Hi everyone.
I'm just checkin in. I haven't weighed in and think my last weigh in for the month of June will be on Sunday (if I can wait that long) and Friday if I can't! I don't think I'll lose any more than a couple of pounds more so....Probably on to July...... Hope everyone's well, I've stayed on plan and have been working out everyday. |
July mini challenge?
HI all:
well it sounds like we are all doing pretty well--I mean that--those of you who are struggling are posting and getting support and that means that you still want that goal even tho it is getting hard. The more you persevere and keep stating what you want then the more it will come together! I would like to suggest another mini-challenge for July--we had a practice run for June and even tho we werent able to keep it perfect, the more we try the better we will get at it. So my question to you all to prepare us for the challenge is: What would it take for you to be 100% for the month of July? How could you achieve that and prepare for that. For me having my food planned for me is the key. The other part is doing my exercise as early in the day as possible so that I dont flake out in the evening when I am tired. Also, I am highly motivated--I want this weight off--now!! I have been doing this long enough and I dont want to keep suffering and trying, I want to do it. I am doing it! I will achieve my goals! :cp: I will be shopping at regular stores and saying goodbye to plus sizes. :hat:I am healthier every day! Nothing will get in my way now! Okay what do you say my friends?? I'm up for a mini challenge for July. My weight hasn't budged yet this week so I'll set my July target weight after my weigh in on Monday.
My goals for July 2007 are: Lose a minimum of 8lbs Continue to exercise at LEAST 3 times a week Walk my dog every night for 45 minutes Stay on plan July 14 - 22 (I'll be in Kansas city for my sister's wedding) Post every day on 3FC I figure if I can do 8lbs in July and 8lbs in August that is the remaining 16 lbs until Labour Day! I am loving these challenges! I keep thinking all day long that people are looking for me to post on Monday and I want to have a good change in my weight so it helps keep me on track when my mind .. er stomach wants to wander to something I shouldn't have!
I must admit that a few of my days have been slightly high though so for my goals in JULY I shall.... Keep all days below 2000 calories but above 1400 Get at least 30 minutes of aerobic activity a day (even if its just doing yard work, but to qualify I must sweat or get out of breath :) ) When out camping I will estimate and write down everything I eat to keep accountable, and record it when I get back. Well I am sure that is plenty for me to try and fit in! I am assuming this is one of those challenges where you put how many days you have stuck to it out of 31 for the month? Also Sno I might change my goal amount, I have managed to lose so well this far (I am also SUPER DUPER motivated!) I am thinking I should just change it to 20 pounds instead of 15, I will let you know next check in. |

I just came over to check in and I see sno has thrown down just the EXACT challenge I needed to hear! There are exactly 4 weeks 'til my FIFTIETH Birthday :yikes: and I gottagottagotta get into the 120's by then, even if it's just 129.9! So I'm IN! And I think that planning and getting exercise done early really are the main keys for me too--so that's what I'm going to focus on for this last month while I'm still in my forties!;) Thanks for this one! cups |
Hi ladies! I just popped in to say I'm soooooo sorry I haven't checked in. It's been like 2 weeks. I was very discouraged about no loss for 2 weeks in a row, and I just sort of gave up this challenge. I should have written a "goodbye" post instead of leaving you all hanging, but I didn't, I was sort of embarassed.
But then I finally came here tonight to fess up and seeing all your posts and all the successes made me change my mind. So if I'm still welcome here, please add my new stats to the list. I am down another 5 pounds, which makes 10 pounds in all. I've got renewed energy and I'm so excited that I'm finally going to lose all the weight this time! It's not a question of "if" but "when". I have started running on the treadmill this week instead of just walking, and I've started strength training (Bowflex). Anyway, thanks for reading this far and listening. It's really nice being able to "talk" with people in the same boat as I am, since most of my friends are not overweight and trying to lose. My hubby is trying to lose, but it's not the same for men as it is for women, so I'm glad I'm still here with you all. Talk to you soon! |

