Hi everyone, hope you all had great valentines days!
I'm aiming for 8 pounds, judging by how slowly the weight has been coming off recently that might be pushing it but we'll see... CW: 134 GW: 126 I'm away this weekend so I'm not sure how well I'll be eating over the next few days. Fingers crossed I don't go too off track. Good luck to you all for the weekend! |
Hi everybody, just checking in to report that I have had my first OP day for over two weeks. Complete with 10 glasses of water and 40 minutes on the elliptical and some situps. Feeling pretty good about myself this evening, so I think I will continue my successful day by actually going to bed before 11:00 and getting a good nights sleep. Everybody keep up the hard work:)
|
Angie, I'm with you. I really dislike formal exercise. I don't mind walking, riding a bike or yard work, but formal exercise. Yuck! Of course being in Michigan it's a little too cold outside for those activities.
About the only thing I've discovered that I'm successful doing on a regular basis is the step thing on my WI Fit. I make myself do that while I watch any of my shows. It's kind of cool how you can set it for 30 minutes, watch TV as you step, and when it's done find out how many steps you've done. It's almost like step aerobics. LOL Kim |
I need to get my Wii Fit back out and start exercising some everyday. Tonight I am taking my daughter downhill skiing. I think I am getting a cold so I hope I can make it through tonight. It is great exercise and I love it!
I did have one cheat today and that was 1/2 a yeast doughnut. There is no good excuse for that loss of willpower but am back OP. I will work it off tonight. I don't really care for the exercise DVDs. I really like dancing and Yoga so I have been trying to find DVDs that have those things in them. I love to go on a walk in the evening but it has been too cold lately. |
Good afternoon everybunny! :bunny:
Not much new to report. Diet is going well, as is exercise, but I've been the same weight 4 days in a row. Bummer! I thought that since I put a good chunk on rather quickly that it would come off just as quickly once I got back to my diet. That does not seem to be happening, unlike it used to in the past. Yet another good reason not to binge. What took me a week or two to gain (and I can easily gain 10 or more pounds in that time...I kid you not), now takes me a couple of months or more to lose. So unfair! :( I've decided to go back to my once-a-week weigh ins because the daily ones are only bumming me out. But I'll weigh in on Saturdays because Monday through Friday I get up at 5:30 a.m., and I don't feel as though that is my true weight. For example, I've weighed in at 5:30 on Monday before and, without drinking or eating anything, will weigh again 2-3 hours later and will usually be about a half pound lighter. I need all the encouragement/weight loss I can get, so I'll go with the lighter weight on Saturday mornings when I can sleep in a little longer. ;) Boy, that really took way too long to explain. :p Hope you all have a wonderful weekend free of temptations! :smug: |
I just found the boards today and would love to join in on this challenge. Hopefully it will help me keep myself on track.
SW: 208.6 GW: 197 (20%) |
Hi everyone.....sorry I have been absent this week. I started a new job this week (after a 6 month break) and I have been exhausted every night!
Pretty happy with the V-Day Challenge - lost 14ibs! :carrot: I didn't stop in to record my CW or GW on the 15th so here it goes..... SW - 315.2 GW - 298 I am aiming for a 17 lb. loss - a bit ambitious but I can't wait to get out of the 300 range! |
I forgot to post on the 15th. lol
SW: 264 CW: 259 (- 7 lbs) GW: 250 14 lbs to lose. I know it's a lot but I want to aim high! lol. February 20: 263 February 27: 262 March 5: 264 (My TOM) March 12: 259 (yessssss) March 19: 257 March 26: 254 April 2: 251 April 8/Final: |
I'm also an exercise hater, but the key for me has been to workout with a friend to give each other motivation and encouragement. If it's just me, I'm much more likely to not workout.
We've been doing the Turbo Jam DVDs which so far is definitely my favorite workout! I'd recommend that anybody looking for a fun workout should try it. Like I said, coming from an exercise hater- I think it's fun and it goes by SO fast, it's over before you know it. For the first time in my life, I have actually been looking forward to working out! |
Hi Everyone!
I too hate formal exercise and never stick with anything! I started the couch to 5K though and I love it! I think it is because I LOVE to be outside even when it is freezing out. I actually feel sad the days I don't do it but I am starting slow and don't want to hurt myself. I also attend a yoga class once a week. It is actually a way better workout then what I would have thought and very challenging! Jen |
Checking in before I hit the bed. I'm exhausted and think I am getting the cold that son & hubby have. I also am an exercise hater and get bored so easily with walking or the elliptical. This evening I bought a rebounder mini trampoline that has arm resistance bands attached for both a cardio and strength training workout. I am looking forward to trying it out in the morning. Has anyone ever tried this??
