W.O.W. Valentine's Day Challenge~~Last WEEK!!

I cant believe this is the last week ladies. This challenge has flown by for me. Officially my w/i have followed the same patterns as previous Challenges , bouncing from 139-141. But my dailys have been mostly 137-138s this challenge.

:val1:
Week 1: 142
Week 2: 142
Week 3: 139
Week 4: 141
Week 5: 139
Week 6: M~141 T~138.8 W~136.8~TH~136.8

Even though I watched the party at home, I still over ate. I cant believe how bad I stuffed myself. I feel gross still.

We need to decide on our next challenge.

emiloots 02-08-2010 07:55 AM

It's about 7 weeks till April fools? Did horribly this weekend, we were snowed in Saturday so I actually got a lot of physical acticvity in with tons of shoveling - however I also made a batch of chocolate chip cookies which are pretty much gone now. Steak, potatoes and beer for dinner last night - sooo of course the scale reflected it this morning. My official weigh ins aren't until tomorrow so try and be an angel today and get rid of some of the water weight before then.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

W - 64+
E - increase activity in general
E - 24-29 pts
D - no 'treats' today!

jcatron243 02-08-2010 10:05 AM

Emily~Wow, it must be scary getting that much snow.

Sorry I had to bolt before I really finished my post. I remembered that on friday I left my house at 8 till and there was only 1 machine left open when I got to the gym. (BTW I live 4 blocks from the gym, it opens at 500am I got there at 455 at the latest). It wasn't so crazy today, but I still got there at 5 till.

I was telling you about my superbowl, uggg. We didn't have a lot of terrible food, but the sodium really kills me. I have been noticing whenever I indulge on salty treats the scale bounces. Its over. The scale will be back down Tomorrow.

For the next challenge I'm thinking it should run To the first Monday in April. April Fools Day is a thursday, Easter is the 4th so we can call it something like WOW No foolin its Easter Challenge. or something not so dorky. :)

Sounds like a great challenge name - more creative than anything I would've come up with :) We got 2' of snow, another foot is forecasted for tues-wed so it should be fun. I'm from upstate NY so this is actually nothing, but around here they just can't handle that type of accumulation, takes longer to plow etc.. I'm actually looking forward to tues/wed snow cause daycare will probably be closed and I'll get to stay home with the boys! Having a grapefruit for dinner (cause I ate chips and dip earlier - argh!). Have a great night everyone!

Mindy~I hope you get back down to the 170's!! I'm glad your foot is feeling better.

Tiara! Awsome w/i!! You totally rock!! I'm not much of a football fan, but I chose to root on the Saints since DH and the kids were for the Colts. Yes my team won.

Emily~We get paralyzed in the snow around here too. Last year we had a bunch of snow, I think we ended up with 5 inches :) Luckily we we had two 4 wheel drive vehicles so driving wasn't too stressful once I got used to it.

Last night DH wanted to go workout so I told him I would meet him there. He works out on his lunch break, but he can only get in 45 minutes, he likes the edge of working out after work as well. Anyhow, I think he likes me to go so he is obligated. But he tweaked his back and ran to the chiropractor for a quick adjustment and ended up going to the hospital for x-rays. I'm sure he is fine, but I did get in an extra 30 minutes of a light run.

Today~no workout I work then swim lessons. We are going to breeze through to the end of this session. Next session will be tough 610-730. We did this once before and it was a long night, especially when I work the next day. I will have dinner done before we go so the kiddos will eat while we are there, and for DH and I it will be soup and salad nights.

to day i weighed in at 234.6... i estimate i will need to lose a few more pounds to be able to comfortably fit in the pants but atleast im inches from ziping the zipper...lol... im determined..

also last night i worked out for 3 hours and that is the max on the wii fit plus. wow i found out something new..

tiara- really good job on the challenge...

i'm still around... i've stayed 180 the whole time. havent lost anything but havent gained either and am slowly getting back on track. i know i've said it before but isnt life a series of "getiing back on tracks"... lol.... had an awesome workout last night. work was kind of bad today. it can be so stressful sometimes and i'm not the best at letting things go. but i'm making it. everyone did so good on this challenge. i remember when i used to actually lose during a challenge b/c i was actually trying. what an awesome feeling.i'll get there again. my other issue is patience (or lack of). i know weight loss is a process and a lifelong commitment. it will happen sooner or later.

jeni- lol... it took me a while to get the name for the next challenge. it's cute. i like it.

