Yesterday I ate 1266 cals and did the 5K Marathon. Today we went out to Breakfast and I only ate half of it. Brought the rest home in a box.
Fairie, thanks for the support! Hugs, Dena |
Lizzy - Yay for pants & prunes  :carrot:
Dena - Great NSVs :D --- Bah, the whole weekend was difficult as I was feeling "slumpy" but I got in my required water, fruits & veg! :broc: |
Hey guys. Sorry I haven't posted here in a while. If any of you have seen my other posts, I have had some stuff going on. I also went by myself to my parents' house this weekend just for a little "me" time. My hubby was able to get a lot of work done on his academic journal article without me around, so it was good for him too :) I have to admit... I was terrible this weekend. My parents' house is just such a trap for me. My parents have more junkfood in their place than you could ever imagine. But, I didn't TOTALLY go overboard... about 200 calories over on Friday-Sunday (each day), but nothing too ridiculous. I did do some walking with my sister, and I played twister with my sis and her bf and I won! (thank God for stronger muscles now! lol) But after my little break I am happy to be home and back to my old, healthier routines. I'll be heading to the gym very shortly, and I am so happy for that. My NSV though for the weekend... my previously tight pair of super-tight size 8 jeans was loose this weekend!! Also, I put on a little black dress I got for a wedding coming up, and I showed it to my husband (who had never seen it before) and he did a double take and had a big dopey look on his face, lol. I also was, for the very first time ever, able to actually look at myself and think "Hey, I look pretty hot" :)
You guys are doing awesome. I am so proud of every one of you!! Keep up the good work!!!! |
Rabbit - WTG on the clothing NSVs :D I bet that look on your hubby's face was priceless!

I am not even sure if the following items match this thread... but I will try it anyway. Hahaha. :)
First of all, I haven't really seen a difference in the mirror. I just do NOT see it. However, I do feel a difference when I wear my clothes. I find myself looking at myself in the mirror going "Huh???" Because I am so confused! I think my mind is just staying in the same old state it has been, so I guess I won't really tell a difference until who knows when. Haha. Secondly, I've decided on my first mini-goal. Well, not necessarily my FIRST one, but the first one I've ever planned. Does that make any sense? I hope so. I made a deal with myself that when I lose 40 lbs, I am going to buy myself a shiny, new bicycle!!! I love bicycles, but I'm far too self-conscious to ride one. I know, I know, I really shouldn't be, but I just can't shake it. So I told myself that 24 lbs from now I'll go off and get myself that bike. Now it seems weird that I'm posting about a lbs lost mini-goal in a NSV thread, but this is my rationale: I'm not so much excited about the fact that I'll be buying myself a bike (it's still a while a way) as I am excited about the fact that I'm actually planning mini-goals and actively participating in them! Hahaha. :) And once again, my post is ever-so wordy. :p I hope everyone is great!! :D |
Today's NSV!!
What a happy day I had, I was kinds down because I haven't been shedding pounds this week, well...When I started my new lifestyle 1/28/08 I was wearing a size 26, sometimes snug. Well, yesterday my sis in law gave me some old pants that were a 20. I said yeah right! Well, today before work I thought what the heck might as well try them... well, they fit and I looked so slim in them!!!!! :carrot:

Yay happy teacher!
today, I was able to do my workout that I haven't been able to do for 2 weeks (sickness, resting pulled muscles): 30 mins of TBL Cardio Max DVD, 90 situps/60 bicycle situps, 20 butt-blasters, 20 donkey kicks, 60 push ups. I was tired but it felt good. I tried on a pair of 18M capris I got last year from NY&Co and I can get them on and everything but they are too tight now to wear outside. I hope at the end of the month that they'll be looser. |
Ceph gal, I think it's great that you have a reward for yourself (a bike) when you get to your mini-goal. I know you'll get there. :)
Happy Teacher, congrats on fitting into your new size 20 pants. :congrat: Sexychick, way to go on all those exercises!! :bravo: As for me, the NSV I had today was stopping myself from eating more food after I already ate lunch. Now that was a biggie for me! (Sometimes stress gets to me.) But I didn't give in. Yay! :yay: Hugs, Dena |
Another clothing related NSV- yesterday, I took off a pair of pants without unbuttoning or unzipping them. :) I was like... oooooh, I think I can do it... and it slid right off. I bought those for Thanksgiving, and at the time, they fit comfortably. I feel like my body is changing right before my very eyes- the scale may be at a virtual standstill, but my body shape is metamorphosizing (sp?) in leaps and bounds.

This thread is awesome! I love the idea of celebrating things that aren't just about those numbers on the scale.
I'll be trying to be in on this thread as often as possible as I think it will be a great motivator. My NSV for today - I crawled my hiney out of bed at 0420 when the alarm went off and went to the gym and spent an hour on the treadmill - even though I didn't want to and my husband just went back to sleep. |
Yay for the NSV's everyone!!!!! :cheer2:
Monday I was ill and went to bed so I did not get in my fruits & veg. HOWEVER, Tuesday & Wednesday were right back on track. Water, fruits & veg = Yeppers! |
Hello,
This thread is perfect for me. I am so tired of having an anxiety attack before weigh in each week. So no more stress, i am just going to go by how my clothes fit for a while. It is so freeing. I do have a small nsv from yesterday. Every wednesday is pizza night at my house (blame dh and teenage son). I told myself i would eat two peices of a "healthy" pizza (chicken and pineapple)...and guess what? I stopped at two pieces....didnt even eat the end crust on one of them...no problem, and was satisfied the rest of the night. WOOHOO. Looking forward to getting to know you all. Wow, i am so glad i came accross this thread! |
Hey Stacy - Congrats on the pizza! That's tough to do!
--- Fruits, veg & water all good ;) Woo-hoo another sticker  |
Thanks for the warm welcome Faerie.
I did great yesterday. My NSV for yesterday are: Took my dog on a long walk Made good use of my elliptical Kept my calories well w/ in range Ate one hershy kiss...not half the bag...one kiss...i was SO pleased. Goals for today is simple...stay on plan. Friday is usually a VERY out of plan day for me. |
Got to the gym this morning. I didn't want to and I didn't make it yesterday but I did it today.
