Girls, what next? we are in our last week of Thanksgiving..challenge to New Year. Expect everyone will be active then and we can decide where to go from there?

OK, so not sure why..maybe I do... but my weight has been climbing rather than dropping. Thinking because I have been drinking mudslides at night instead of water? Note to self, not a diet drink.

Made my dreadmill goal. 2 days in a row!

Thinsole 11-20-2011 10:20 PM

Congrats Mavis on sticking with the dreadmill.

Emiloots- The puppy is sooo cute! How old is he? And that ToysRUs lady was probably jealous of the awesome biceps you have from lifting your kids all the time.

Well I'm back. Did a lot of hiking with heavy pack but also did a lot of sitting and junk food eating. Didn't gain, but didn't lose either.

I say we do a to New Year Challenge. I agree with Mavis on the if we hang in till New Years people will be back.

mothermavis 11-21-2011 06:13 AM

Yesss! Made 3 days of exercise in a row! Yesterday was hula hooping! :D Proud of myself!

Thin, no gain is great! Did you have a good time? Did you get a deer?

What's everyone's Thanksgiving plans? Do you try to stay OP or do you let it all hang out for the day or somewhere in between? I am going to try to stay mostly OP but with a big old yeasty roll thrown in!

W 100 or close today

Hey.. I havent left you girls. It is just harder to get on the computer these days. My husband is having some issues so we have been spending more time at his house. Trying to resolve this problem is frustrating. You see, he keeps getting headaches abd sinus pain. He seems to think it is from my dogs in the house. However, he also has a dog and she sleeps in the bedroom with us when we stay there. So im thinking if its a dog thing then his dog should be a problem too, right??

It has been stressful and we are trying to figure it out. I suggest allergy test and go from there. It is difficult staying at his house as there is no food or tv or anything for me to do there. I really hope we can find a resolution to this problem soon.

Weight wise- I am still hanging around 180. Trying to get in those workouts after work but you all know how life creeps up on you. Wanted to workout tonight but we have a staff meeting. Darn!!

We need to keep motivated during the holiday season. I was just reading a mag that talked about looking at the holidays as a few special events..not a whole season. Eat reasonably most of the time and then have those few days of some splurgges. Sounds like a plan to me.

Well I think I've rambled enough. Have a great week ladies. Mine will be Mon...today and tomorrow is my Friday. YIPPY!!!

mtiger 11-21-2011 07:43 AM

MM- Went to a surgeon to discuss a hysterectomy. It is for my cancer gene issue but it would be one way to deal with those hormones and be in menopause for sure. It is what they are recommending.

Emi- adorable little guy.

Thinsole 11-21-2011 07:52 PM

mtiger- That suggestion on how to view the holidays is great.

My family and I tend to make a huge production of the holidays. We have multiple dinners, the main one at my parents with each sibling having one at their home. So we all go to the 'rents around lunch, pop by sis's at around 3 or 4, then I head home for my own little turkey. Somehow it has been permissible to eat a full meal at all three places. Including extra extra pie. I never feel good afterwards physically and the rest of the day is usually a wash.

This year the plan is to forego sis's and skip the pie at Mom & Dad's. My own little dinner is gonna be veggie heavy, but butter & gravy lite. I plan to cut all the meat off my turkey the first day and freeze half of it. That way I'm not staring at a huge platter of turkey meat thinking "I have to eat this or it will go bad!"

Mavis- Congrats on 3 days of working out! Dang, gotta get my booty back into the swing of things! I did see deer I could have shot at, but I'm not starving and they weren't a trophy, so I let them pass. It was lots of fun though. I saw an eagle, heard coyotes, and watched three different colored squirrels fight over the corn I put out.

W- 80 oz (60 down)
E- Ran a mile (darn knee started hurting)
E- Back to 1500-1800 cal
D- Honor my bodies restrictions.

Mindy, Quick thought on the allergies. Some dogs are more allergy friendly than others (allegedly) if his is one of those, possibly it could be better from him there than at your house, but testing sounds like the plan. At least when you know what the problem is, you can deal with it. Good luck with the surgeon. Tough decisions, aren't they?

Thin, glad you had fun. DH likes to hunt and practices the same philosophy of letting them grow to be trophys.

Thinsole 11-23-2011 07:15 AM

It's the day before Thanksgiving. I've never had the holiday inspire trepidation before. Like the food is going to jump down my throat *scoffs* Just needed to give myself a reality check. I am the one in control of my actions.

W- 80 (doing well this week)
E- Gonna try a longer run outside today. Hopefully not so many turns will = no knee pain.
E- 1500-1800 cals
D- Enjoy the process
