Good Morning All,
Wow lots of activity and newcomers. Welcome everyone. I'e been AWOL in more than one way but back on track today. Had a little problem with chocolate but have it under control now. I went 12/15 but the last three days I've been struggling with sugar cravings. I think I've gained a bit or alot but not weighing in until Monday so there's time for damage control. I really need to post almost daily because writing to you all reminds me about why I'm doing this. I definately feel that I'm slowly killing myself with the wrong food choices and feel just terrible after a bad day or couple of days, so here's to gettin back on track and feelin good about myself again. I'm participating in a cancer fundraiser tonight called Relay for Life, tonight, and it involves being part of a track team that walks from 7pm to 7am and proceeds goes to help survivors. It's a very uplift experience and really makes you reflect. I lost my Dad 7 years ago to cancer so all the more reason for making the right life style choices. Have a great weekend everyone!!! Cheers, Nina |
Just checking in! I have been having a bad couple weeks, first of all my family reunion, a HUGE potluck so I had to try a little bit of almost everything. And my period is about to start so I am having cravings. But I know everything will work out ok!! :carrot: I am visiting my sister in Ohio and when I get back home I will start working out again, I love bike rides and I can't wait!!
:welcome3: to all newbies!! |
Hi Ladies

hi everybody after alot of "dirty" eating i have decided to not weigh myself until next monday hope that ll be keep me on track i bought some cinnamon caramel muffins for the guests n u know they have melted caramel in the centre yum yum n i cant seem to resist em whenever i go in the kitchen they seem to be saying eat us eat us but fortunately i have eaten only half the serving size that is only 75 calories n then i stopped thank goodness !!!!
sometimes i wonder where does all the weight go when we lose it i mean if i lose 25 lbs where wil they go ok i know all that thing about body using energy but just wonder how a person shrinks, my baby is 22 lbs n when i picked her up from her crib i wondered that if i lose 22 lbs ill be this much lighter i mean if the weight loss had some physical matter 22 lbs loss could mean a 22 lbs 10.5 month old baby isnt it amazing how our bodies work i hope some of u get what im trying to explain about this weight loss hope u have a great weekend bbye n tc |

