Hello all I'd like to reintroduce myself as McPuff the Water Retention Queen. I ate salt on top of salt last night and it shows this AM - 214. I'm not sweating it it'll be gone tomorrow but grrr.

No change. I'd say summer weather is kind of funny with weight loss, hence the random gains a lot of people seem to be experiencing. I wouldn't get too discouraged, as all of you have come so far already.

No changes for me today either. It is rather frustrating when you feel like your working your butt off but the scale doesn't move...and sometimes it even goes up??? Maybe I'll get a whoosh tomorrow. I need to weigh in at 246 tomorrow to stay on track. My family and I have made plans to go to the beach next May (somewhere in Florida or Alabama...we can't decide) so I have to get beach ready and I have less than a year!!!

I was doing the 5lb challenge with you guys a couple months ago, however moving and life just derailed any progress I had made. Soooo, I'm backa nd want to join in again.

I weighed in this morning at 185lbs, so that will be my starting.

GW 180lbs.

Thanks for letting me come along again, I really need something to keep me motivated!!!

Even worse, I just got an email saying the concert we're going to is rescheduled for September!

Heather-we're going to see the Foo Fighters. I haven't been to a concert in about 10 years, but when I was about your age, I used to go to a lot! But now I'm not seeing them till September. I'm so bummed.

That's a bummer about having to wait but I saw Foo Fighters last fall and hands down of the best shows I've seen. They totally just ripped into it. Dave came out into the crowd with his bright blue guitar, smoking cigs and just kept playing. Oh it was so great! I'll definitely go again if they come around.

Dang - i'm up to 153 today - how is that even possible? I was 150/4 yesterday6, surely a person can't gain that much in one day?!?!

im trying my best to readjust bacvk into my normal healthy eating mode, and gradually its improving.

had a huge disaster this weekend, our car blew its head gasket, money we dont have again huh?

on a better note i passed all my exams, some with flying colours. so i can start year 2 in october :) will weigh in tomorrow

cat is doing fine guys thanks for asking and insurance company have paid up!

I'm down to 153 this morning... but even better, when I peeked at the scale after my 8 mile run I saw 149.8!!! Holy schmoly I about fell over! Just a preview to keep me motivated! :)

well, i'm up one pound. I'm sure it's water though as I had curry for dinner last night and a Mexican fajita for lunch. I didn't over eat, so lets see what the scale says tomorrow.

I'm down another half! I ate well and went for a long bike-ride last night. I'm really just starting the exercising thing, so I may retain a bit of water, but it'll be worth it!

I have been MIA for a few days because I have been really sick. I haven't been able to exercise, but, haven't been overeating either. I am on meds now, so hopefully in a few days I'll be able to work out again. Good news is that I am still losing!

I'm frustrated this morning....My scale is crapping out or something it started out weighing me at 247 and went from there to 248, 250, and then 251. So I went to a different scale and it said 247.8 ....consistantly....so that is what I'm going to stick with...I'm so frustrated...I have stuck consistantly to my plan ...food and exercise and I only lost 1.2 lbs last week?

Hey girls, I am having a very hard time with food still. I do soo well durning the day and after dinner when I'm not even hungry I go to food and not good food either. *sigh* I know I can do this I just need to get it in my head.

chickitababe - rest up and get to feeling better!!

Melissa - 1.2 is awesome! Some weeks you're going to lose more then others. The important thing is that it's not going the other way!

jessacaca - Have you tried the C25k program? I don't think I could run more then a hot second before I started it but I just did two miles on Saturday! It really does help get nonrunners running if you're interested.

Miriam - the fluctuations are so annoying!

I had to get to work at the crack of dawn today and didn't weigh in. Peaked this afternoon and it was down but not jinxing myself until tomorrow AM ;-)

Fat chick b gone - hey what is that running program you are talking about and where can I find out more about it...I want to run eventually I'm afraid to right now cause I'm so heavy I'm afraid of knee injuries...I don't want any excuses to not be able to exercise....but I would like to know more about this

Thanks everyone for pepping me up! I'm over my pitty party! You guys are right.....1.2 lbs lost is better than 1.2 lbs gained any day!!! And besides I didn't gain it all in a year so I may not lose it all in a year like I have planned...I'm gonna have to learn TO ADJUST my plans accordingly!

Melissa - Jessica linked the program I'm using. My next run will be week 6 day 2. I found running outside at my current weight tends to bother my knees but on the treadmill I'm fine. So for now I'm running on the treadmill and after about each 10lbs give it a go outside to see how it's going. I had to repeat the first 2 weeks before I could move on and that's certainly an option. The important thing is that it keeps you moving!

I'm slow moving this time but didn't anally watch my calories over the weekend so I'm not surprised.

So I finally gave in and paid for a gym membership at my local Y, because I just don't work out enough if I'm not going to the gym. Plus, it's been lovely weather recently, and the gym is only a 10 minute walk each way. Went for the first time last night, and I'm already SO glad I bought the membership.

We went out for Thai food last night and I ate more than I should have, so I'm glad to see the loss.

Jessica-I had a Y membership last year and I loved it! I had to give it up though, because even though there are 4 Y's in town, we live 15 miles from the nearest one. I'm not an especially social person but I do like taking group classes and just being around other people when I work out. I also like that there's such a wide age group going to the Y. It's not all 20 somethings making it a pickup joint instead of a gym!
