have a pretty great NSV victory when I took a huge flight of stairs that I've always avoided (see a previous post). But I didn't do any extra exercising (I had planned to do 4 days of walking). Nada. I had wonderful excuses, like my TOM and being busy with school, but mainly it was because I just didn't want to do it. Oh well. If I was perfect every week, it wouldn't give me a chance to improve, right?
Weight= A+ I'm pretty sure I'm still losing water weight, cause this week I lost 3.8 pounds! And that is on my TOM too! So I wonder how much of my previous weight gain that I blamed on TOM was really due to my excess consumption of sweets . . . hmm. That also means I've met my monthly goal a week early (get out of the 220s). So I guess my next goal will just be to keep going down!
