8/19 151 (-1.2 lbs) I don't think I'm going to make it but I'm very pleased with how I've progressed. Part of my personal progression is understanding more about me and how my mind and motivation work. I realize that time based weight loss challenges do not work for me. I lost the majority of my weight without relegating myself to a particular schedule. I think because I began my journey knowing that my health was at a tipping point with borderline high blood pressure, aching joints, and good chance of becoming diabetic if I didn't do something, finding and maintaining good health was the priority. The weight loss was an afterthought if you can believe it. I've done really well with the exercise challenges because that is something I can control. Control is somewhat nebulous with weight loss and I so want to control my weight loss yet this is almost impossible How many of us can attest to being perfectly on plan and not lose an oz. for a week or more, or experience an unexplained plateau? Nearly all of us. Clearly it is a wonderful motivator for so many of us doing the challenge. So many successes! For me, this isn't true so I need to engage myself with the challenges that DO support my own internal motivational drives and stop trying to wedge a square peg into a round hole But I started this challenge and will see it through to the end. I don't think I would have ever discovered this about myself had I not chose to participate. And I'm not sorry I did.

I won't make my goal, but it was a lofty goal and my surgery got in the way. But no excuses. I still lost weight and will continue on. Congrats to those that made theirs early and to those that are so close.

Labor Day is only 10 days away! I made a goal of losing 14 pounds. I have lost 6. I know I won't make the goal I set but I am happy seeing the number go down after being the same weight for years!!!

no changes from my last post! I went off track for a few days and now have it "back together" but that basically means, no progress! I will not make my goal but I am happy I have lost. After being the same weight for YEARS (299-300) I am happy to see the mid 280's on the scale. I think my next goal I post will not be as high to make one finally! LOL

Congrats to all us "losers" happy Labor Day!!
