Hey girls! Well Im in an airport in Allenstown, PA waiting to head back to Orlando. Im glad to see everyone has been so active in the forum and that several of you are down. I am also super happy that Maddiesmom, Burgundy and Stacie all chimed in this week, even if it was for a quick post, its good to hear from you guys.
Well, I did HORRIBLE on vacation and I had every intention of exercising and did on 2 days, I ran 2 miles but the rest of the time it rained...rained...rained. Not to mention it was in the 50's and 60's the WHOLE TIME and this Florida girl was FREEZING!!! My family was laughing at me because the ONLY thing I packed was shorts and tank tops, I actually had to go shopping and buy a couple pairs of pants to get through the week. Anyway, Im ready to get back in shape tomorrow, including a trip to the gym. Then I am going to weigh myself on Sunday and record the weight, no matter what it is. But I am warning you...I DEFINATELY gained weight. No regrets though, I enjoyed myself. Well, I imagine the next two days I will be busy taking care of things around the house so I may not be able to check in until Sunday. Have a great weekend and I look forward to my HONEST weigh in on Sunday. |
Nice to have you back, Lindy and glad you enjoyed your break! Missing exercise for a few days most likely won't affect your weight loss much at all and I'm sure you'll jump right back on your plan. And, being the girl who said 'bring it!', when I mentioned we should push each other being in a similar place and all, I know you're way too competitive (!!!) to let me get ahead of you in this whole count-down to skinnyness : )

Morning everyone! I am so tired. Last night a storm passed through here that freaked me out. At 2:45 I woke to the sound of thunder that would have compared to bombs going off overhead. At 2:54 the power flashed off long enough to reset all my clocks. So I went downstairs to turn news on figuring there would be someone somewhere explaining the radar cause they love doing that. NOPE! Just a tiny little image in the corner showing a tiny little radar that said t-storm warning but I couldn't tell if it was over or more of it coming. So it was over an hour before I went back to bed and it took a while to fall asleep. After the cats woke me up and I fed them, I fell asleep for 2 more hours on the sofa and I'm still so tired. :tired:
Yesterday was a good day for food in a sense. Since it was my furlough day, I had 2 friends over and made breakfast. Then last night I went with my best friend to a small wedding of a mutual friend then to the bride's parent's house for reception. The 'in a good sense' is that I didn't overeat at all yesterday. The foods were not diet in any sense, just regular food, sodium and all-but I didn't gorge myself like I've been doing for the past week. And yesterday I figured out why I had been doing that...TOM-UGH! Well, I weighed this morning and I'm down 2 lbs. I have NO idea how considering the food I've eaten and TOM on top of that, but I'll take it. I'm sure it's water and I still feel swollen. I did sweat my butt off cleaning the house like a crazy person for about an hour before my friends came over for breakfast. I suppose that helped. I think all the rain is done for a few days and I need to cut the grass. I don't think it will be dry enough today, so probably tomorrow. But it will be exercise. :) If I can muster the energy today, I will take a walk or get on my treadmill. I have to. Oh yeah, my car-Ha! There was something wrong with it. I needed a tune-up. Plugs, wires, rotary cap + labor (cha-CHING!) $213. :faint: But I'm told that isn't bad, actually decent AND I got my car back the same day after just showing up at my garage on a Monday morning. So I guess I really can't complain. -------------------------------------------- Nicole and Burgundy - Welcome back home! Hope the vacations were wonderful. As to the weight...you know the drill...back on the wagon! You will both do fine, I know it. It won't take long for it to come back off. Sandy - The kitchen is done AND you lost 2 more lbs.! Do a dance..:carrot: I'm about half way through Jillian's new book and it is scary. I want to find 'recipes' online for vinegar and baking soda to clean my house with. All that chemical crap stinks anyway! Your daughter is visiting so soon? I guess it's not like basic. Great! Staccie - Your hike sounds divine! Although my thighs would have been fried half way through...haha! I would love to be able to do that. I have to find someone to do it with. Also, love your new pic! Neesy - It's good to hear you're upbeat with maintaining. Keep going on walks with your hubbie and when the time comes, you will be able jump back in, no problem. Dancer - Down 1 lb while you were out of town is great! |
So, I been a little bit pre-occupied the last few days and totally forgot to post, oh dear, thanks for the warm welcome to the guys I aint seen before,
So I am another 1lb down today, hopefully next week I'll be in the 170's that will be great. I checked out that allrecipe website - thanks for that, also I have a greek friend who gave me a gorgeous recipe for lemon potatoes and slow roasted lamb, dunno if anyone is interested but it sounds soooooo delicious that I have to try it. Anyhoo, hope those on vacay have had a fab time, lucky lucky people, mines not till october grrrr:mad: Cya chicks  |
Hi Ladies,
Koshi and Deep Breath, congrats on your losses this week! Breath, GREAT job not overeating at the wedding, I know that can be hard. Most of the food is so good, but you would have paid for it later! :) Lindy, hope you enjoyed your vacation...a vacation isn't a vacation without indulging a little bit. Once you are back, you will get back into your routine and the weight will be gone in a snap. As for me, I'm not sure if it's the WW or what, but I'm down 3 pounds from last week. I know that I should be counting points, but I'm not as strict as I should be. I approximate my portion size as well as how many points everything has, so far I'm doing ok. I figure that I'll do it this way to save my sanity becuase I'll actually stick with it than if I had to get out a measuring cup and spoon every time I wanted to eat. But this is the lowest weight I have been in God knows how long...at least 7 or more years. So, once again, I am on the motivation train. I've been eating so well, there was a retirement party at work yesterday with carrot cake (my fave) and I had a piece without feeling guilty...I knew I had the calories to spare. I am going to the gym today to sign up, figuring that I need to get moving as well. They are having a special on personal training so I think I may purchase some of those, just so I can get my butt in gear and get into the gym. Hope you are all doing well! Have a great weekend! |
Hey ladies!!!
