Walk to Rivendell Challenge
 

In honor of my 29th birthday (and in fear of facing my 30th birthday still overweight, out of shape and unhealthy), I'm kicking off a personal and very nerdy challenge.

Being a huge fan of Lord of the Rings *and a HUGE nerd*, I am embarking on the Walk to Rivendell challenge.

**I, apparently, don't have enough posts to include a link to the original challenge page. You can easily google it. And when I do the ability to add links, one will be edited in here**

I'll be following the path of Frodo and Sam from Bag End to Rivendell, then on to Lothlorian, Rauros Fall, and finally the dark path to Mt. Doom - a total of 1,779 miles. I plan to throw my excess weight and unhealthy habits into the fiery chasm of Mt. Doom by my 30th Birthday - 9/20/2012! Tune in for periodic updates of where I am on my journey!

Anyone who is interested is welcome to join me. There are many paths that could be taken - pick the right one for you. Walk, run, bike, swim, rollerblade, do whatever it is you do and post your totals!

This is brilliant, I'll join. I don't bike or run, but I walk a lot.

I know nothing about Lord of the rings but would love to join a exercise adding up the miles type challenge

I love Lord of the rings, read it at least once a year.

All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us
