Oh, when I actually went...I felt like a million bucks! It's just keeping it up that I suck at! :)
|
50 mins of exercise today.
Pretty ~ I know what you mean. I just got back in like last week after a nearly 2 month hiatus. I'm leaving for Tx in under two months and I want to put this membership to good use. |
Hey girls,
I've been MIA again, but I've been doing really well. Food is going really well, and although I gave up my gym membership (too expensive, considering how little I was going), I bought the Firm system, and have been doing that regularly. I've lost about 6 lbs, and am feeling pretty good. Good job Prettyone! Keep going and you'll be strutting around on the beach in no time! JasonsLea-your almond recipe sounds good; I will have to try it. Good job on the gym! Keep it up! (and the water too--how many times did you have to run to the bathroom?:dizzy:) Mom2mollie-hope you're feeling better. Congrats on the weightloss. It stinks it had to be while you're sick, but sometimes you just have to take it however it comes, right? Kappy-I hate riding stationary bikes. I took a couple of spin classes a few months ago, but my body hated it! I don't love the elliptical machine, either. It makes my feet fall asleep! I'm a treadmill girl. Did you figure out your insurance stuff? We have good insurance through my husbands company, but we pay a LOT for it, and the co-payments go up every year! Welcome iwillsurvive-hope to see you around! Well, I don't think I'll make it to my Thanksgiving goal, but that's ok. I'm feeling pretty good about the changes I've made, and I think (hope) I've finally figured out that this is for life, not just to get in shape by a particular occasion or vacation. Have a great week, everyone! |
Darby ~ Alot! LOL And I did it all over again Sat with loads of water AND coffee and 70 mins of exercise.
|
Down 1.2 this week.
No exercise for the past two days. I can feel my body getting back into that lazy zone so back to the gym tomorrow. |
Hey all! Sorta been MIA, between work, the health (can we talk about open enrollment? Holy crapola. Hope ya'll are in good overall health, heaven help you if you aren't!) and and all the rest of the crap there just isn't enough time. Same for everybody I suppose.
Finally got my medical treatment, I can restart yoga tonight and do it again on Friday, then restart the cardio on Monday. Strangely enough Darby1 I can't do the treadmill. Between my feet and back the only machine I can do for a full 35 minutes without major post exercise repercussions are the ellipticals. And yes, my feet end up burning hot and numb by the time I'm done. I'm hoping said treatment resolves that issue, but I'm not holding my breath! ThePrettyOne, I'm telling ya girl. I'd be throwing a party if I'd made as much progress as you! Keep the faith on making it to your finish line. The closer you get the tougher the fight. You can do it! |
30 mins today. No gym, just walked to the library.
|
JasonsLea I'm so proud of you for checking in every day!!
Way to go everyone else! Mollie's been teething and crying all day every day this week, so I haven't been to the gym (didn't want to leave her with the poor nursery workers). But I pulled out my pedometer and have been walking every day. Gosh, I didn't realize how little I moved! I'm trying to get to 10,000 steps and yesterday little M and I went on 2 walks and only got to 8100! Today I'm up to 6100 so far, and it's in the high 80's here, so I was sweating pretty hard! I'm finding that with this postpartum/hormone/nursing thing, I have no idea what my body will do next. I've been exercising less intensely this week, and the weight seems to be coming off better now than it did when I was working up a terrible sweat every day and killing myself at the gym. Oh, the drama! ;) Love you gals! Keep it up! We can make it!! |
Mom2Mollie, how's the teething coming along? Even when you know why she's cranky it sure can wear on you. Congrats on staying on track and trying to find alternatives! Our bodies can be very perverse, I swear they try to find ways to confuse and baffle us. One week this works, the next week that doesn't even begin to work. It's a sanity test and some weeks I'm losing!
Jasonslea, was that 30 minutes the time to walk to the library and then back again? Boy, I wish I lived that close to a library! Exercise is exercise, who ever said it had to be done in a gym or on/with equipment. Maybe that's all a part of the big body secret. Mixing it up so one day the "gym" is exercise, the next day the "library" or the "grocery store" . . . When I was in college I used to have to ride my bike to the grocery. Not only did you have to be careful what you bought at one time, but some weeks you had to go a couple of times to get everything needed. Hmm, maybe that's something to consider these days . . . Maybe not! |
Mom2Mollie ~ Ugh, I remember when my little brother was teething....13 years ago! My finger still hurts.
Kappy ~ That 15 mins to the library, 15 mins back. Another 30 today. Doing homework. |
Well, It's in the 50's here this morning!! Woohoo! Mollie and I are going to wait till it's a little *warmer* to go on a walk today! It's been in the 80's on Christmas Day here before, so the 59 degrees on an October morning is a BIG treat here (it seems that global warming means that SA has cooler weather...)!
Yesterday I got below 180 (179.8)!! Yeehaw! Once I stabilize here, I'm going to do something fun like a pedicure as a reward! I have to confess, I was getting discouraged with my progress about a week ago. But I happened to glance at my food journal (which I had let slide for about a month) and realized I had lost 6 lbs since Sept 14. Boy was that motivation. It has helped me get excited again and I've lost another 1.5 lbs this week!! kappy and JasonsLea, the teething has gotten better, thank the Lord. Mollie's still getting up twice a night to nurse the past few days (because of all the calories she's burning from teething, I think-- she's a skinny little thing, all muscle), but at least my happy little gal is back, and I'm getting some smiles again. That smile keeps me going! :) |
I am always down for a good challenge. I will challenge myself to lose 10 pounds by thanksgiving
Great Idea. |
 everyone!
M2M ~ Glad the teething is getting better. That's one stage I am NOT looking forward to when I have kids. Welcome Unstoppable! 70 mins Friday and 70 mins yesterday, all walking. Hoping I can get to the gym tomorrow. So I had a total WTF? moment yesterday: I was delivering the dinner trays in MICU and one of the patients was looking at me and crackling when I was setting him up. As I was leaving, he said 'You got a fat face....but you're pretty.' Ooookkkaaay. I just looked at him and left. I wasn't hurt or angry, it was just 'Huh?' |
Thanks for the welcome Jasonslea.
Happy to know it did not get you down. What is that about? People act like big girls can't be cute. But anyway, keep doing your thing and always stay positive. |
Hey girls,
Looks like everyone is hanging in there. Good job! I've been doing pretty well with my Firm dvd's, however, I'm supposed to go down and do one today, but I can't seem to make myself get up out of this chair! I have a big test on Tuesday that I've been studying for and it's been snowing all day, which means it's COLD in the basement. I know, I know...I'll warm up quickly, but still... Food has not been great. This weekend was lots of junk, and boy is my body letting me know it does not like it! Why do we do it to ourselves? I KNOW my body likes healthy food, but for some reason, my mouth likes junk! I hope you all are having a great weekend and no more babies are teething and everyone is doing their exercise! Welcome unstoppable! I think since I'm clearly not going to get to my goal of a 25 lb loss by Thanksgiving, I will join you and "try" to lose 10. Heck, I'll take 5! |
