Interesting review of EA active, newshinyme. I may have to start saving up for more Wii "games" like Active or My Fitness Coach.
I've been upping my workouts to lose this last naughty pound, so we'll see what happens....only a few days left! |

Ms. P.: I had posted last week that I thought it was time for me to up the intensity of my workouts and I believe the Active is definitely doing it for me, so I definitely recommend it. Delphi has a valid point with the used video games, I've done that and you do save a bit. The EA A. might be too new to be available already, but you might be able to rent it to give it a whirl.

Thanks Newshinyme! I'm definitely gonna pick Active up tomorrow! You have me uber excited about it!

HI girls :) You got me excited about the active as well. That sounds good! Came in to post my minutes for good measure and as incentive to get my minutes in. Crazymamaof4, so glad your feeling better. I'm sure the little one will be okay, they bounce back quickly. How nice that he likes school and his teacher that way! :). Have a great night all.

Hi all,
I know I haven't touched base in a while since I haven't been on line too much lately, but wanted to let everyone know that I have been keeping up with doing my strength training routine twice a week. I am getting into it, and find that if I listen to music (usually 80s hits like Madonna!) that it's less boring. Trusting that more muscle will make my metabolism more efficient! And still walking as much as I can. Keep up the great work everybody! |

Thanks for the tips and info, Delphi and Newshinyme!
I will have to check out the used game store...and renting is a good thought too! I am back to doing my walk-at-home dvds 3 or 5 miles which have helped me feel more like I'm moving forward. I also use my Wii on-and-off. It's warm enough now to include some tennis into my activities, too. I just love spring and summer! I forgot to mention it in the other thread, but it's SO GOOD to see your posts again, FullSteam!! You're such a joy to have around! |
Hi Ladies!! Well, I took the day off of strength training today. It's so great to have "leftover" days in May to add to this last week, so that I can take off without blowing my goal!! I actually had planned to go workout today, but my daughter came home for an orthodontist appt in town, so I spent the morning with her. Plus, believe it or not, I woke up with my leg muscles more sore than usual! Woohoo! That's the first time! I feel like I'm accomplishing something! My rheumatoid arthritis/fibromyalsia pain always shields that, so I've never experienced that feeling before, lol! I think what did it is that I powerwalked for an additional hour yesterday, plus, I had upped my leg weights during strength training the day before. I'm between 70 and 130 lbs on my leg weights now. I've upped my chest and back weights too, but my arm weights, nope, it's just too hard on my joints, so I haven't been able to handle that yet, but I keep trying, lol! So I gave my weary muscles a rest and visited with my daughter instead. I'll walk or ride my recumbent bike tonight and do my final strength training of the month tomorrow!! Woohoo! :carrot:
Cmof4, ohhhh, I hope your boys get along fine! That is so cute! I miss my children being that age!! :) WTG on exercising through that cold, girlie! :cp: NSM, your EA Active sounds great! Yay!! You are obviously getting quite a workout!! Good for you! :running: Bluerideggirl, great job in keeping up with your exercise!! You're so right, music always makes it better! Let me know at the very end of May if you make your goal (or maybe you've already made it!) so that I can post it! :trampo: May 1--Strength trained! Walked! May 2--Walked! May 3--Walked! Ms. P.: Let me know if you are able to find the game, when Delphi gets hers, we can have our little in-thread support group :D. And maybe FSA will jump in too ;)
That Active thing kicked my butt more than I actually thought. I went for a 2+ hour walk yesterday after the workout and by the end of the day I could barely move LOL. I woke up so sore this morning that sitting in the bathroom was painful, once I got warmed up and moving more it became more bearable, but I am definitely feeling it still. I am so glad the game actually had a scheduled day off today. I still got a long walk today, so it's all good :D May 1-10: Exercise days: 5 Exercise minutes: 185 May 11 - 17: Exercise days: 5 Exercise Minutes: 235 May 18 -24: Exercise days: 4 Exercise Minutes: 155 Week of may 25 - 31: May 25: 0 May 26: EA Active Workout + Tennis Drills = 26 min. Good evening ladies! Still plugging along, didn't do quite as long of a cardio workout today--got home from our day trip around 6:30, fed the kids, looked at the clock and realized I hadn't eaten yet. Hubby was going to be home soon so I decided to work out first so that I wasn't working out on full stomach--blech! But, even though it was shorter, I did get it in! ;)
