Just a quick fly by. I have so many things to so many of you. but i gotta get dinner goin and get ready for work. I did however want to share a NSV.

Went for my first workout at the gym and was able to pickup right where I left off on C25K. It was awesome. Then came home and took doggie for a walk and even ran more with him. i do think the quads are gonna be tight tomorrow though. OH wEll!!!!

But here is the bigger news. Today, for the first time in years and I mean many. I stood in front of DH naked!!!!! :)I still got a lotta weight to lose, but he said he was proud of me and could really see a difference. How motivating!!!! :) We talked and he gave me some tips on how to address certain areas that are really troublesome for me and it was great. Added a little spark to our dying relationship!!! Happy Happy!!!!

Weigh in tomorrow at Doctor office. Curious to see how that will go due to tough workout today and another planned for tomorrow in the morning. I go there in the afternoon.

Was out walking puppy and one of my neighbors even noticed. She wanted to know what I was doing and she has been motivated by seeing me run and walking the dog.

The cold is almost gone. Can breath 90% of the time out of my nose. :)

Learned some great massage tricks in school today. My lab partner is back and well so things are good!!! For anyone that is thinking about treating themselves to a massage, just make sure you drink lots of water after to fflush the toxins from the body. It usually makes for a good weighin for me the next day.

Love and light to all my peeps!!!
Jen

ms. perception - thanks. :carrot:

idream- nice to be seen! how about 3 days? :)

fitgirly- one year smoke free! congratts!!!!!

another wild, nutty day. sometimes i think im losing my mind. i had some cookies today, but am having grilled chicken and salad for dinner. i;m also going to sneak it some exercise after the kids go to bed, cause i feel super depressed, and i KNOW it's because i haven't had my endorphin fix!

have a good night all!!

ButterflyDiva 10-20-2009 07:21 PM

Just a quick little note. (I know I haven't been on in several days. Last week I got a little cold so all I really ate was soup, toast, crackers and fruit. Nothing special, however I still had energy to exercise so that's good Only missed two days.
The good news however I lost another pound. Just 3lbs away from my October mini goal of 125. I think that if I really buckle down I can make that goal by next week.

helpmelose 10-20-2009 07:58 PM

Hey ladies... thanks for all the replies and positive feedback.

Here is today:

Breakfast: EAS drink
Snack: light n fit yogurt
Lunch: leftover stew (yummy), sf peach applesauce
Snack: popcorn
Another snack: pb & j sandwich (not too good)

Exercise: 20 minutes on the treadmill

This afternoon I got a really bad headache (migraine) and pushed myself to exercise I wanted to do 30 but was able to do 20 (better than nothing) and then I was hungry when I got home. My schedule is hectic, I like to eat with my BF when he gets home from work at 1130pm so I usually get a snack and then make dinner for us both. I am thinking that I may need to add more food to my meals, I get hungry real quick after I am done eating. Any suggestions?? I am drinking water.... maybe need to kick that up a notch. But any ideas would be appreciated!!

ShrinkingAmy 10-20-2009 11:32 PM

jellofer - that's awesome! my DH has been very supportive too and that makes all the difference in the WORLD! Just hearing positive reinforcement from him makes me want to push harder. Just this evening, DH came in to where I was working out and sat on the couch and told me that I owed it to him to work out in my undies and bra for him LOL he says he loves my new body and he's very proud because he's seen me working hard at it and it's paying off. So... I told him that once I hit 130, I'd do it... God help me! That might even be worse than being naked! I know it won't end up being much of a "work out" so I'll have to plan accordingly and get another work out in earlier! lol.

JasonsLea 10-20-2009 11:39 PM

 girls!

I hope you all are doing great. Sorry I've been MIA. Working two jobs has fried my brain, my days are running together! :dizzy: Oddly, even though I'm totally sleep deprived, my intake has been very good. SP says that I've gone over my calories but most of it is rather healthy, hardly any junk so I don't care. Tomorrow should be my last day working at the VA. I'm slightly pensive but elated! :D This is like a whole new chapter of my life about to be opened. I can do this! :goodvibes

Shrinking Girl 10-21-2009 08:03 AM

Good Morning Chickies!

