Insanity is a Beachbody workout by Shaun T (he also does Hip Hop Abs). They are CRAZY workouts!!! It's really high intensity cardio. You work for a few minutes at your max heart rate, then take a 30 second break and do it again. I've never worked so hard in my life!! There are previews on youtube.

I'm up for this challenge. I went crazy the last few days, and this challenge is what I really need right now. My goal is to lose 5 lbs.

I keep watching the Insanity previews... it looks really fun. I am considering a fitness bootcamp next year as well. It's a 12-week one, three times a week. TC didn't you do a bootcamp awhile ago? how did you like it?

Platform and tyle - welcome!! Sounds like you both have reasonable goals! I find that having a challenge really helps me stay on track during this month - however hard that is!

Just stopping by for my weekly weigh in...

SW: 153.8
CW: 150.4
GW: 148

Big drop this week, which is funny because I didn't exercise all that much. I was just trying to maintain with some craziness going on, but once I got back to the gym in the later part of the week, the scale showed a nice drop! :carrot:

How do you guys find these boot camps? Who is offering yours? I have always wanted to do one but can't find one or don't even know where to look for one.

lol... I just googled "colorado springs fitness bootcamp" and found a few. The one I'm looking at is run by a guy who has his own personal training company (not associated with a gym), and it's actually someone that my husband's coworker's wife (got that? lol) uses for her personal training. She raves about how good he is.

It's $500 for 12 weeks/three times a week. Which is hefty but it works out to just over $13 a session.

Fat Pants - Awesome loss this week!!

To find my bootcamp, I just googled "My city Boot Camp" and found a bunch. Granted, I live in LA so there are a million boot camps to cater to the health conscious folks. I liked it, but I'm not sure I'd do it again. I'd definitely recommend it if you don't really know strength training moves to do on your own at a gym or if you really need a strict schedule and motivation, but I just didn't like having to go at a specific time and didn't really get close to the people in the class so it wasn't as fun as I thought it would be. It's always fun to change things up though!

5lbs to go! I'm going on a ski trip this weekend, so I'm hoping that will give me a significant drop for this week :D

Fat Pants 12-16-2009 09:30 AM

Wow great job on the losses, everyone!!! I was thinking yesterday that now is definitely the time to stay focused... anyone else feel like their entire life is currently surrounded by food? between Christmas parties and customers/partners sending us food gifts at work... :yikes: We have two more parties this weekend and that will be it as far as the food temptations go... until Christmas, that is!

hopefalls 12-17-2009 08:28 PM
