Hiya ladies, I finally got my old PC out of storage today so I can at least use that until my laptop is fixed. Yay, no more posting with the ipod!
I have been missing from action and there is just waaay too much to catch up on personals with, but I at least wanted to say Sandye: W2G on your 5K! You rock! Cant wait to hear more details. SG--You look so much different! What awesome update pics, look at you just shrinking away! Well, a few more days until it has officially been over 3 weeks since TOM has arrived and tormented me and the scale. Seriously, I am officially the same weight today as I was 2 weeks ago. I am about ready to just start banging my head on the desk.....I don't have health insurance (I already pay $110 for DD to have insurance, and cant afford me too at this time), so have been putting off going to the doctors, but if this goes on much longer, I won't have a choice. I am really hoping this just stops in the next few days. I upped my calories the past 5 days or so (probably another reason the scale isn't my friend this week), and was hoping maybe that would help my body out, but TOM still stuck around so I decided to just go back to my normal diet and exercise regime and see what happens. Seriously, TOM had better go away soon, and the scale better say 249 by next Sun weigh in or I am going to be sooooooo pissed. Well, other than the neverending TOM, not much is going on. I did have one great experience this last week when my sister brought me a pair of pants she picked up at a garage sale. I had been able to fit into one pair of size 18 pants last month that I had lying around, but was too nervous to try another pair of 18s on at a store or something. Anyways, my sister had gotten me a size 18 pair of jeans that looked way too tiny, and I thought there was no way they were going to fit. I finally decided to try them on a few hours later to at least see how tight they were so I could use them for my next pair of goal pants.....and they slid right on! I couldnt believe it! That at least made me feel good for one day throughout this whoel horrible 3 week TOM ordeal, lol. I didnt have internet to find out what week 3 of the C25K program was, so I just ran for 13 minutes on the treadmill and hoped that was good enough. I just checked and realized that was way more than I needed for week 3, but oh well! Now I will be ready for the 16 minutes I need to run for week 4. (I am still just cramming all the running segments into 1 straight run to utilize my gym time. DD isnt fussing in childwatch anymore, so I know I have a full hour to work out, but I still want to get as much cardio in as possible while I am at the gym and dont want to waste time walking, so I am just running it all at once, lol). I am only running at a 4.5 (so okay, I am jogging, lmao) but figure I will work on speed once I can get my time endurance up. |
ShrinkingGirl - you 're looking awesome! way to go!
Krista - Welcome - you'll find great support here! Jellofer - Don't be discouraged! Keep on truckin' along and the weight WILL come off! As for me... Friday night I went out for Mexican with the fam and didn't do too great - had one brew too but I was able to come home and workout afterwards - did Pilates and another stretch workout because I was sore from the previous day's workout. Yesterday I didn't work out at all - took the day off, which is fine because I had worked out 8 days straight - but I do find that I eat worse on days I don't work out... Anyway, I just came in from my c25k w1d2. It was rough but I was jogging at a pretty good speed... some may even call it a run. We're going over to MIL's tonight for dinner - burgers and who-knows-what so I'll have to watch my intake. Luckily all I've had today is oatmeal and a lean cusine! I plan to do a strenght workout tonight after DD goes to bed - need to get my exercise goal minutes in! |
just a quick driveby before I go to bed -
thanks for the personals! so sorry I can't do them for everyone!!! did want to say to Shrinkingirl - what an amazing difference so far! you must be so pleased!!! keep up the great work! |
 girls!
I'm up this WI. It's totally my fault and I accept that. This week will be better! I restarted my SparkPeople account today and I plan on going to the gym at least 3x this week. I start training for my new job tomorrow! Wish me luck girls, the whole at home thing is new territory for me and I'm a little nervous. :^: |
Thanks shrinking AMY!!! I attacked my c25k today with everything I had. Then took the dog for a walk and had a single serving bag of microwave popcorn while watching the bears game. I am feeling better. Just discouraged.

Good evening girls! Oh I feel like such a flake for not checking in sooner, but it's been a busy weekend!