JasonsLea 02-09-2010 11:27 PM

 everyone.

I hope you all have been well. I'm so-so. Still battling an extreme bout of depression. Looking for a job. Trying not to drown. Bills are due and I'm 6 days away from getting evicted. My BFF called to tell me that Nikolas, my godson, probably has sickle cell. I still don't have my W-2s. And my weight just keeps climbing. :halfempty

I won't be able to go to school next month either. I'll have to wait till August. :(

I might be in a research study though. It's for depression. I have an appointment Thursday to see if I qualify. I'm willing to do anything to feel something again and get some focus.

:grouphug:

jcatron243 02-10-2010 09:59 AM

 hi onestar and shari!

I'm very sore. My regular aerobics instructor is on vacation starting today so we did Zumba. Wow what a workout. I didn't know most of the routines, but it was a great workout.

DH has a doctors appt today and I will be going with him, so I doubt I will get in a second workout. But I am ok with that because my muscles can use a bit of a break. Working myself as hard as I have been is starting to wear on me. I feel great, but my muscles are a bit fatigued. But then again, I love the feeling of my workouts and I am an animal!!

TOM weight is shedding away this week. 178 this morning, hoping for 177 something tomorrow. Got in an extra workout tonight. Our horse got a bellyache and we walked her for about an hour. Then I did Shred level 2 for 30 min. Hope that did some good.

jcatron243 02-10-2010 09:29 PM

Mindy thats great!! I'm so glad that your scale is being kind :) You have worked so hard for it.

No extra workout tonight. I'm going to have a glass of wine, and chicken and salad for dinner. DH and I are going to watch a movie and just relax! I got my hair colored today. I absolutely love it. It was way too much $$ to spend on hair but it is awsome :)

WEEDin is great today. I think I may be a bit under my cals for the day, Not my norm but I will get them in by the end of the night I'm sure. (I forgot I wanted the extra carbs today. HMMM)

onestar 02-10-2010 09:48 PM

Workout is done!! And I am less than 2 miles to my goal of a marathon this month. I still have two weeks left of the month. Its weird tallying up the number of miles I do in a month, I had no idea. since Jan 11 I have done 50.5 miles.

Good Morning everyone! I got in my workout, and am about to start on my water. I am heading grocery shopping in about an hour.

Hey ladies -

Daycare is closed again today so I'm home with the boys again. Dan's home too but is working from home so not as fun. Got out in the snow and took some pics, boys had fun. Made a batch of 0 points soup for the next few days so hopefully that'll keep me away from some of the bad stuff cause I really like it. Feels like the weekend but it's not! Desmond's one year appt is tonight so we'll see how he's growing and :( shots...

hi all. had an overall good day today. work was slow today but we needed the break so it was nice. it rained ALL day. still raining. diet was god today. did not have any cookies that were brough to us at work. and surprisingly a rep actually brought a healthy lunch. ham sandwich on whole wheat bread and fresh fruit. i enjoyed it.

i made a soup/ stew kind of dish the other night and i love it. wanted to do something a little different with chicken so...

1.bake boneless skinless chicken breast
2.in a separate pot, cook veggies of your choioce (i used cut okra and squash); add a can of petite cut or stewed tomatoes (i love how they have all kinds of blends and mixtures and stuff with tomatoes now)
3.shred or cut chicken into bite size peices
4.in a large bowl, mix chicken and veggie/tomato mix

Emily~I hope your little mans appt went well. They are so cute!!

Tiara~I love having monthly exercise goals. It helps me focus on being healthy, versus what the scale says.

One~glad you had a good day, Your meal sound very yummy.

onestar, soup is usually what I like to eat when I want to eat but don't want to feel like I'm dieting.

Lately with the weather being so cold and me being overloaded with classes/studying/working part time, I've found myself eating fast food every day. (BTW, does anyone else have a harder time eating healthy when its cold?)