I don't really have enough time for personals. I found out yesterday that the conference I"m attending on Friday is actually TOMORROW which throws my sub plans out the window and I've been trying to come up with new plans a sub can actually execute... not to mention that tomorrow is the day I have my class full of behaviorally-challenged students and it's a lot for a sub to deal with and so I need to keep the buggers as busy as possible, but not so busy the sub feels overwhelmed and just decided not to do any of the plans (yes, it happens). So... yeah... I'm busy.

The scale read 200.0 today. I'm so close to seeing 199 I can barely stand it!! I'm also realizing that I might actually exceed my goal of 8 lbs this month. Not that I want to jinx myself but I"ve got 10 days left to lose 1 lb and I'm kind of hoping I can squeeze 2 in to rock this month with 9 lbs. It would make me feel way better since I've totally slacked off on the October Exercise Accountability thread and yeah, I've not met my goals over there and that's why. Nothing horrible... I haven't been doing my ab workouts (can you tell I hate ab workouts?).

Also thank you to those of you who shared your holiday plans with me! I really think I'll strive for a 6lb loss both months. I don't foresee myself going hog wild by any means but I can see how all of the family holidays I attend (seriously, divorced parents + being married to someone who has close ties with extended family = lots and lots of eating) will cause me to not lose as fast and possibly go backwards a couple of days.

Have a great day!

iDream 10-21-2009 08:39 AM

Good morning chickies!!!

Another fly by post here too, I'm heading to open gym today for a meet up with a bunch of other moms and their kiddos.

I'll be back for personals later. :)

SG~ Oh my goodness you're so CLOSE!!! :hyper: I am so excited for you!!! :carrot:

Okay, well, I've been a baking fool and I need to reign myself in. I made pumpkin carrot mini cakes, complete with cream cheese icing yesterday and they're dangerous!!! I mean, they're only 93 cals each and less than a gram of fat--but they are so GOOD!! I had 2 of them last night!!! Must get my head on straight before I find myself nibbling those bad boys all day long. Must refocus and buckle down--especially with my exercise routine being easier this week!!!

Well, I better go, the day's already been busy--we're on day 2 of painting and I'm hoping he gets at least all the trim and the garage door done today--we're supposed to get lots of rain tomorrow afternoon!

Ack! Okay, I'm shutting up now. Have a wonderful day ladies and don't forget to...

Drink Your Water!!!
:D

Ms Perception 10-21-2009 10:34 AM

SG-SOOOOO close! OMGoodness! You are doing great and I think your plan of more modest holiday goals is excellent. It's crazy to think you'd blow the whole month because of a few days. Heck, I know I'm going to enjoy the food and then just make sure to keep the quantities reasonable! You are doing an amzing job and I'm so excited for you being so close to such a great milestone!! No way you'll jinx yourself. You got this in the bag!

Sandye-Yum, those sound good. I had a little chat with myself about trying to bake some desserts from these (light) cookbooks I have. I haven't been making desserts hardly at all. When I do it's usually a regular recipe (full fat/cals). I need to get more healthy desserts into my rotation. The kids would appreciate ANY dessert. My "cheat" way of doing desserts for them was to buy pre-made junk from the store so I wasn't tempted. They have that kind of stuff a few nights a week and I portion it out appropriately so they don't overdo it. It works, but I don't want to be feeding them that junk. So, now I'm going to try to get to baking more healthy treats/desserts for them.

Amy-Funny DH! Mine is thrilled with the results, but doesn't necessarily care how I got there! LOL I don't really think watching me workout would do anything for him. :lol3:

I am down another pound to 140 on the nose, which officially puts me into Healthy BMI range! That's right, baby! I'm healthy AND only 1 pound from my monthly goal!! WAHOO!!! The foot feels a teeny bit better today and it was a short run today which probably helps, so I'm thinking/hoping it's on the mend and will all be behind me by month's end.

Shrinking Girl 10-21-2009 11:14 AM

CONGRATS MS P ON YOUR HEALTHY BMI!!!!!

Tummy Girl 10-21-2009 11:51 AM

Morning Lovely Ladies!

Sandye - Sorry about the muchie's I didn't mean to pass them on but I'm so glad I'm free of them for now. I'm going to really enjoy this light week. BUt really you're eating 1800 and not gaining, that's awesome! That opens up a world of food possibilities all the while staying in your calories :) Well TOM's been missing round these here parts since August so maybe he decided he didn't want to hang out with you anymore either, lol. OMG, put those cakes away, lol, I get in hot water with stuff like that too, baking is hard :(

MsP - You know I never thought of that, the calorie drop just felt like the thing to do, but I think you're right, it was just what the doctor ordered. OMG you're 140! Holy cow, that's healthy BMI then some :congrat::cheer3::cheer2:

FitGirlyGirl - Congrats on the anniversary first of all, I'm at 2.5 years without them too so I know how hard that is. I have a runny nose outside but I just carry a kleenx and wipe it every so often. It's very much cold related for me though, it's only happening now that it's cold outside.