I have been completely off plan all weekend--not feeling to awful about it as I planned for some slacking, but man--I've been baaaaaaaaaaad! I won't go into all the horrid details (only my mom knows the truth! ;)) but let's just say I have not been the poster child of Making Good Choices where eating is concerned ;) No matter, I'll be back at it in full force tomorrow!!! I never got the basement cleaned out so I'll be shoving stuff out of my way to clear a spot for my P90X workout tomorrow bright and early! (Tummy, I think I'm going to go for the Lean program and see how things go from there--go ahead, call me chicken--I am!! :D) So here's the low down on the 5K: I got there super early--I hadn't gotten my registration packet and I was expecting tons of people (there wasn't) and so I got there at 7:30am. I spent the next hour sitting in my car and then I found my in-laws (who walked the 5K) and hung out with them until hubby and the kids got there and the race started. Hubby had just bought me a new iPod Shuffle (insert 'awww' right here--he bought it as a gift for all my hard work to make it to my goal. :) Go ahead, say it again...'awwww' ;)) and I hadn't even turned it on when they started the race! So I spent the first few minutes fumbling around while I was running trying to turn it on and stuff. I know I must have looked like such a noob!! LOL Anyway, it went pretty well. There were hills and that made me nervous, but I just took them slow and steady and made sure not to let myself go too fast once I got over them--just tried to keep the same steady pace. I finished in 30:40 and was pretty darn proud of myself as that was my fastest time yet! I had a blast and I'm looking forward to running another one as soon as I can find out when there's another one in town. :) Okay, well, my mom called me tonight wondering where the pic of me running was so I better get to posting it...here ya go--me, in all my goofy running glory: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2431/...22dbd2555a.jpg I really need to work on loosening my arms a bit I think--I had no idea I ran with them so high!!! Okay, I'll be back in the morning to catch up on personals and stuff! I hope everyone had a great weekend!!! :) |
Hey Ladies,
Just a (hopefully) quick post before I go snuggle in bed and listen to my book. - A few weeks ago I had to return my book to the library when I wasn't finished since it was in high demand. So, I found an mp3 version and put it on my mp3 player.- Which comes in handy when you are sick of reading all the college books. XD Well, only this one book in particular. Today, wasn't the greatest OP day, but I now with my meal plan prepared, that tomorrow will be a much better day. And my cold's going away, but waking up is the worst. We Can Do It Ladies <3 |
Wow! only 4 days into the month and 10 pages of posts!!
Hi ladies, I'm sorry I've been MIA. Things are super nuts right now and I barely check my email! Couch to 5 k finished: I ran for 50 minutes last week. My plan is to continue 3x a week until the race (5k on 10/18) and then SLOWLY build up to the 10k in December. When did I become an actual runner? :) |
shrinking girl- Wow there is a huge difference in your recent pics. I can't wait until I'm able to take pics after losing a bunch of weight.
Sandye- Congrats on your first 5k! I'm sure you will be running 10ks and half marathons in no time. jessicado- Good job on running for 13 minutes. Looks like you are ahead of schedule. So I am done with the first week of South Beach. I have one more week of restricted eating, then I begin Phase 2. So while I'm not craving crappy foods per se, but I don't like eating meat all the time. I guess that means I will just have to start adding more veggies. This week one of my high school friend's is coming to visit us. If we eat out, I already looked into some SB friendly restaurants, so I hope I'm ok. |
Sandye ~ I was runnin'! Good for you darling. You simply looks beautiful and fit. Just awesome. I'm so glad mom's around to keep pushing you as well. Mom gets an extra five cool points, for making you post that picture. ;) So how ya been?
Shrinking ~ Your pictures look great to darling. Looking good kiddo. Alright ladies....Gooooooooooooooooood Morning and it is definitely that. Well I'm finally, done packing. I still have cleaning and some landscaping to do, but other than that, I can finally sit on my arse for one day...AND that day is today. My poor hands are so swollen from working from sun up to sun down since last Wednesday, that I can barely turn door knobs...and this house is full of them. I weighed in at 170 even this morning. I'm thinking that's not accurate, as I am quite bloated and I believe I am retaining water due to the swollen muscles and stuff. Regardless I'm quite pleased that I went completely off plan and lived on pizza, vitamins, and diet coke for three weeks and still lost weight. So yeah, I'm full of win again. :woohoo: Oooooooooooooooh and Sandye, I got me a whole new house girly...everything is put into it's place and organized, so the cleaning challenges will be non exsistent for me, however, while we were moving in, I had the dry wall guys here redoing all the celings (which look great) so now every room has to be repainted. Color me pink painting challenge can commence when you are ready darling. Well I'm off. Must see the boys to school and hopefully try to catch up with all my sites and swing in and see how everyone is doing. I hope you ladies have the most awesome day ever. |
Shrinking-good job! You can really see the difference keep it up!