I am taking extra classes to help raise my terrible undergraduate GPA and help get me into grad school so it is REALLY important I do well. I think the stress of that on top of the convenience of fast food plus me using fast food as reward for studying=weight gain ):
Long story short I basically just fell off this challenge, period. The sad part is that eating fast food as a reward for studying didnt even make me feel better. I have to find a new reward.....

Polka~I turn to fast food as comfort food. Thats how I started gaining weight to begin with. Eating fast food everyday. I know its was my weakness, So I had to give it up. You need a non food related reward. I understand the stress of school and the ease of fast food, try looking for something healthier on the menu. Join us for the next challenge and work on your eating habits!!!

Tiara~Hi ya!!

I dd make it to workout yesterday :) yay! I ran 2.75 miles!! I made it to my marathon goal in 2weeks :) I'm going to see just how far I run this month!
Scale was nice today. The bad thing about working out after work: I'm not hungry afterwards. I need to eat, I only eat about 600 cals during the day then I eat a bigger dinner. I need to get in my cals!

Hi everyone! WOW - Valentine's Day is tomorrow! My official weigh in day is Monday so I'll use what the scale says bright and early Monday for my total loss. I think it will be a solid 10 lbs. if I can stay away from Valentine Day chocolates. I'll looking forward to hearing how everyone else did....

Jeni - will you be starting another challenge?

Emily - your boys are adorable! My "baby" has his 12-year check-up on Tuesday. His bd is not until March but I'm taking him a few weeks early because he has a little bump on his ear that I want to get looked at now. I think it is just a little boil or something along those lines....

Onestar - thanks for the soup recipe - I'll definitely try it. When you bake your chicken breast, do you put anything on it?

Lea - I hope things improve for you. I think for all of us it is helping to recite the serenity prayer when life gets challenging. We all have our challenges - it is how we choose to deal with them that makes a difference. If you think you need medication to help with the depression, reach out to resources in your community. They may have options to help with some of your other challenges as well. In my area - it is called Info Line - maybe there is one in your area as well.

Have a great day everyone and Happy early Valentine's Day! My husband and I hope to get an hour or so out of the house together tomorrow if his Mom can come stay with the kiddies. Jeanette

mom to 6- i didnt this time because i knew i would be mixing it with other ingredients that had enough flavor for me so.... but usually if i cook the chicken breast by itself i put a little garlic powder and lemon pepper

had work today... it was slow but had a little drama. i'm over it though. watched "The Hangover" last night. it was soooo funny. i would definitely recommend it. well, going to get another knee brace in a few. im realizing i need to wear one on each so they wont be hurting the next day. i feel old. i'm 26 and wearing knee braces to exercise. hmmm. anyways, then i'm off to do some errands and go to the movies. have a (early) happy valentine's day all! :val1:

I weighed this morning as well to finish the challenge - 170.5!!! That's a total of 12 lbs. lost for the challenge. Looking forward to the next challenge and to incorporating real, not hit-and-miss exercise. I am really inspired by everyone on this challenge who is committed to exercise.

One - thanks for the movie suggestion. I'm always looking for good movies. My husband and I were suppose to watch Amelia together last night - he watched it and I slept next to him. Boys have been keeping me hoppin' lately... :dizzy: It's all good! :)

Valentine's Day weight- 177.4 Hey. look!! I lost 2.4 pounds. AMAZING!!!

I was 176.4 (a new low) on Friday. Went up a bit yesterday, but still good. I need to get a little lower before my excrutiatingly terrible TOM gain starts. Even a few pounds a month would make me a happy camper.

Tiara- Happy Birthday and congrats on the loss. Keep it up girl!!!

Jeni- Keep on truckin, I mean runnin.

Onestar- One of my knees gives me fits. I just take my anti-inflam and keep going.

Mom- A ten pound loss would be awesome. Hope you make it.

Edit- MOM- Just saw your post. Great job. 12 pounds. WOOHOO!!!

Mindy~I'm glad you saw a loss!

Just popin in For a quick goodnight. I ate way too much tonight, so I am expecting my normal monday w/i of 141 tomorrow. My body is way sensitive to salt. Kids took us out for mexican. I avoided most of the rice and beans and stuck to a fajita, but it was still full of sodium and oil. But it is one day, and It was fun.

I am just going to edit this Post. Follow the Link to the new Challenge!