Ok, Im back in the swing of things. I weighed myself today and I gained, just as I thought, but seriously...considering what I ate, this really is not bad at all, so here goes...I GAINED 3 lbs! Back on the wagon. Its not like I tried and gained, I mean, I intentionally fell off the wagon and waved goodbye as I saw it drive away, lol. So, back on the wagon it is. I am confident that I will be back at 189 by the end of the month. :) Anyway...I am so happy to hear that so many of you are down in weight...good job Kelly, Koshi and Maddiesmom!!! Dance...your a newbie and know me too well...:) Thanks for the words of encouragement. I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. I had to catch up on my tanning this weekend because I got NONE in Connecticut. I am also dying my hair again tonight and am going MUCH lighter. My roots are growing out...thats the only bad thing about dying your hair. Hmpf... Ill check in later or tomorrow. |
Hello Ladies,
Lindy - Welcome home! I glad you got away, and just had good food and fun. It's important to 'let go' and not stress over food or exercise or life in general. I know if you kick it right back into your old schedule those 3lbs will fall off. Burgund - Sorry about the deer, but hey, it probably looked like some 'good eatin.' LOL.......Glad they enjoyed it! LOL..... Starting the kitchen, huh...good luck. I am sooo glad that is behind me. I did get the laundry room done too. I still have other cleaning to do, but am taking a break from it for a week. It's like neverending you know? My weight has been bouncing between 211 and 212. I can't seem to move it, but am going to give it some extra effort the next few days. Take-a-deep-breath - So glad your reading her book. It is an eye opener, isn't it?! I knew about the chemical water, chlorine, antiobiotics and all in the water since my husband was in the water business for years, but didn't even think about the foods. I always bought healthier stuff, or so I thought, but boy was I wrong. When its says No Preservatives, or Natural - that means nothing! I never realized the foods are stilled loaded with chemicals, antiobiotics, hormones, etc.... So, I am going to read the book again, because it is alot of information. I will tell you though, in 3 weeks, I feel better than I have felt in 20 or more years. I have more energy, my mind in clearer, my weight is dropping, I am not hungry and crave nothing anymore. It is amazing how good you can feel when you get all that crap out of your body and home. Oh, yes, household cleaners, I got rid of all of them and alot of plastic stuff. I only use home made cleaners or Zoe Clean, which are part of my home business. They are EPA stamped & DFE. No chemicals or anything in them. Lastly, my daughter is stationed at Kings Bay, Ga which is 21/2 hours from here, so we are very fortunate enough to see her every 2 weeks!!!! Maddiesmom - So good to see you back on here. Congratulations on the 3 lbs gone - thats wonderful!! You are catching up to Lindy! LOL....... Hello to everyone else, and congrate Kosh on the lb lost. I will post more later, but for now I need to get back to work. I hope you all have a great relaxing Sunday! Will check in later. Check in later! |
Woot-woot, I must have been retaining water when I weighed in because I hopped on the scale this morning (I know I shouldnt have but I did) and Im at 191! Only a couple of pounds away. Yay.
Mygrits - can you believe this freakin weather?! Today is my last day of vaca. I always take 1 day off following the week Im on vacation to "ease" back into my work schedule. So today, cleaning and household projects. Then I might take a trip to the pool, we'll see. So let me tell you, yesterday we broke the bad news to Gabriella (my daughter) that me and her dad were separating and that he would be moving out on Sunday. Man oh man, I have NEVER felt pain like I did in that moment. She broke down screaming and crying, begging us not to separate...wow, I had no clue it would be this hard. I knew it would be difficult but that broke my heart. To make matters worst, John managed to stay strong but as soon as Gab walked out of the room, he broke down crying. Ahhhh!!! This was my decision and I made everyone in my house upset, it just breaks my hearts. Well, Gabriella got over it relatively fast, I mean, I know its going to be on her mind and bother her but the fact that we are going to have family days and she and John and going to have Gabby and Daddy days seems to have eased her mind. We will see what happens. Sorry for babbling, I just had to get that out there. Ill check in later. |
Lindy - glad to hear the happy scale news but sorry to hear that you're dealing with tough stuff on the home front. How old is your daughter?