They are calling for 5" or more of snow here on Sunday and I have everything crossed that we get it. I love snow and we have had no measurable snow here yet this winter. Just want that one big one and then it can get warm and I can go camping. Hope everyone has a great and successful weekend. I know that the weekends are my toughest time. |
Happy Weekend Everyone!
Great see some familiar "faces," ::::::waving to Sandy, Angie, Vicki::::::::::::: and BIG hugs also to new friends joining in this challenge  Golly, is it really possible to gain 4 pounds in 5 days? I'd love to believe it's due to a scale malfunction. Breaking point came yesterday: Someone in the building where I work recognized me at a bus stop and began to congratulate me on my "pregnancy." Got home and mentally began blaming the empire-waist dress I wore, combined with poor posture, blah blah blah - epic denial! Haven't sorted out the best approach with food and exercise yet, only that I need to eat less and move my body more. I'll post weigh-ins each Friday. So glad to be back with this wonderful group. Jean |
I hear you, Jean, about those empire waist dresses. They could make Twiggy herself look 4 months along. One goal of mine when I reach 150 is to always get dresses and tops fitted at the waist. I am woman...hear me roar! :D
Vicki, congratulation on your new job and your awesome weight loss in the Valentine's challenge. As for exercise, I'm only aiming for 3 days a week of Callanetics Evolution and 10 minutes on my waist twister (for the more mature women here, remember that little round disc you stand on and just twist back and forth on it to work the waist? I just got one of those to help whittle in my middle). That is about all I can muster these days. I'm hoping the exercise bug will come bite me on the patooty soon so that I can work up to 5 days a week no sweat (no pun intended). Ta ta for now! |
Argh! Same weight now for 5 days straight. This is so aggravating. I guess just plain low carb eating isn't working the same. Time to combine that with calorie counting. Woman's World has a Turbo Atkins diet plan in there, which is basically Atikins but no more than 1700 calories a day. I'll follow that for a while and see if there is any difference on the scale next week. Woman's World claims that women following this plan lost 10 pounds or more a month. I'd be happy with 5 pounds a month at this point in my life.
How's everyone else doing? |
Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend :carrot:
In hindsight, I'm finding a combination of calorie counting and exercise provided the best (and healthiest) results in past efforts at weight loss. And, if I gave it half a chance, these would probably serve me well in maintaining losses! Rather than choose a numerical goal weight, I'm going to use this challenge to COMMIT to a combination of calorie counting, routine exercise and see where that goes. I'm also going to begin a "diet" from negative thinking. :yoga: It's not difficult to see where I've allowed one negative thought to take root, build itself into a big storyline that fueled a lot of overeating. Yup - one crummy thought can soon have me back in the kitchen preparing a rich, complicated feast for a body that isn't even hungry. Sandy, I remember those twister discs! Go for it :carrot: As always, you've now inspired me to dust off the hula hoop purchased a few months ago (and never used). My middle "cheering section" could certainly use the workout - as evidenced by my recent event of mistaken identity at the bus stop :preg: Jzeeeeeeeeeshhhhh! Logging foods eaten keeps me accountable and motivated. Also going to check in here more often, another key to success. I'll post weigh-in results each Friday.:goodscale (Somehow, seeing where I've landed each week - whether a gain or loss - helps guide the weekend eating to healthier choices). Let's do this :dizzy: |
Annnnd I'm in!
I'm glad to see some returning faces!! :D Let's do this!! SW:160.4 CW: 160.4 GW: 150. Here is to hoping! I am doing this new program that is made by Jamie Eason. She is a body builder, not the CRAZY big muscle kind, but the sexy toned PERFECT kind! haha So far from starting this in 2 weeks I'v lost 6lbs! Booya! Her workouts kill my arms and legs! I love it! And I have been running, every stinkin day. On my hour lunch at work I go for a 2 mile jog. I just don't like coming back to work all sweaty. Oh well. They will learn to deal! hahah I hope you all stay OP! <3 |
I'm definitely in. Didn't do so well on the Valentine's challenge. Wanted 12lbs, but only ended up with 5 lbs. Better than nothing I guess. So, starting at 185 and hoping to lose 10.
|
Just wanted to say hi. I weighed in at my WW mtg this morning. Down .6, which is good in theory, but I'm breastfeeding... Shouldn't the weight be falling off?? I have more baby weight to lose!
