luvja, are the honey crisp apples a tart and crisp apple or a sweet and softer apple? I love the tart ones myself, like a nice big green granny smith!

I find them crisp, sweet, & juicy. I love crispy apples, I don't like softer ones. :)

Someone's been bringing in green ones at work so I ate one yesterday and today--not sure what variety but I'm guessing granny smith. Plus had one for for breakfast on the way to work yesterday--my last Fuji. Need to go get some more tomorrow!

Thanks, that sounds good. I can tolerate a sweet one of they are crisp. I don't care for the softer ones either.

OK--back from a few days out of town. My mil had apples, so had at least one every day! (Plus another caramel one--:o ) Need to have one tonight, and still a week to go guys! We can do it!

Nothing like waiting a whole week to eat an apple! lol I finally had one today. Granny Smith. My eyes are still watering!

Man, I've been totally rocking this apple challenge! And actually I do think it is helping me not eat as much if I have one before lunch and/or before dinner. I think I've been averaging two a day. Just yesterday bought about a dozen more of different varieties. I never remember eating so many before--they taste really good right now, though!

Great to hear! :)

It really is a challenge for me to eat fruit. I just prefer other stuff. :p

Hey! Hey! I had an apple today! Who knew? lol

modcat44 10-29-2008 04:33 PM

Blue--now you know it's good for you, so go do it! :drill:

I know what you mean--I used to reach for anything else practically but fruit. Bit since I've been cutting way down on the sugar now, the fruit tastes better and I am more motivated to eat it. Now if I could munch on raw veggies better..... I like veggies, but as a side dish, or otherwise with a dip (not so healthy.) I have a friend who's always munching on carrots and even other raw stuff--carries it around with her. I am working on it.........

LOL! I sure do need a drill sergeant to get me to eat my fruit! It's funny, 'cause I love fruit salad (the homemade kind) and I could eat and eat it but to grab a piece of fruit and just eat it is such a chore! Now veggies on the other hand I can gobble up raw or cooked.

where is our fearless leader, tigerchic? She started this challenge--has she fallen off the wagon? With only 2 days to go?

I eat at least an apple a day. I LOVE honeycrisp apples yum yum yum. I had never heard of them before I guess they have only been around a few years. NOw that I live close to apple orchards I buy bulk honeycrisps. Crisp, sweet and juicy.
