Hi all! Well I lost 4.2 lbs this week which from my calculations is 1.3 %. Need to admit I did not stick to plan completely so I am going to focus on that this week.

Have a good week everyone!

Good morning everyone,

Congrats Vicki on a great loss for the week!

I had some exciting news yesterday. I took my waist measurements and from last year to now, I've lost 6 inches in the waist! That was a pleasant surprise and it motivated me to keep on going even if the scale is moving at a snail's pace.

I hope we all have a great week!

I added my itty bitty loss to the chart. .31 % or .8 pounds. I want to lose at least 1 percent next week so I had better get busy. Eat less, move more. I will say this challenge is on my mind, so it is motivating me just a little bit. I'm going to allow it to motivate me more this week.

Congrats to everyone on the loses! I have to brag for a second... I have a size 4 pair of pants in my closet that I bought used awhile back along with other pants that I knew would fit (size 6's). Well, I tried the 4's on and they fit perfectly with room to spare in the thighs! Who thought I'd be able to wear size 4's when I'm still not at a "healthy" weight yet, crazy, right? Then again, I have another pair of 6's still sitting in my closest that I can't wear (and I think it's going to be awhile yet!).

lovemydoggiesx2, Wow, amazing job!!

vicki, congrats on your 4.2! That's awesome!

GettinFit, holy crap! That is incredible! Is that 6 inches between 235 and 210?

Jazzy, I'm glad the challenge is on your mind. It's been keeping me motivated, too (although I did conveniently ignore it while I was drinking margaritas yesterday). P.S. Your dog is such a cutie

runningfromfat, WOW!! A size 4 is amazing. I can't even begin to imagine what that would feel like! Congrats, girl!!

And congrats to everyone else, too! So far looks like everyone lost, so hurray!

I'm only down 1.8, but between the red curse, Super Bowl treats and weighing in a few hours early today, I'm not going to complain too much. But I'm pushing for a big drop this week. I've also been juicing, which gives me some extra nutrition (since I never really eat fruits and veggies) and cuts down on the fat from the coffee I usually get.

Last week went great, but I'm dreading this week. I have plans every night and it's really hard to stay on plan, but this challenge will hopefully help me stay motivated

Congrats to everyone on their loss - We are all awesome

Wow, lots of losses -congrats everybody!

I got a super cool surprise when I stepped on the scale this AM - I was down 4.5

It's probably mostly water weight, but it's sure is nice to see those numbers going down for a change.

Here's to another on plan week for all

Hey ladies! Some of the math was wrong, so I went in and fixed it. What some of us were doing (including me) was (current weight)/(previos weight) and taking that value as percentage change when it's actually the opposite (e.g. 206/210 = .981, we wrote percentage lost as .98%).

The correct way to calculate is (previous weight - current weight)/(previous weight). That'll give you a value that has either one or two zeros after the decimal point and then a number.

So if PW=210 and CW=206 it's (210-206)/(210)=0.019 (19/1000) so you actually lost 1.9%, not .98%.

Or 1-(cw/pw) [1-(206/210)=.019=1.9%]

Or (amount lost)/(previous weight) [4/210=.019=1.9%]

Today was my weigh in and I am at a big 0%. It's not TOM & I can't think of any reason that I didn't see some loss. Even a itty bitty one. According to my tracking I should have had a 1.2 pound loss. But then again, last week I had 2 lbs & only should have had 1.4.

It gets discouraging, but I'm not going to let it get to me. I'm going to continue to stay OP and maybe add some more exercise. I will meet my February goal & then continue on until I meet my 4th of July goal! Yay!

Hope everyone stays OP & sees the scale move down.

Kim

Good morning ladies,

Runningfromfat - Congrats on fitting your size 4s! That is an awesome accomplishment.

Paradise - Yes the 6 inches in the waist is between 235-210. I'm sure it's because I do the FIRM workouts which help tremendously with losing inches.

Kim - Don't get discouraged; I thought I would have lost more than .8 too but I'm hoping to see a drop next week. Are you taking your measurements? Sometimes we lose inches when the scale doesn't show a loss. Hang in there.

osaunt - Congrats on your huge loss!

MathGeek - Stay strong. You can do it!!

I hope we all have a great day! Stay strong evryone

Can you put this up near where the spreadsheet is, or better yet, if someone is good at spreadsheets, have it do it for people automatically when then enter a new weight.

Sorry, gained this week. Yesterday and the day before were my ovulation gain numbers. I'm actually down quite a bit today, but the weighin for the spread sheet was yesterday, so I was honest and put the 176.6.

I put in the formula for next week and checked that it's working. I can do that for the other weeks to if you guys want. It says 100% until we update the values.