My pattern seems to be lose four pounds one week and the maintain the next, repeat. I guess it's not too bad of a pattern, but that week of maintaining is irritating! Anyway, hope everyone is having a good weekend, I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you! |
I am so in! That's puts us at exactly 7 weeks until easter from today, right? Well this should be fun! :)
Cw 275 Gw 260 Aiming to lose 15 lbs! |
Praise the Lord! The scale finally moved after 5 days. I knew I said I only wanted to weigh in on Saturday, but I just had to see if there was any difference this morning. It's only a loss of 0.8, but I'll take it. I'm starting that Turbo Atkins tomorrow, so we'll see just how "Turbo" it really is.
|
Down a pound. Ever since I got under 200 it's been slow going. I have to fight for every single ounce. It's probably because in the past 10-11 years I've been under 200 once and only then for maybe 6 months. My stupid body isn't taking to very well to being here but I refuse to ever be over 200 again.
|
Well it has been an incredibly looonnnngggg weekend. Hubby and I have both been sick, so nothing but laying around and watching t.v.. It finally started to snow flurry here a few minutes ago. I've only been waiting all day. Disappointed I haven't been able to exercise this weekend, but happy to report that I have been totally OP as far as my water and food. So for that to happen on a weekend is a major accomplishment. Hope everyone had a great weekend and wishing all a successful week.
|
Scale has been stuck in the same spot since last Monday! :tantrum: I think my body is starting to get into a pattern of drop lb one week-maintain the 2nd-drop again-maintain again...its going to be a long week! Hopefully I can report a budge in the scale by Friday. :dizzy:
Got a lot of rest over the weekend though. So Ill at least be able to get my exercise for the week off to a good start today. Plus NSV-went down a band size in my bra! Also got into my summer clothes from last year and all of them are lose. :carrot: For once in a long time Im looking forward to shopping. |
Hi All..........Weighed in today and saw a 3 lb drop :carrot:.
I really miss being able to check in here regularly :( I am so happy to see everyone doing so well......we are a great bunch aren't we! |
Woo hoo, Vicki. That's awesome!!
Lambie, I feel the same way; I zoomed out of the 200s (it seemed), but have to fight tooth and nail for every ounce to lose now. We just have to keep plugging along. You are doing great! tbrwn, hope you and hubby feel better soon. My youngest daughter woke up this morning with a sore throat and stuffy nose. Thankfully she's off of school today for Predidents Day, so I hope she'll be better enough to go in tomorrow. Kids seem to recoop so quickly. I know I shouldn't be on here until all my chores and exercise are done (I'll admit...since I didn't have to get up early to take my daughter to school, I've been moving too slowly this morning). But I just wanted to pop in here quickly to say I'm down another 0.6! It's still very slow going, but it IS finally going. I'm starting the Woman's World Supercharged Atkins this morning and promise not to weigh in until my new weigh in day, Saturday. I just wanted to see where I'd be starting at. Good luck to everyone this week for a healthy, happy week ahead. I'll try to check back in later. |

I started the Firm Express plan 5 days ago and have lost 1/2 lb so far. I like the fast pace of the workouts, but they are not easy. Luckily they're only 20 mins each! |
I am afraid to weigh myself. I have caught a cold from somewhere and seem to have no energy. Not even to eat. Nothing sounds good. I had a salad today but mostly just picked at it. I have to miss Zumba tonight because of this cold I caught. I am so bummed right now.
|
Well howdy, FOLKS! Looks like we have had some new (and some familiar) faces to join... WeLcOmE one and all! Congrats to all who saw their numbers drop this past week! It really is such a good feeling, and for me it keeps me motivated! That being said, I did NOT have a drop on the scale at this mornings weigh-in! In fact, I was up 2lbs. I have to admit, it felt like a slap in the face. Only because I've seen the numbers go down each and every weigh-in so this was a little bit of a surprise for me! BUT, I'm not being too hard on myself and have not lost focus or motivation. I know that people hit plateaus during their weight-loss journeys, and whether this is a plateau for me or my body still holding onto water-weight from TOM last week, I KNOW that I'm doing right by my diet! I suppose that's what is keeping me from being too upset about my date with the scale this a.m.! So, enough about me =) 3 cheers for a damn-near perfect OP week this week, yall! Hip Hip HOORAY! Let's do this! :carrot:
|
Hi everyone!
