Shyleen- Glad to hear from you. I can't imagine what you are going through. I know you'll be able to get back on track.

Things are still going forward for me. I have almost lost 10 pounds. I'm hoping to get to my goal, but I'm not sure yet.

Hope everyone is having a good night.

FullSteamAhead 10-23-2008 06:56 AM

Goodmorning girls :)

I'm still here with you all but it's been a yucky past 2 days. I woke up with a horrible cold yesterday and just been laid up. My male kitty is regressing again so it's back to the doc for him today. THankgoodness DH is coming back today and can bring him down as I'm still sick. Planwise has been good despite being sick (and an off OP sat. night meal w/extra grains and 2 serv. grains yest. instead of 1). Ohhhhhh, it's a darn good thing I made extra a few days ago and froze some food. I was too sick to cook last night and did not have my planned meal so that frozen meal I had saaaaaaaved me big time!

Leneeeeeeee, speaking of kitties, I am sooooo glad that you found your kitty! : ) THat is wonderful news. What a nice lady that was to have taken in your kitty and take care of him. I am glad his kidneys are ok, etc..keep us poted. In the meantime, give your little "furball" a pet from me too. Bravo on the run........it got cold here too! brrrrrr.

Hattie, congrats on the 25 lb. loss...thats super :carrot::carrot: keep on truckin : ).

Jen, congrats on being in onderlandddd! wtg! : )

Christian, thanks for sending the good vibes our way, right back at you! : ) Are you planning to start a christmas thread like 1 month until christmas, etc. or joining the existing thread? Whatever you ladies decide or do, I would love to join you all as well. Count me in!!! :carrot:

urock mom, hope you had a nice time at dinner last night. I wish more restaurants would offer more healthy meal choices too! Some are finally coming around. We plan to go to dinner sat. night (I should be ok by then I hope). I really look forward to my night out but not sure where we are going yet. I weigh in tomorrow too, today will complete my 3 weeks on the SBD. Hoping for a loss, we'll see what happens. I hide my scale until the end of the week, I can't handle it otherwise......it drives me nuts! lol.

Barbara jean, congratulations on the loss :carrot::carrot:

Luckymomof2, I couldn't say it any better than the other girls. Good for you for getting back on track during this emotional time, keep up the good work : ) one day at a time.

Bigmomma, right on! : ) congratulations on the loss :carrot::carrot:

Hope I didn't leave anyone out, I'm a little slow this morning. As for me, I am just going to stay in and nurse this cold. Happy DH is coming back today. I took out some haddock to make dinner tonight and I am making enough to have it for dinner tonight and tomorrow. It's so nice to be here. I hope you all have a super day, let's keep on truckin' :)

Christian 10-23-2008 07:48 AM

Fullsteam- Oh sis, I hope you feel better quick  You be sure to get lots of rest today so you can spend quality time with your DH at that wonderful dinner your cooking ;)

I need your thought on the Christmas challenge ladies, should we just go for a Valentines day challenge instead?? That would give us a little over 10 weeks for another goal?? I forgot that it was only 4 weeks after Thanksgiving for Christmas  Let me know what you think...I just want to hang out with you guys so it doesnt matter what part of these boards we visit in, where you all go ...I go :grouphug:

urockmom 10-23-2008 11:15 AM

Goodness ladies! I left for a few hours yesterday and all kinds of things happened!

Fullsteam- I hope that you feel better soon! Colds are just awful and the older I get the worse they get!

Luckymomof2-That is some SERIOUS drama! I know that we all are sending you a big :grouphug: One thing that has come through loud & clear on 3FC is that we have to stop beating ourselves up about everything. You had a huge shock and were dealing with that. That's OK!!! Now you're back on track so good for you!! The exercise will probably really help with what are no doubt huge levels of stress. :stress:

Bigmomma- That is a great loss! :carrot:

Barbarajean-Good for you staying on plan yesterday. I did really well at dinner, plain steak and two helpings of veggies, but I totally blew it on two glasses of wine! So, I not only messed up the day but I felt awful this morning. :dz:

Christie-I think that after Thanksgiving (ONLY FIVE WEEKS! :fr:) I will probably do better with a short challenge to Christmas. Valentine's Day seems really, really, really far away. Especially once the cold really sets in and the days are short and the snow starts flying.... However, whatever goal will have to be pretty small because of the short time between the holidays and worse yet, the COOKIES! :)

Hope everyone has a great day!!

Kathy5509 10-23-2008 11:44 AM

Hi all, I just started yesterday, I'm not sure if it's too late to join the Thanksgiving Challenge. If not, I hope to loose 8 ponds before Turkey day. I've followed WW before, so I may find my way back there. Hopefully, someone will tell me if it's too late... Here goes....
Kathy

Christian 10-23-2008 11:47 AM

Come on in Kathy...You are welcome here  I have done WW in the past also and it works just great, So here is to your success

Luckymomof2 10-23-2008 01:08 PM

Goodmorning ladies
Thanks for all of the encouragement.
A christ,as challenge sounds good for a short say.. 5 lb challenge, but a Valentines one sounds really good to me to becasue Valentines day is mine and hubby's anniversary, and I'd love to be a smokin hot 118 lbs!!!

lene1974 10-23-2008 04:17 PM

Congrats Big Momma and Barbara on the loss. Fantastic!!