I love the monthly challenges. Tleef, I especially like your goals, they are in line with what I need to do! So for my July goal I would like to: - Do cardio at least 5 times a week - Do strength training at least 3 times a week - Check in with 3fc every day (not necessarily post because I can't always think of something to say!) - Take a walk with my family after dinner every night Good luck to everyone! |
June mini-challenge!

glad there is some enthusiasm for the mini challenge. I think they are fun too. Its great everyone is posting their goals! Some well thought out plans here! Someone asked me if I was doing anything different to lose 3 lbs two weeks in a row. I have been a bit more active but also I started taking omega-3 which I think may be helping! Thanks to ALL for the advice.. i know thats a down fall for me it always has been (the eating out part) i know i should make wiser choices when eating and im really tryin and i know its a cop out but its so easy to whip by mic dees and grab kids sumthing then im stuck eating that crap too.. and thats another be thing i dont want my kids to have the same weight issues as me... BUT im changing slowly but surely! :) I had 1 bowl of cereal ... 1 bologna sandwitch and a couple of fries today so im very proud of myself... i painted all day yesterday and im sore so no workout today lol But 1 more day and its my weigh in time :) i know we post on monday but its easier for me to do on FRI i will reweigh on Mon as well... im up for the mini july

Count me in for July Sno. The june challenge was a great idea. I didn't loose much because when I went off plan they were major bad days so I spent many days trying to recover. This time around I will schedule an off plan day on the 10th, 20th, and 30th where I will treat my self to dessert at my favorite cafe but only if I'm strickly on plan for 9 days strait including exercise.
Well got run because I've got my second graduation to go to this week. I'm so proud of my daughters. The 14 year old graduated from middle school last nite with honours and my 18 year old is graduating from high school tonight with honours as well. It's amazing how fast they grow up. It just seems like yesterday we were changing diapers and pullin our hair out with fatigue because no one would sleep through the nite. Good day to all, Nina |

Update on me
I am still hanging in here lurking, not weight loss yet. I have struggled with being on plan. I just got off vacation on Wed. and I know I have gained since my last post. I am going to do a weigh in on Monday.
I was on plan yesterday and today and did workouts both days, so I am heading in a good direction and plan to stay there. :smug: |
I would like to join the July challenge. I really enjoy monthly challenges. I fell off of plan a bit this month, but didn't totally stall my weight loss. Down to 202. I am not going to achieve my June goal of 199, but that's my own fault. I am just grateful I LOST AT ALL. I will wait for Sunday for my official weigh in though.
I went to the gym for the first time in a month today and I feel fantastic. I was still able to do my usual cardio workout, but I came out ALOT more sweaty LOL. So for the July challenge.. 1) Lose 10 pounds (Won't know the exact goal weight til Sunday) 2) Goto the gym 3 times a week 3) Keep drinking lots of water 4) Stay between 1400-1600 calories I think I may need to drop my calories a bit. I haven't been losing as fast as I was when I started. Do I keep the same calories till I stop losing completely at this range? It may just have been the lack of excercise lately. |

BTW i think someone on here said.. when i was talking about being discouraged cuz no weight loss.. they said.. it happened to them and then BAM 2 lbs gone.. well it happened to me too! :) 3 lbs gone over nite lol wow i feel really hyped up now! i think its all this painting ive been doing! in tha heat and stuff and i have been tryin my darnest not to eat late... so im happy! :) yeah for everyone !!! |

well we are starting to load up for the July mini challenge and I am loving all the goals I am hearing! My goals are: aerobic exercise 30 minutes 5 days a week. leg exercises 5 days a week stay on nutrisystem every day 100% I tried my friends cybex machine yesterday--it is some fancy elliptical and it was fun! We usually do hip-hop abs together and that is fun too! chunkyb: :bravo: on your weight loss--we knew it was coming! Jasmine: Great to hear from you--keep posting--I know it is hard when you are not doing as well as you would like but it keeps you on track! I am sending you some :dust: sock: :bravo: on your weight loss and getting back to the gym--it is always a triumph when the scale goes down--it could so easily be going up!