One week down! This first week of the challenge is also my first week on this website, and my first week of healthy eating/exercise since, well, a long time. For the most part I managed to stay OP, with the exception of a couple more glasses of wine than planned. (My husband and I received a monthly wine delivery package for our wedding last summer, which is great, until you're trying to lose weight. Nothing says "the universe is out to destroy your best laid plans" like having wine delivered to your door on Friday at the end of a busy and stressful week...haha.) Nonetheless, I managed to work out everyday except Sunday, and I dropped 2 pounds. Great work ladies, let's do this! SW: 172 CW: 170 GW: 162 Weigh-ins: February 20: 170 February 27: March 5: March 12: March 19: March 26: April 2: April 8/Final: |
SW: 191
GW: 181 Weigh ins: February 20: 188.7 (-2.3) February 27: 187.6 (-1.1) March 5: March 12: March 19: March 26: April 2: April 8/Final: |
Hey! I've been lurking the boards for forever and finally joined. It always looks like these challenges really help everyone keep themselves on track, so I'm so excited to get in on one even if it's a little bit late! :)
SW: 298 GW: 280 |
Hi Everyone! As others have said, it's great to see the familiar faces and to keep up with everyone. I'm also motivated by everyone's successes and stories.
My weight stayed the same, despite a pretty good week on plan. Oh well, I'll keep going. I must remember that I feel better, my clothes are looser, and I have an eating plan I can maintain for the long haul. :bunny2: Start: 185 Current: 185 Goal: 172 Welcome Newbies - Great to have you! Congratulations to all of you big losers!!!! Way to go! I also hope that those of you who have been struggling with sickness start feeling better. Spring is on the way!!!!:flow1::flow1::flow1: |
This is a weird weigh in for me. I'm not sure what happened as I've been on plan & it is not TOM, but I'm up 1 pound this week :?:
I'm going to write this week off to some crazy hormonal thing & just stay on track. But it irks me to say the least. Starting Weight: 184.4 Goal Weight: 175 Weigh ins, the week of: February 20: 185.4 WTF?? February 27: March 5: March 12: March 19: March 26: April 2: April 8/Final: Here's to a better weigh in for me next week. You ladies keep rocking it! Kim |
My weight was up this morning!!!!!
I thought for sure it would be down. Now I know I have not eaten enough calories to have gained real weight, so it's water, bulk, who knows. Just a little discouraged. I'll hang in there, though. And here I thought I'd be reporting a quick loss of one or two. That crazy demon scale!!!!!! Kandd - seems like we're in it together! |
One week into the challenge... It sounds like everyone is on track! Even if the scales not moving if you're staying on plan it will soon!!
SW: 189.5 CW: 187 GW: 174 |
Feeling better some today and feeling like eating. I am snacking on some chesse cubes now. I might try some yoga after work tonight and see when I do downward dog if my head feels like it will explode. Maybe since it will be more of a flow yoga I'll make it. I hate being sick. I made Homestyle Chicken Packets and fried up onions and bell peppers for supper last night. Very good. I am having the leftovers for lunch today. Dh is down 10 lbs after OP for 2 weeks. *sigh* I am up 1 lb.
Start 148 February 20 149 |
Vicki1 Thanks for starting this Challenge!
I'm starting a little late but have my SW from Feb. 15th. SW: 247.4 GW: 235.4 Easter is April 8th. Is that the date you meant for the finally weigh in? |
Redautumn- men suck! DH lost 50 lbs 2 years ago by cutting out soda and not putting sugar in his coffee. 50 lbs with just that!!! Meanwhile I have to fight tooth and nail for every single ounce!
|
I'm in I ain't been online in awhile so I am late signing up to this challenge.. Hoping this challenge goes better for me than the last.. I went off track and gained all the weight I lost.. So here is to loosing that weight and more....
SW: 284 GW: 195 Weigh-ins: February 20: 274 February 27: March 5: March 12: March 19: March 26: April 2: April 8/Final: |
Dh just changed his diet. I changed my diet and exercised. Of course, Girl Scout cookies aren't good for me either (my dd is a girl scout, so the cookies are unavoidable). He ate more than me but didn't gain an ounce. He lost 3 lbs. What happens to me? I gain a lb. Blech!
