Couch to 5K ~ Week 6
I don't even know if anyone is still doing this or not...LOL!
I got lost after week 3...I just couldn't do week 4!
I'm gonna try to stay on week three or 2 though ...so I'm still pushing myself...
I think I may just try this challenge again when I'm at a lower weight.....and can afford good running shoes....
My breathing isn't the problem...its my legs....they hurt like crazy!!!
So for anyone still hanging in there....here is week 6
Of course each day still starts with a 5 min warm up!
Day 1-
5 min jog
3 min walk
8 min jog
3 min walk
5 min jog
Day 2-
10 jog
3 walk
10 jog
Day 3-
25 min jog
Good luck!

I'm on week 4, and I did day 2 this morning. As on Monday, I couldn't finish the last 5 minute run because of knee pain (otherwise I would have nailed it!), but I'm hopeful that will work itself out by next week. It's still hard, but hard in a good way compared to the first few weeks, when it was just ugh.
I got a very enthusiastic good morning from a guy I ran past Monday at, oh, probably 5:45 in the morning . Too bad all I could do was gasp out "hi" - those two letters were all I could manage .
Keep it up!

I never finished week 2 I am so outta shape.
I have been walking exactly one mile every day for almost 2 weeks. That's just where I had to start given my weight and how outta shape I am. But I'm getting stronger!
I've still got all the podcasts on my ipod and I will complete this C25K someday.
Thanks to you, Melissa for getting this together and keeping it going . I had never even heard of it till I read your first post.
And to all you still running

Maybe you could try using the program with slower and faster paced walking segments? Help you push a little.

I did Week 4 Day 2 today! I feel great!! As before, I do my runs through the trails and walkways in my town with no watch, and there are hills and places I have to stop for traffic. When I started, I mostly walked, now I mostly run (sometimes up hill) and I'm gone for 35-55 minutes depending on where I feel like going that day. I can feel my lungs getting stronger, and my legs are, too! The other day, I brought my 11-year-old DD on her bike. We had fun!!
Some weirdiosity I have noticed: I seem to be doing better after my 2-week wedding hiatus. What the heck? Oh well, I'm not trading it in.
I enjoy running so much, I worry about winter. I don't really like treadmills, but I will use one if I have to. Maybe I'll go out in my snowsuit and ice-fishing boots, with my sou'wester on my head. Just you watch!!!

I did Week 4 Day 3 today. My knee didn't start to hurt a bit until the last 30 seconds of the last run, so that was better! My legs were more tired today for unknown reasons, but I kept going .

I did Week 4 Day 3 today, so I'm right with you, JulieJ08! Tomorrow I think I'll do Week five Day 1, just because when I go for my run, I feel so great and get lots of housework done. Probably I'll take DD with me again!

Good girl, Mrs. Fauxtini!
Good job, JulieJ08!
I did Week 5 Day 1 today. It was great! I no longer gasp and swear as I come up my driveway after a run!
This time, I brought DD and her 2 GFs on their bikes. They would pass me, then come back and call me slowpoke, and race ahead. When I caught up, they would yell, "Wooo!" like I was a marathon runner! That was fun. Afterwards, we all came over to our house, and BBQed some chicken, and had Spinach salad. Delicious!