Sandye- congrats! I'd like to be able to run one day! GoooooooD Morning Ladies!!! Ate on plan this weekend! Had a great weekend... I'm planning the menu for my mom's 54th birthday party (It's her first birthday party everrrrr) I know it's not a milestone birthday but I didn't live close when she hit 50, so she didn't have a party...so I plan to make up for that! I'm going to call that day a cheat day...I'll be cooking about half the menu....like Thanksgiving in October! I've started on the party favors, invitations are out now its time to get all the shopping out of the way. Enjoy your day! |

Good Morning Ladies,
Cape Breton Chick - Welcome aboard, I just visited your lovely island this summer, lol. Look forward to getting to know you :) Bigmid - Oh I love a good rambling, that sounds like some marvelous coorporate planning, lol. Enjoy the conference and we'll catch up when you get back and congrats on the loss, that's wonderful! Miss Mallee - The run was great but chilly, I think the best part aside fromjust being able to do it at all is that b/c I've worked up slowly I'm not sore afterwards, that's was amaes me most I believe. that was the biggest personal post ever! Sandye's gonna be jelaous, lol. WTG on the marks in class too, that's pretty great and even with you being so nervous! Helpmelose - Wicked 4 pounds :carrot:! How I envy you and being able to eat like that, my full indicator broke some years ago so I have to count everything or I would never stop eating! THe run was great thanks for asking, the only challenging part about progression program like this is that even when you finish an accomplishment like that you have more to do the next week :fr:, no rest for the wicked. FSA - Hope you manage through your family stuff the best you can and we'll be thinking about you  Ruth - Goodness you're already down 1.6 this month, that's great, last month will just be one of those weird months, that our bodies all went crazy. Great job and fantastic chicken soup recipe, lol, it makes me long for my meat eating days (just a little bit, ;)) Jellofer - I hope that scale moves for you soon, the frustrations can seem endless with that. LOL that what I call running too, my mobile meditations, I do some of my best thinking on the road, just me and the darkness. Congrats on the shopping trip and some new clothes, a very nice reward for all that hard work. SG -:dance::dance::dance: That's right four dancing fatties just for you, you look incredible! Are those new clothes?!? The difference is amazing between the 20lbs, not to mention you look a ton happier :) And btw love your living room colour, that was my dinig room colour in my old house, just love it! Krista - :welcome: We love new folks around here. By all means come by and post often ask for support or a good kick in the butt, whatever you want or need and we'll do the best we can to help out. jen7 - You ran after drinking, you're my hero, lol. I have yet to be able to manage that, wine is my kryptonite. jessicado - First of all congrats on the jeans, that's super rockin awesome! And great that dd is used to the childcare there, that's going to make life so much eaiser. I've never heard of TOM being so crazy either but then again I've never missed mine entirely before either so it appears that weight loss is crazy on our cycles and you did drop a ton really fast there. But if all else fails the doctor would be the answer and boo that you have to pay for that at all. I can't wait until the government figures out how to give you all health care like we have up here, one day :) Amy - That's alot of eating out to navigate through, great job. And congrats on the running, lol, it may have taken you awhile to get going but now you're blazing! Velveteen - JasonsLea - Congrats on the job :carrot::carrot:That's fantastic news! Are you going to be working from home? Sandye - First, you're a :chicken:, oh that's so great I thought they only had a cow and that just won't have been nice, lol. But you can always change your mind after a day or so when you realize that you can do the other one. You just ran a 5K and remember who said they weren't a runner, hmmmm? Who was that :chin: oh yes, you! And now there's a picture of you running your thin bad self down the road! Oh that's all from me, lol, I'll cheer you on whatever you choose and you could always do lean and then after 3 months of that do classic for another three month, muhahaha. And tell you dh he's a sweety from me, that was so nice. And I'm so proud of you too, that's definitely not something the 200lb, January 2009, Sandye would have done, way to go a thousand times over! Dcapulet - Congrats on the 5K:carrot: and another racer I'm so excited for you. And i think I remember when you decided to become a runner, lol, and look now you are! Shasha - Right on finishing up week one, and that's some good planning for next weekend already, so I have no doubt you'll do great :) Delphi - Babe! Missed you  Can I have a copy of the pizza, vitamins and diet coke diet emailed to me please, lol. I'm glad you're almost settled and congrats on the weight, that must have been an awesome surprise! I hope that means we get to be blessed with you a bit more now that you're safe and sound :). How are your kidlets doing with all the changes? Cle - What a sweet daughter you are. I'm sure she'll appreciate the party nonetheless and I had to laugh cuz us Canadians actually have Thanksgiving in October so it took me a minute to process that, lol. Wtg being onplan over the weekend, great work! The runnings all done this morning, I got some high tech running leggings yesterday to go under my pants since my legs have been turning red and it was like heaven out there today. It just takes one layer of skin tight spandex and then I'm golden. My dh thought of this delightful yet super geeky solution to my darkness problem, a headlamp, yup that's right, he brought me home a light I can strap to my head, like a miner! Fortunatley today the moon was so bright I could see perfectly without assitance but I'm prepared to be a big huge nerd should the need arise. Found a new winter jacket too which was the biggest expense of this weight loss extravaganza. Although trading in my old size 18 for a medium, yes I'll say it again b/c I like it, it's a medium, was one of the best things I've got to do so far. Well Sandye, I don't know if the bad eating gods were upon us but I ate an unplanned waffle yesterday that I wasn't too thrilled about. Granted it was uber healthy without eggs and whole wheat and 267 calories but I ate it all standing up at the counter like some kind of crazed starved lunatic. And I wasn't hungry and it was after super when I normally dont' eat anymore. So I did some work yesterday on problem solving that kind of situation in the future so I don't resort to "gut filling" again. It was nice not to get all pissy about it though, just figure out how to prevent in the future and move on. Hope everyone has a marvelous Monday! |
Tummy ~ Missed you to man. And yeppers, I'll be around more now, that I am settled in. Kids are adjusting well and I am to...though, they are still going to their old school to. Lots of kids in this neighborhood and again, it isn't too far from where we used to live. Yup, I am so sick of pizza, I probably wont eat any for a year. I had all utensils, dishes and pans packed up, so it's been pizza EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. Definitely nice to get back to real food and when my body heals up, back to Maya. I miss her. So how goes life?