Barbara~I saw C25K in your siggie. Are you doing that program now or is that your spring plan? That's how I started running and I run anywhere from 3.2 - 5.5 miles now. I never considered myself a runner but running a 5K race was on my bucket list so I needed to get in shape. I'm a runner now :D Still makes me smile to be able to say that.

Christian~I don't care which way you decide to go with the challenge. I'm probably leaning towards Valentine's day. I think the 4 weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas is not necessarily a time for losing weight for me. Not that I won't be taking care of myself and I still want some accountability but I doubt that I will be losing too much weight. That being said I'll go with the group's decision.

Fullsteam~I am so sorry about your kitty. I hope the vet can do something to help him. I hope you are feeling a little better, sorry you were down and out the last couple of days. :getwell: I use to do freezer cooking quite a bit. It was always wonderful to know my meal was in there and ready to go.

urock~ hi, I hope you had a great day :)

Kathy~ Hi and Welcome! Best of luck with your 8lb goal, you can do it!

Shyleen~ 118lbs. W.O.W.

Okay, so I decided to put my mini goal for the week on here to keep myself in check.
drink 64 ozs of H2O/daily
I know some of you probably have no problem doing that, but I struggle.
Anyone else have a mini goal this week?

Christian 10-23-2008 04:41 PM

Hi lene- My mini goal is....to exercise at least 30 minutes a day this week :D

I am thinking a Valentines Day challenge thread so far...BUT we can keep each other motivated with Christmas tickers through the Holiday and then update them to Valetines Day tickers after New Years...how does that sound???

Hattie22 10-23-2008 05:58 PM

Luckymom: May I call you Shy? :grouphug: Big hugs to you!!! I can't imagine what the last two weeks have been like for you.
First: I did miss you! I wondered if I should ask where you were but I kept quiet.
Second: Don't even worry about that small gain. Be proud that you can come back here and continue on with your plan of getting healthy.
Third: We are all here for you...anytime!!!!
I am so glad you are back!!!

Congrats to you Bigmomma!:woohoo:

Christian: I definitely agree with you. I don't want to lose anyone on this thread! I am in for Christmas and New Years and Valentines Day...etc..

I haven't loss anything in almost two weeks. I think it may be that I am not eating enough. I am going for 1400 calories. I get close to that ...probably average of 1250. I just realized though that I am not including calories burned in with that. The last two weeks I have increased my exercise and am burning about 400 calories a day. I use a pedometer and have increased my steps to around 13,000. I think I am suppose to have a balance of 1400 after burning. Does anyone know if this sounds right? Do you think I should eat more and see what happens? :hun:

Thanks for any help you can give.

Christian 10-23-2008 09:23 PM

Hattie- I am with you..try upping your calories a little and see if that wont break that plateau  Your doing AWSOME!

FullSteamAhead 10-24-2008 08:33 AM

Goodmorning everyone :)

Nice to see you all, as always! Caught up with the threads, ty for the good wishes regarding the cold. It still has a good grip on me and my symptoms are progressing so I might have to go to the docs! bliaxxxxxxx! lol. I never go for a cold but last year I developed full blown bronchitis and don't want that again! Anyways, enough about that. Glad you guys are here and I have your company

Happyyyyyy Friday to you all! The week seems to have gone by fast.

Christian, thanks girl. He missed his flight yesterday morning but he got home in time for dinner. The guy was so tired, it's a good thing I had cooked and we had dinner. I think your idea about that challenge sounds really good, that way it suits all of us! wtg! :) .

urock mom, ty : ) . I experience the same thing with colds now too, they are a lot hardier than they once were. I feel the same way as you about breaking it up into mini challenges, it helps keep me in line more and oh so true about the cookies and holiday stuff, lol :D. With Christians idea, we can focus on the christmas goal first and then the valentines one, sounds ideal for all of us! :carrot:

Hi Kathy :welcome2:

Luckymom, what a nice anniversary date! On Valentines day! :) That sounds like a great incentive and you can wear something smoking hot red ;). You know, you just gave me some thoughts! lol :D I am going to work on that one too!

Lene, ty so much as well : ). His apetite is better yesterday and today. The doc gave him some fluids yesterday and something to increase his appetite. Lene, I think that's a great idea posting a mini goal! I can't do any exercise right n ow but I can drink water! lol That will be my focus as well. Whenever I keep up with my water, I notice it aids in my weight loss.

Hattie, I typically stall after the first few months too. It could be your body stabilizing the weight loss thus far but I think your thoughts sound like a good idea. Not sure if your eating a lot of the same things everyday or so far but sometimes shaking up the menu can help kick things in gear. I notice with me (in the past) that sometimes even just one day of a protein spike can get things moving again for me. WTG on the workouts Hattie : ), keep up the great work!

For me, I just completed my 3rd week of SBD yesterday! Yipee, lol. I weighed in this morning and it looks like I lost 1 1/2-2lbs, somewhere around there. As soon as I feel better, I am going to go get a digital scale for more accuracy. In the meantime, it's a new day for us all and I wish you all a great one!.

Thanks again girls  keep up the great work all.