GiveTLC - Glad your sons feeling better and that the oldest one is so eager that's awesome. What more could we all hope but that our children never have to go through all this but learn from our example and just avoid it entirely, oh how I hope. Enjoy that housework, if only when it's done ;)

Lauren - Welcome back! And you're almost at onederland omgoodness. So glad you came back :)

Shasha - Oh that does sound nasty, and tons of ppl have one leg slightly shorter than the other, just like everyone has one ear lower and one eye smaller, even if ever so slightly. That would have scared me right out of there too, I like not feeling pressured especially in a medical enviroment.

Jellofer - That is incredible! I'm so happy for you, proud of you that's just fantastic, and it's sad and nice that we all know how you feel, lol, but we do. And how nice that others are noticing, that's fantastic too and a really nice way to share the glories of a healthy lifestyle!

Dcapulet
- Hope you got in your workout and that your mood improves, this is so very difficult when you feel like that. Hang in threre.

Butterfly Diva - :carrot: on the loss, you're doing fantastic. I'm glad you're feeling better and that you still got your exercise in, that's commendable!

Helpmelose - My first thought was ensuring you're getting more fiber in your meals to help slow digestion and absorbtion of the carbs. Changing out to whole wheat bread (real whole wheat stuff not the "pretend" stuff, pasta, beans, all that good stuff). Also, you could add high volume food to your meals like veggies, spinach and lettuce and all those high volume greens fill your stomach up and don't even really count in the cal department. As long as you mind the dressing you can literally have 2 cups of salad for virtually few calories and then add on that whatever else you're eating and if you can fit anything else in your stomach you'll probably feel sick.

Amy - That's hilarious, I imagine that won't be much of a workout around here either, lol that just sounds like foreplay!

Jasonslea - Glad you're almost down to one job and maybe some sanity! You can do this and great job staying away from junk even with little sleep, taht is incredibly challenging.

SG - That's so exciting, tomorrow maybe? Oh I can't wait, that's a lot of hard work, exercise or not you're making the choices about what to put in your mouth so WTG! I also do something else with eating out like that, if someone else is preparing dinner and I've made the best choices I can then I don't step on the scale the next day b/c I know that it doesn't show my efforts, just the salt someone else uses. But if I make poor choices I always like to look at that so I remember it for future.

Down another pound and then some today to hit 156.6. This is working out super awesome, lol. I didn't even get a workout in as we got home too late and I didn't want to effect my sleep. Got a new dvd which makes me happy and got a ton of marvelous healthy beautiful food and cookbook or two, ya! We even hit the organic market and they have these marvelous oatmeal raisin vegan cookies which we always grab two off when we're there, fresh from the oven too, we were right on time. One for me and one for dd. They are like sweet bliss wrapped in happiness and it feels so nice to be finally getting to a place where I can count the calories but I'm not scared of food. It may sound weird but I honestly didn't touch a cookie, healthy or not for a very long time, pie either, still haven't done cake but that's not a biggie for me. It's just a matter for finding the healthiest option, counting the calories and off ya go, it's liberating!

Well I'm off to re-organize my pantry I bought too much stuff to fit in there and some stuff still needs to get thrown out.

Taurie 10-21-2009 12:45 PM

I had a case of the munchies too! Today in fact. Well, at least I'm still in my calorie limit... so long as my dinner is sensible. I can't even use TOM as an excuse. Though, maybe it was that spinning class I took this morning. hmmm?

FitGirlyGirl 10-21-2009 03:27 PM

GivTLC - That’s awesome that your son wants to get in better shape and that you are helping him with it. I hope the other one is feeling better soon.

Shasha - I’m sorry about the chiroquack. That’s a crummy way for them to run things. Maybe you shoul let your employer know what it was like? Just in case they ever consider inviting him back again.

Jellofer - Congrats on the gym and on being able to pick right back up with C25K. Major congrats on the naked in front of the hubby and talking with him. I hope your weigh in goes well.

