90 Day Weight Loss Challenge!
Okay so I never actually started a thread before but I have been “blah” for months now and can’t even say that I am trying to lose weight anymore. For years I had been at least making a feeble effort (with little or no success) but in the last few months, I have been one with the couch and eating anything I wanted. I have over 85 pounds to lose and I hate the way I look. It is affecting every aspect of my life and I truly believe that I am depressed because of the cycle that I am in: fat=depressed=eat=fat=depressed…etc. I know many of you can understand that and I am so grateful to have found a community of people that get me. So here is my challenge:
90 Days of Weight Loss – Gung Ho, no holds bar, 110% effort weight loss. Starting tomorrow, there are exactly 90 days until the end of the year and I would love nothing more than to enter the New Year with a new body (even if it is not complete) and the assurance that I am on my way to achieving my goals. For 90 days I am going to jump in with both feet – otherwise, I am afraid I might stay on the sideline. So here’s what I am going to do: Stay under 1200 calories everyday Drink 128oz. of water everyday Cardio: 60 minutes, everyday Crunches: 100, everyday Squats: 25 everyday Anyone can join and you can choose whatever you want to challenge yourself with but it has to be a challenge. For me and my couch potato self, this is a huge step so I chose to start with this and will add more as the 90 days go on. This is encouraging to me so I hope it will be to you as well: I got this idea from a good friend who did something very similar – 90 days of strenuous exercise with a strict diet. She lost 60 pounds and went from a size 18 to a size 8! After the 90 day period, she kept up with exercise and toned it down and lost another 32 pounds. She has kept it off for over a year now and looks amazing. It’s only 90 days! |
It is not good for anyone to eat less then 1200 calories a day - you are starving your body. I will admit, I have eaten less then 1200 calories a day but I never make it more then one day a week - to do it for 90 straight would be a very bad idea IMO.
Please re-thinking your daily calorie limit. I would bump it up to at least 1500 and even that is being super strict. Otherwise, I think you have a fantastic idea and wish you the best of luck! As soon as I come up with what I want to do for the next 90 days I will post :) |
Thank you for the advice sotypical. I am actually going to follow WW and I was told that for my points range, the caloric intake is about 1200 but I am not sure how accurate that is. I am going to stick to my points - I know that is safe!
Thanks again! :carrot: |
Hi!
I'd like to join in this challenge :) I'd like to: -Drink 64oz of water every day -Keep my calorie intake at about 1500 -Lose the sugary drinks -60 minutes of cardio per day -Go to the gym 3x per week |
Quote:
1 point is roughly 50 calories. I just don't want to see your starve yourself. |
Here is my plan for the next 90 days.
- 1200-1400 calories a day, with one cheat day a week - at least 3 days of exercise a week - at least 128oz of water a day |
Count me in too, I have been setting goals and not sticking to them and not being realistic for what I can lose. I want to be below 150 by Christmas. That's entirely do-able if I just stay focused.
I plan to exercise 30 minutes every day in some form. I will log all my food in Fitday and stay below 1500 calories. I will also drink at least 100 oz of H20 every day. I will come here often for support |
I love and adore challenges and I've been slacking off with weightloss since I got a new job, but I would love a new body for New Years so I will:
1) Follow my adapted SBD rules. 2) Drink 64 oz. of water each day. 3) Do at least 30 minutes of cardio everyday. 4) Weight training/toning four times a week. |
I'm In Too !!!!
Hey Ladies, count me in too. I joined the Christmas challenge however this is a new thread everyone is starting out fresh (posting daily). I can do it I actually started today, so I am going to challenge myself here is what I'm going to do.
128 ounces of water daily 60 minutes of cardio/weight training at least 4-5 days a week. 1400-1500 calories daily. Let's keep one another motivated and really strive to attain these goals. Good or bad just post results. Since we all have set goals we should select a day of the week to post results and still post daily. I think this would help a lot. What do you guys think? |
hi I would love to join this challenge. I have a hard time sticking to something for long. My diet needs a bost so here I go.
challenge only one soda a week on cheat Tuesday. 64 oz of water perday journal my food every day excersise 4 days a week. good luck to everyone |
Hi!! I wanna join too! I have a hard time sticking to my diet or plan for a long time, so i´ll come often for support!!
My plan is: 1200 calories daily 2 liters of water Cardio 45 mins 5 times a week No emotional eating!!! (that´s hard for me) This is my day 3 and I hope to continue till New Year!! Good Luck! |
Well it's the end of day 2 for me and I'm feeling ok...I haven't managed to do all 4 goals on either of the days, but I have been doing the most important thing, on both days I've done the exercise so I'm feeling pretty good about myself right now.
We can do it! |
The only thing that I've been having trouble with is the drinking of the water. I'm not a big fan of the way my tap water tastes. Other than that, things have been going fairly well. I'm using my NYC Ballet workout DVDs, and let me tell you, I've noticed a difference in my posture, which has made a huge difference already. No backaches yesterday! :)

