Lindy - Oooh - I like the purse in the car strategy. Great strategizing on the cake!

Hi Ladies,

I have missed being on here the last 3 days -sorry, but life has caught me by surprise, and of course TOM - ugh! I have been amazed that I haven't gained weight, since I haven't really exercised in over a week, or more. I am wondering if what Jillian writes in her book is true, which is when you eat organic foods you can actually eat more calories, since you not ingesting the hormones, pesticides, and preservatives. I don't know, but whatever is happening I'm glad......LOL..... Tomorrow is D-Day and I am back at exercising and a better routine. I do miss it, which is kind of weird I guess, but exercising is a great stress reliever and I seem to have more energy throughout the day.

Neesy - Don't be hard on you or your husband be hard on yourselfs with weight gain, we all go through it, especially in more emotional times. Your husband leaving IS one of those times. When he is in boot camp and you have all that extra time to focus on you, your health and wowing him when he gets back, you will lose! As far as meals, Lindy is right on, I too have to have things ready to eat in the frigerator, which keeps me on target. I also have ready grab foods in the cupboard. If I don't have anything prepared or easy to grab - I eat bad stuff that I shouldn't.

Maddiesmom - Dang, an hour and a half? I do feel guilty now not doing anything for over a week. That is tremendous and I am really proud of you! Awesome!!

Have a great night ladies.

Mygrits - good for you for maintaining! Totally agree on exercising giving you more energy but don't really understand why - do you?

Not perfect on eating today but around 1500 cal so workable and 45 min elliptical. Discount shopping at Ross and TJ Maxx this evening to find some corporate-y work clothes that are the right size and got some good deals. It is definitely much easier to find stuff that looks okay on me now that I'm not trying to camouflage a giant spare tire around my middle.

Hope everyone had a good day... I'm off to take a bath to prevent further eating : )

Morning girls!

Happy Friday!!! All in all I did pretty good yesteryday and consumed about 1300 calories. I had a little taste of chocolate batter last night but not the cake. Last night I grilled some shrimp and chicken with red pepper, mushrooms, zucchini, and red onions. I wish I would have thrown in some pineapple but it was just too expensive. Anywho...I am having another confident day and am ready to get this pound off. If I could just maintain this week, I would be happy because I had 2 slip up days and NO GYM TIME the last 3 days...uh, did I forget to mention that in my previous posts? Hmmm..guilty as charged. There is a weird reasoning behind it though. There is this guy that hit on me at the gym and I am definately not ready to date anytime soon so I kinda blew him off and now Im afraid to go back THIS WEEK because he seemed a little peeved. I dont have to converse with him, so its not that big of a deal but I figure if I lay low for a few days, Ill be cool by next week. Stupid I know, but I feel more comfortable handling it this way.

Moving forward...

Mygrits - sorry to hear about TOM and how he sabotaged your "diet" this week. You'll have to let us know how your exercise routine is going today.

Dance - yay for shopping! I am wearing a size Large now in tops and SOME Mediums fit me ok (a little snug but I can still pull it off). What size are you now (if your not uncomfortable sharing)? Oh, I also am wearing a size 12 in pants (most pants), some are a size 14 depending on who makes them.

Ok, time for me to get to work. Good luck today.

Happy Friday!

My niece is spending the night tonight so I'm looking forward to some girl time (she's 12). Rest day for me but I'm going to shoot for a short exercise hike tomorrow morning after I drop her off. I'm aiming for 1400 cal or lower for today.

Lindy - The tops I bought last night were Ls and one M - it seems to depend on the cut. So cool to be out of XL and above. My pants size is taking longer to drop, probably since I carry my weight right around my waist, rather than hips and thighs. I started out at 39" waist, it's now 35" 18 lbs later but I still have a long way to go. I'm wearing 16s and 14s still so I'm a wee bit envious of your 12s : )

luckylindy 07-17-2009 09:22 AM

Dance - ya know what is weird? I read in certain forums that girls who weigh 150 will wear size 12's and such and I remember when I got down to 170, I was in a 10, 165 and I was in a tight 8, so its always been that way. I dont really understand it because its not like Im tall, Im only 5'5'. Oh well...Ill take it. I would say I am very evenly proportioned. I dont carry more weight in one area than another. When I lose weight, I lose it in my hips, thighs, tummy, chest...its always been like that. I guess Im lucky. Good for you for getting into size Medium tops. Ya know what I would LOVE for you to do one day. Any pics you may have from your hikes or even scenic views of where you live, can you send them to me? I can give you my email address if thats easier. I ask because down the road, I would seriously like to consider a trip there and eventually a home, possibly a vacation home? What is the real estate market like there?