Maddiesmom - congrats on the three pounds - that's great! mygritsconfessions - sounds like you are making great progress on the cleaning front - good for you! takeadeepbreath - congrats on the loss - way to go! koshi - congrats on losing another pound! And yes, definitely interested in your lamb recipe - please post it if you get a chance - sounds yummy! I'm definitely not setting any world records at weight loss. I'm sticking to plan and exercising at least 5x a week. Any suggestions for kicking it up a notch? According to the daily plate, at a calorie level of 1400/day, I should be losing 2lbs/week and I'm losing more like 1lb a week. |
Dance...are you calorie cycling? Thats how I started to see bigger numbers. I would do several days at 1600 calories, then one day at 2200 calories, then 2 days at 1300 calories. My body never adjusted and kept on losing, I just started this so its fairly new. Thanks for your empathy on the home front, we have been separated for 3 months now so the pain is over for the most part and its not to say we wont work it out, I just need a break to get my priorities straight and he was definately affecting that, especially with my weight loss and financial situation. Also, I really want him to appreciate me and I think the only way that will happen is by having him fend for himself again. Anyway, Gabriella is 7, going to be 8 in July. Me and John are still great friends and it is not a lost cause, we will see in time.
Well, I did very good with food today, so lets see where that gets me. |
Nothing to say at the moment. Playing on my friend's new iPhone.....squealing with excitement! I soooooo gotta get me one of these. :)
I finally made my soup tonight (while we at drive-thru, ugh!). work was bad. 3 more people let go Friday while I was off. it's really scary.when I heard that along with more stuff, my stomach started turning. I am starting to feel all of this stress pysically. but hey, I am playing on an iPhone and that makes me feel good right now...haha! Lindy - hang in there with gabriella. I'm sure there are going to be many ups and downs. Well this phone is fun but kinda a pain to use in a forum. I'll stick to my computer in the future...LOL! I will check in a comment more later when I can type quicker |
Just a quick check in before bed. I got on the scale this morning. I was pretty happy. When I got back from vacation I was at 222.8, today I was at 220.6. So I am getting back to where I was before vacay.
Lindy-yay for losing what was gained on vacation, right. Hope things get better for Gabriella and you and John. Kelly-good job for being down 2 lbs. $213 is not bad for your car, at least it wasnt something too major. Koshi-wow, 180 you are doing great. I want to be down there with you. Maddiesmom-congrats on being at your lowest weight in 7 years. Glad WW is working for you. mygirts-I was out in the garden today and the deer left some for me. I cant wait to eat it. I have to catch up to you if you are at 211. Dancer-1 lb a week is still good. I need to kick it into gear again and start losing more. At least I have lost a few that I gained. Good night everyone |
Lindy - totally understand on the needing a break to focus on your priorities and to get him to appreciate you. My bf has some mood issues (basically depression that comes and goes) and for the last month or so we haven't been spending much time together while he was in a not so good place. It actually made it much easier to focus on eating on plan and sticking to my exercise routine. Keep us posted on how you're doing with the separation and how your daughter is. And thanks for the calorie cycling idea - I've been doing that a little but not really intentionally - I'll give it a shot.
Burgundyrayne - nice progress! Heading out for another run - hoping that helps me lose a bit this week : ) |
Ahhhh...one of the downfalls to vacation...catching up at work!!! God, I didnt think it was possible to get so many emails and worst off-none of it is spam!!! So far so good today, I am about to update my ticker because I already lost all my vaca weight and I really didnt even do much, just got back on track with healthy eating. Today was my first day back in the gym and Im pretty sure I am going to be suffering tomorrow. Although I did keep up on time as far as walking goes, so thats good. Its always hard to get back into the routine.
Glad to hear everyone is doing well. Kelly - fingers crossed, your job is not in jeopardy. I know a lot of companies are doing layoffs but just keep in mind, they do need to keep some people to keep this business operational. Just keep yourself busy and outshine the others. :) Burgundy - yay for the drop!!! Thanks for your support. How is your sister doing anyway? You may have briefed us but it is so hard to play catch up. Dance - good luck with the change in routine, hopefully you see good results. It must be so nice to live in Denver. I have always said that if I ever visit there, I may not come back. Everything I see on the travel channels and just researching the cities, it looks like such a quaint place to live with gorgeous (and cold) weather. Ill try to catch up later. Later chickas! |
Hi Ladies,
Lindy - The heat!! Oh my gosh the pool is even too warm! What the heck! I mean how the heck to you even cool off around here anymore? Sorry about Gabriella, I know it is hard, but she will adjust in time. Congrates on being 2 lbs away from where you were, that is great and you should be there in no time. Burgund - Congrates to you to being close to where you were before vacation. You should drop those couple of pounds fast. Oh, yes, and glad the dear left you some yummies! LOL..... Well, this heat in Florida has totally screwed up my workouts. I mean I can't even go out at 6am and breathe it is so humid and hot you can cut it with a knife! Sooooo, I guess I need to change up my routine (again). More workouts inside, maybe swimming laps and I don't know - I will figure it out I suppose. Have a great day everyone! |