So far so good!!
Water is OK, exercise is going, Fitday is great although I have to guess with some of my meals and just pick something fairly close. |
Hi everyone! It´s day 4 for me (I started a day earlier) and i´ve been doing pretty well! I have eaten healthy and done cardio everyday! I´m feeling happy, I know it´s only day 4 but anyway!
Water is hard for me, so I try to drink as much as i can in the morning.. I don´t know why but it´s easier in the morning!! Hope everyone posts and tells how they´re doing!!!:carrot: |
OK - stopped for dinner out w DH last night (10 pm after son's football game in a town 1.5 hours from home!!) did share a dessert w DH, but other than that was pretty good, so I probably did not lose anything, but hopefully did not gain either. Date with the scale Monday...

I'm feeling kind of bummed...I did nothing for the last three days. I sort of feel like now instead of day 6 of a ninety day challenge I'm going on day 1 of an eighty four day challenge.
But I am committed to losing weight so I'll lose as much as I can in the goal period time. On another note I am adding another goal to my already existing four. I am not going to eat after 9pm every night. I also want to add some sort of aerobics to my exercise schedule, but I don't want to make it a requirement because I'm out of shape and they are hard!!!! I really hope everyone on the list is doing well (much better than me) and are fullfilling all of your goals. |
I did not lose, but I did not gain.
|
Hi, I would like to join in if it's not too late. I really need to do something and maybe this will be the right fit.
My GOALS: -64oz of water a day -exercise 6 days week (3-cardio 3- strength) -only one cheat day (sat) - WI day Wed. (Mon are always bad for me) Not really sure how much weight I would like to lose....but my short term is 12lbs. by Turkey day. |
I would like to join too. I'm on day 6 - so I think I may have started my own thing about the time this started. I've done really well each day.
Here are my goals: Stay within my WW points on a daily basis Only use 15-20 of the weekly points - for special occasions only Curves 3 x's per week minimum Learn and abide by the Healthy 8, including appropriate food servings Good luck to everyone! Kristina |
Welcome Prissiro & Iwillsurvive!! Looks like you both have great goals!
|
Ok girls - I have never posted either. I am LAWL drop out - lost 20 pounds on that diet, but gained it all back. My husband and I are training for a half marathon the first weekend of December. My frustration is that I can run but due to my being almost 50 pounds overweight and 40, my joints are really telling me about it. My goals are to:
stay around 1500 calories per day Stay on my training plan - running 3 times a week, cross training 2 Drink 64 ounces of water a day Keep a food log Let's all wish ourselves luck. |
Hi ladies - I'm on Day 7 here - I have done really well - but I haven't lost one pound! I'm drinking 80-100 ozs of water a day, eating well within my points (on WW), and nothing! I'm beginning to get frustrated, but I'm sticking with it. I would have expected to lose at least a pound! Do some people just not lose when counting calories (points)? Maybe I should do low carb??? I thought I had finally made a decision and was excited about it - but now I'm having 2nd thoughts, and it's very frustrating.

Vetmom- of course you are welcome, the more the merrier and a half marathon, that is awesome, I have never run more than a 5k.
Prissiro- I know nothing of Weight Watchers, have never tried it but lots here swear by it so I'm sure the weight will come off. You may want to take measurements too, you may be loosing inches but not seeing it on the scale yet. Give it a bit and see if it gets better. Hang in there!!! I got on the elliptical this morning, nothing doing there, had to settle for a walk for today, but ate clean and am almost to 64 oz water for the day, will need to chug it tonight!!! |
