Hi all  I wanted to check in, too. Somehow I typed my goal wrong on the initial post -- I meant I wanted to be 150 by the end of July, not 168 -- I'm already under that! Silly me.

So far so good on the working out front. I think I will take Sunday as my rest day (though I still may go for a leisurely stroll).

So far today:

- abdominal crunches
- Dance Dance Revolution on the Wii

I still want to at least go for a walk, if not walk/run later on this evening. To the extent that I can workout twice a day, I will!

In a few minutes I'm going to grill some fish and possibly have some veggies along with it.

Hello chickies!

I am headed out of town for the weekend, but determined to stick with my challenges! The water will be the hardest today since we have a 4 hour drive - I don't want to stop at the restroom every hour :D

Good morning! I just thought I would check in real quick. My "normal" weigh-in days are Fridays, so I am not sure if I should count my SW as 145 (Tuesday's weight) or go by whatever the scale says tomorrow am!

I do have a question for anybody (everybody): What are your favorite resistance band workout moves? I will be traveling for 2 weeks this month, so I am looking to put together a new routine that uses body weight and bands. I'm just trying tog et some fresh ideas because I am bored with my standbys!

VickieLou 07-01-2010 10:51 AM

My Goal for July weight loss challenge is to get back into the 230's. I weigh 244.4 today.

TheBunneh 07-01-2010 12:09 PM

I can't believe it's July already!! Boy, this year is just flying past me...

I was 182.4 on the scale this morning, but I'm pretty sure I'm retaining water. Or I may just be deluding myself. Nevertheless I'm going to wait until Sunday's weigh-in to subtract the 5 pounds and figure out where my end of July goal will be.

I'm soooo sore from working out Tuesday and Wednesday I may take a rest day today. Or I may just try to do something not very intense. I'm going to see how I feel this afternoon though.

This is from the Turbo Jam lower body video, but I really like the move they have where you tie a not in the resistance band and loop it around your legs - then do side steps and side leg lifts! Those really burn my thighs. (This is if I'm correct in thinking you mean the thin rubber bands, and not the rubber tubing with handles. If so just ignore me. :spin:)

I love resistance bands. I don't know if you are talking about the kind that are similar to jump ropes, or the type that you put around your ankles or arms [the former I despise lol]

I love to use the resistance band though, I like to do squats while standing on the band, I pull the band up to wrap around the back of my arms so my hands are on top of my shoulders and then do squats. I also do a lot of resistance work wrapping the band around something and working out my arms too.

fivestone 07-01-2010 01:25 PM

How about I typed in my end-of-July goal weight incorrectly AGAIN! Well, this time, I'm going to let it stay. 150 is pretty ambitious for the end of July, but I'll let it be my goal anyway. It'll be interesting to see how close I come.

Mommy in Motion 07-01-2010 02:37 PM

Thanks Olivia and Audrina!

I actually have both types of bands, (with and without the handles) I've never done Turbo Jam before- but I'll try that leg move. It's one I did in Boot Camp last summer, I almost forgot about it!

I'll have to remember that I can wrap the band around something! I get so bored standing with one foot on the band doing bicep curls, or lying down and doing chest press, etc... Gotta remember to use all of my surroundings!