Ok...babbling AGAIN.

luckylindy 07-17-2009 01:15 PM

Hmmm...Im trucking along today. Im feeling pretty hungry but I had a huge lunch so Im going to try and down 3 cups of water and see if I feel better. I had shrimp and chicken kabobs for lunch, a McDonalds English Muffin for breakfast with a large coffee and a organic granola bar. Total calorie consumption is at about 900 (I also had a Mountain Dew-which is terrrible, but it is factored into the my calories). So, Im having the other half of my shrimp kabobs tonight, which should put me at 1200, plus another 200 I have "budgeted" for snacks. Let me go get that cup of water now...naming all this food is really making me hungry right now.

dancerindenver 07-17-2009 01:35 PM

Lindy - good plan on the water consumption - keep up the good work. And yeah, I can send you all kinds of Colo pix. I'll PM a link to some facebook pix, that's probably the easiest.

luckylindy 07-17-2009 02:20 PM

Cool! Im actually with Facebook, so if anyone else is, look we up so I can add you to my friends page...

Happy Friday Ladies

Ok, I didn't exercise - blah........yes, this is how I feel......blah. I hate it. I am so ticked at myself for sleeping late and being a lazy bum. Dance, I think it rev's up my metabolism and blood flow, which just makes me energized for the day. It also releases endorphins, which are the 'happy hormones'....LOL. I need some of those! I am going to make the best attempt possible to workout upstairs later, so the day isn't a whole loss. My eating sucked last night, but again I haven't really gained that I can see. It is hard to calculate with TOM tormenting me. Today has been better, I am at approximately 600 calories so far (remember I slept in though).

Oh I too am on Facebook under Sandra Dosh Spell, Deland, Fl (same pic that is on here). Burgund is also on there, you can find her under my friends.

Lindy - What a compliment a guy hit on you at the gym! Woo Hoo! I know it can be a pass in the rear too. Forget him, just focus on you and go forward. He is probably over it by now and if he does approach again just let him know you appreciate it, but your not interested right now. Hopefully he will get the hint and look elsewhere.

I will check in later, I am running behind on my work....lol......ugh and blah.....

mygritsconfessions 07-17-2009 03:21 PM

Hey Lindy, I just did a search for you on FB and it couldn't find you. Sooo, try to find me, Ok? Oh, and anyone else!!

luckylindy 07-17-2009 03:34 PM

Ok. I just remembered...its Nikki McMahon, duh! (FOR FACEBOOK)

dancerindenver 07-17-2009 03:40 PM

Girls -
I'll look for you guys on FB. Can we make a deal though? I don't want to publicize weight stuff to my wider group of friends - can we agree to be on the discreet side and save the weight loss conversation between us for 3FC? I hope that doesn't offend anyone and hope you're okay with it : )

Did good at lunch today - saving up calories to take my niece out to dinner at an asian place. Should be yummy.

luckylindy 07-17-2009 07:51 PM

Oh yeah...Im totally cool with not publicizing it. I rather not, I dont want all my family and friends to know I am obsessive with weight loss. lol...sounds silly, I know.

mygritsconfessions 07-17-2009 07:57 PM

Hey Girls,

Ok, Lindy.....ugh, Nikki.....LOL, gosh user names and real names, I'll am confused......LOL I will look you up again.

Dance, yes absolutely. Burgund and I have visited on there for a few months, but not about weight and if we mention this forum for whatever reason we have put 3FC, or chicks.

I need to go change, my daughter just said she is driving in for the night, and wants us to met Jason???????? Good grief, another boyfriend inspection! LOL...my husband is good at that - he was a Navy Seal. I wonder sometimes if she brings them here to be intimidated, so they 'stay in line!' LOL......funny.