Helpmelose - I am not sure what an EAS drink is, but maybe you should try switching to a solid breakfast? Some people can handle the shakes and things as their breakfast and for some people it messes them up for the whole rest of the day. Maybe you are one of the ones it messes up. Add more veggies to your meals to add bulk without adding guilt. You, like me, seem to have a thing for the popcorn. What kind are you eating? Is it air-popped? I get the old fashioned popcorn kernals and put a handful in a paper lunch bag, fold the top, and microwave it just like the bags made for the micro. That way I can allow myself more of it than even the best of the low calorie or low fat microwave ones. I’m sorry that you are hungry, I hate being hungry.

Amy - Your hubby sounds like a good one, how cute wanting to watch you workout in your undies. Mine loves my exercise flush which sometimes leads to more exercise, lol.

SG - Almost there! I am glad you decided that you are capable of still losing over the holidays, just maybe a bit less. We are all strong chicks and we can do it.

MsP - Way to go on the bmi. WooHoo! I’m also glad to hear your foot is steadily getting better.

I have to delay my body bugg weigh in by a day because I forgot to weigh myself this morning. That’s ok, I count it as an NSV. I mean, I forgot to weigh myself! I am also having some serious household issues. The television is out (I have spent about 4 hours on the phone with Dish Network tech support today), the kitchen sink sprung a leak, I think that though the furnace is definitely working its thermostat may be funky since it feels a lot hotter in here than it is supposed to be, and I thought I was going to be able to make spaghetti, but apparently I lack ingredients that I know we had (dern hubby). I am also having a major fight with TOM who is kicking my butt today even though he has been here for 15 days and should have long since gotten tired of me and gone away.

Nella 10-21-2009 04:00 PM

SG & Ms.P - :bravo::dance::high::congrat::broc::cheer:

So proud of you two!!

Amy - My DH says things like that too. I take it as a compliment, of course he would have tried to convince me to do that before I started losing, lol.

Dcapulet - I hope things calm down for you soon. My life has been hectic as well and no time for workouts, and that has made me a bit cranky (TOM isn't helping either)

Jello - That is wonderful news, and a big step on your journey! And the neighbor noticing means a lot too! You go girl!

Hope everyone is having a great day!

helpmelose 10-21-2009 07:17 PM

Hey Ladies.... there were not too many posts today so I think I can manage to get a reply or comment to most and no headache!!! WOO HOO!!! and I feel motivated today!!

My plan
B: SF maple and brown sugar oatmeal, 90 cal granola bar
S: popcorn (orville redenbachers natural popcorn) about 160 cals per bag, another granola bar (I actually dont eat popcorn all that much but I feel a big snack for not too many cals) I have bought the 99% fat free stuff before but was all gone
L: planet sub (green turkey in a low carb wrap) doesnt sound good lol has turkey breast, sprouts, guac, salsa, (has bacon, but i dont put on mine), i am pretty sure cheese, lettuce, and tomato
D: baked chicken, brown rice, and peas

FitGirly Ya I actually just bought the EAS shake drink and I dont care for it, kinda runny, I prefer slimfast, but someone has also suggested Special K shake/drink so I might give those a shot. My problem is I don't get up early enough to make breakfast I eat on the run. This morning I ate oatmeal in the car. But I should try to get up at least 15 minutes earlier and get something better in me. I was thinking cereal/oatmeal, and some fruit.

TummyGirl I am glad you said something about the bread. I thought I was eating something good for me. It is Sara Lee 45 calorie bread, but the first ingredient is WATER!!! Who would have thought. Next time I go grocery shopping I am going to look for whole wheat bread! I do eat ww pasta and I love beans! Great job on being down another pound!! :carrot:

MsPerception WOO HOO .... congrats on being in healthy BMI!!!

iDreamyyyuuummm that sounds good. I have pumpkin and I am thinking about making some cookies with it. But I think I found a kinda healthy recipe.... I will post so everyone can see.

SG Congrats!!! 199 is not very away!!!

Amy THat is awesome your hubby is supportive.... I think you can count that as a workout!!!

Off to do homework and exercise.... tonight I have TJ Fat Blaster and YBB Booty Blaster and A LOT of crunches!!! I am far away from my goal on crunches for the month, so I am going to JUMP it up a BIG notch!!!

Have a great night ladies!!! October is going by fast.... only 10 more days left
