I am down 3lbs this week....I just might reach that 9lb goal!
I haven't been this size (186lbs) I before I had my last child, which was almost 7 years ago.
I am going to have to be more careful on the weekend from now on. I have joined the 'biggest losers challange' thread, and the weigh-in day is Monday.
No more 2 day cushion to recover from any 'cheats'
Sounds like everyone is really working hard this month!

Greetings everyone!
I am still here...the mild cold grew up to be a mild case of the flu and I was feeling seriously icky this weekend. I have not exercised all last week, nor have exercised this week.

Eating has been erratic at best and all of it not good. Still though, when I write it all down in my food journal...it doesn't seem ALL that bad. Except today. I bought munchkins for my munchkins and plowed through 10 of 'em despite knowing better.

No plans for exercise today. Maybe a half an hour walk...Maybe...

no weight lost...not a pound...but none gained...so!

i'm kinda at a plateau right now, which i'm actually okay with. It's testing me to see that even without gains/loss i'm able to stick to things. I managed to buy a pair of size 5 jeans on sunday which was a HUGE surprise. I was aiming for a 7 so a 5 was pretty shocking. I've had to work the morning shift at work this week so far which has resulted in more walking. Getting off at 3 also means I have time to strength train before instead of after dinner which I honestly would rather do. My eating has been mostly good this month, except both saturdays, i've managed to have a couple of drinks and then mowed down something I shouldn't have. I guess that also explains why i haven't lost this month yet. Glad to hear everyones doing well, keep up the good work!

WTG with the loss Dea, that must be a great feeling being back to "before child" weight

Im still not quite OP, i had a reasonable day yesterday eating wise, did 45 minutes aerobics, but then ruined it with some treats in the evening. Doh!! Today is a new day so back to it!! I really need to concentrate on the eating and getting OP for more than a couple of hours!!!! Grrrrr!!!
Heres to a great day!

Hi ladiessssss,

Seasoning, ty for the info. Yes, I am going to research it a bit and get some more info. Good luck with the MonaVie, let me know how it works out for you. I need to start drinking my ginseng tea again, now that stuff works for me bigtime!! Makes me feel great and reduces cravings. I was losing at a good clip too when I was drinking it religiously.

plann2walk, welcome to our team

Hi Kappy, your workout schedule sounds ideal! keep up the great work. Lol @ the sadist who designed those bicycle seats! I don't ride a stationary now but I used to and ohhhhhh I hated those blasted seats! lol hmm, how about putting a little cushion thing on it? I don't know, maybe the butt adapts to it after awhile, in anycase, keep it rocking!

pigginpodgey, keep on truckin girl! Way to go on the working out. I am still struggling with the carbs here.....when I had restricted them for quite some time I found that I craved them much less, the more I have them the more I crave them. You know though, I didn't have bread in the house those several months and that helped so much. I know what I have to do girl, planproof the house 100 percent! New day indeed, wishing you a great and successful day. Congrats on a good day yesterday, keep up the good work : )

Deaaaaaaaaa, congratulations on the 3lb. loss! way to go!

Lekhika, hey you! I was thinking of you and wondering how you are, I am spoiled by your frequent posting and missed your presence....nice to hear from you, as always! I am sorry to hear that you got bogged down with the flu and I hope your feeling better. I honestly think it's great that you have maintained, that takes work too and in my mind is a big endeavor and a big victory! After losing all that weight, it's a big deal to maintain it...that rocks! I look up to you girl. Keep it rocking hun and feel better

Elegant, congratulationsssssss on the size 5 jeans. I would be so totally in heaven with a 7, let alone a 5! I would want to shop until I drop! hahah : ) I look forward to that shopping when the time comes. Did you check out the new booties this season? omg, they are to die for! Thanks for the inspiration girl, keep it rockin

Guess I have to move my tail and plug away at the work here, seems neverending sometimes. I am happy to see the sun today as it was rainy and grey for a few days. Have an awesome day ladies, catch you soon...hugs.

Morning all!

Are you feeling better yet Lekhika? I know we all have targets we're pushing pretty hard to meet, a cold is one of the best reasons to get off our own back and rest!

A size 5, eh Elegant Departure? Good for you! I assume we aren't talking about any form of "mommy jeans" here! If that's a plateau I'd take it!

Pigginpodgey, have you ever noticed how our brains seem to go "I've been OP all day long today, the machine says I just burned xyz calories, I can have that treat!" I'm working on spacing those "treat's" out to once a week or less. Some weeks are definitely easier than others to do that though! Look how far you've managed to come! In less than 5 more pounds you'll be over halfway to your target! If that isn't worth celebrating (OP of course) I don't know what is. Good luck, you can do it.

FSA- I cant have anything remotely tempting in the house, i have to really prepare, as if i teeter off my plan slightly i get disheartened and then will pig out for the day. So much planning! Today Im having a very OP day, so im really pleased!! Going for a walk with my mum after work today as it is a lovely spring day here.
Kappy- you truly hit the nail on the head, i do that ALL the time, its too easy to make allowances like that, something ive got to keep a grip on!! Thank you for your encouraging words!! Its really motivated me to keep going and stay OP today!!
Elegant - forgot to say in my last post WTG on the jeans!! Thats like a UK size 6!!! Fantastic job!

kappy and pp, it's so easy to rationalize those treats! I'd be rich if I had a dime for every time I've done it. I've been so good and exercised and yada yada yada...the next thing I know that piece of cake is in my mouth and I'm wondering what came over me.

I finally broke down and started recording food intake. I was trying to do this by mindful eating alone, but I was having too many unmindful snacks. I've been successful with calorie counting in the past, but the weight came back on when I stopped. Does this mean I'll have to count calories forever? Sigh, if it works, I guess the answer is yes.

I spent 35 minutes on the stairclimber yesterday. I haven't been very sore today, just a little extra warmth in my tush. I worked out on the lowest level, so maybe I can push it up a notch next time.

FSA, you do such a good job keeping up with all of us. Thanks for your wonderful posts!

Another day, another challenge!

Seasoning, I was writing down everything I ate, and frankly it did zippo for me. Nada, not a thing. I had to get on-line and do it where the calories automatically came up with the recorded food item. Pain in the royal backside, but seeing the list of food alone didn't phase me in the least. Seeing the astronomical number associated with that list of foods put the love of God back into the equation and man can I make changes then!

If you also need to track the time of day and feelings/environment when you ate said items so you can spot trends or weak spots, I don't know of an on-line way to do that. Yet!

Had a good day yesterday, eating was reasonable, exercise was enjoyable! I drove to a beach thats nearby and jogged/walked up and down it for 30 minutes, it was lovely and truly blew the cobwebs off!!
Eating hasnt been perfect this week though, Im hoping by getting the exercise into this week, concentrate on my eating now, and hopefully it will all come together, and boom the next 50lbs will just fall off!!! If only it was that easy huh ladies?!?!

I feel back on track today. My eating has been sensible and hence I feel energized and aware. It's amazing how eating crap makes me feel like crap. I feel like an addict that has come down from a week long bender. Still, though, I can't help but feel a little disappointed in myself. I really wanted to get down below 110 this month but all in all, I'm pretty happy with the way things are now.

By the grace of the merciful powers that be I have emerged without gaining any of that weight that was so difficult to lose. I'm feeling pretty darn good about that and have promised to keep up the treating my body right and eating to live rather than living to eat.

I have missed all of you and have been on the down low because I've been feeling crappy.

I'm off....making bean bags for the kids today...to help teach counting and substraction and addition.

I hope all of you have a wonderful day and *see* you tomorrow!

You are right, kappy, it's a pain in the backside to keep track of calories, but it helps. I use a program called DietPower that keeps track of the calorie values when I enter the food. It's sort of like FitDay, but runs on my computer. This one is sort of interesting because it calculates your metabolism based on what you eat and your daily weight. From that, it gives you a calorie budget based on what you want to weigh and how long you want to take. I'm seeing so far that I can meet my target if I stay below 1600 calories or so.

I've used this program before to good success, but it gets pretty tedious entering all that stuff. The main problem I have with calorie counters is I'm recording after the fact of eating instead of before. I guess I could work out a menu ahead of time, but I'm not that organized when it comes to meals. I think that's my real problem.

Lekhika, I think it's wonderful that you've maintained your weight. When you're going through difficult times you have to divert your energy to other things. Keeping your weight stable is a great accomplishment.

piggin, I'm envious that you can go to the beach so easily. What are the beaches like in the Falklands? Are they rocky or sandy? Is the water cold?

Bad day yesterday. Binged on doritos, totally mindless, emotional eating. Had a crap day at work and just felt so tearful and miserable.
I hate that I always turn to food when i feel like that, boo. On one positive note, i dont think i binge as bad as I used to, so I guess thats one good thing. Back on the wagon today though.