Hi all:
I did a major re-org project today in the house--moving boxes etc. I am bushed! But I bet I burned lotsa calories. And the house looks better--still so much to do. I am painting my toenails--the first coat is drying as we speak. Okay--well 15/15 and going strong. It is becoming 2nd nature to do it this way. Boy, am I glad I dont have any caramel muffins around here tho--that might be my undoing! I lay down on a fire ant last night when I went to do my leg exercises. Fortunately it was a small one and I only got a little stung. Mean! I still did the exercises tho. Edzard: my weight can cycle too with water but usually if I go down and then up then I will go down again a little lower. If that makes sense. I think it is water and I think it is the body trying to hang onto the weight. Bodies dont like change. Lekhika: Great job--4 lbs woo hoo! You have been working out a lot so it doesnt surprise me. Nina: glad to hear from you again--going awol and then coming back is part of the deal as you know! It only makes us stronger. helpme lose: have a great trip--glad to hear from you--we'll be here when you get back. eevey: I know--I have to stop weighing myself every day too--at the beginning it was cool because I was losing weight fast but now that I go back and forth on the same pound for days it can make you crazy!:^: straw: Okay caramel is one of my faves in any form. I dont think I could do this with sweets around the house. At least you have only had half of it--that can work on your plan. Take care everyone--I am updating the list again to put lekhika's loss on! :dust: :dust: to everyone for the weekend! cuppa: will lose 12 lbs by Labor day chelskell will lose 25 lbs by Labor day Eevey will lose 17 lbs by Labor day Edzard will lose 15 lbs by Labor day Mesilla will lose 25 lbs by Labor day Chunkybanana: will lose 18 lbs by Labor day Jbaby: will lose 25 lbs by Labor Day Flow: will lose 30 lbs by Labor Day Sockmonkey: will lose 27 lbs by Labor day--2 down 25 to go! Hi!
Happy Friday/Saturday. I'm writing from work at 2am... Still completely on track with my new BFL exercise regime--I've actually made it to Day7! I'm SOOOO happy about that! I even need a heavier set of dumbells already. I just realized that our Labor Day goal date is a few weeks before my second wedding anniversary. How cool will it be to have gotten to my goal by then? Another motivator! Have a great weekend, every one and a great Weigh In! cuppa |
I'm happy to say that even tho I haven't been able to check in here, I have been keeping myself to plan, and I am 13/15 :D The kids have just a few more days of school, and then it's SUMMER!!! They already have a list going of all the things they want to do, so I'm going to be pretty busy I guess LOL Most of the things involve a lot of walking- the zoo, the aquarium, parks, the beach I jusst need to be careful because when we are go places like that, it's so easy to just grab some fast food on the way there or back...I need to be sure I'm stocked with good healhty food we can take with us.
I stepped on the scale today (I know, I know, but I *had* to peek because I was feeling really good) and it said 250.8! :dizzy: Time flies! I remember in February when I was sooooo thrilled it said 280! ;) My 8th anniversary is on Tuesday, and my goal was to be 250 by then, so it's looking good! Strawberry- I don't know if you watch Blue's Clues or not, but when I was reading your post, a song from their musical started going thru my head- "If we use our minds, take a step at a time, we can do anything that we wanna do" Don't give up, cause you can do it! I need to get the kids ready to go out. We are heading to the mall to get some new shirts for my dad for Father's Day :D Luckily he is feeling really good, so he'll be able to enjoy himself tomorrow. (Last week, he even went down and volunteered at the hospital!!!! :) He hasn't done that since February!) Have a great day! :dust: |
Hey everyone! I have some good news and some bad news. The good news is that yesterday my team competed in the Toronto International Dragonboat Race Festival. It is one of the biggest dragonboat festivals in North America. And my crew placed fourth! I'm so happy. Not only did we place fourth, we shaved a full two seconds off of our best time! So that is the good news. The bad news is that I am not at all on track this week and I am really hoping I didn't gain. But with the end of high school there are so many things that just pull me off track (exams, prom, grad, various banquets and picnics) and I just feel so not motivated right now. Gah. Any advice?

Mind if I join??
Hi Ladies,
Hope you don't mind if I join a little late. Okay a little about me. My name is Monica and I had lost over 40 pounds being a member of 3FC. However I had a surprise pregnancy last September so I quit smoking and put on 54lbs ..... ouch!!! Now baby Jack is 3 weeks old and I am ready to get back on track. Feeling very confident and excited to get started again. I will be married for 10 years in August and I am a stay at home mom to 5 beautiful children ages, 9, 7, 4, 2, and 3 weeks :) My goals for this challenge are; 1. drink my 8 glasses of water a day 2. cut out pop 3. get moving at least 20mins a day 4. stop eating after 7:00pm That should do for a start....... Oh my current weight is 199lbs my goal is to get to 140lbs, when I found out I was pregnant I made it to 164lbs. Okay so my goal for this challenge will be 25lbs I look forward to getting to know you girls better and look forward to giving and receiving support. |
New here also.
Hi ladies!
I would love to join your Labor Day challenge. I am new to Fat Chicks and can tell already this is the place for me! A little about me...My name is Jenny and I am married with three small boys (6, 2, and 2). Yes I had twins and they did a number to my body. I am tired of using them as an excuse. I am also a sales rep who is on the road during the day which makes eating right a bit of a challenge. My goals are to drop 20 lbs and get a glimpse of my former athletic self by toning up. Thanks for having this group! I look forward to getting involved and dropping these last 20 lbs! Jenny http://www.3fatchicks.net/img/bar097...8/158/178/.png |
Hi there 60jayhawk and MyOwnSaboteur I enjoy the relative "longtermness" of this challange while being involved in monthly challanges too! I hope to get to know the both of you better!
Thanks Snowbrocade...I really have seem to hit a slump as far as the exercise goes, I feel incredibly lethargic as of late, especially after being sick last week. I think I'm just still a little tired. I need to do major reorganization in my basement. It's so cluttered with CRAP....it is on my "to do" list for this summer and I really hope I get to it. On a super happy front....ALL of my work clothes from when I was a young professional thing working in NYC fit and look good. It's funny because this summer was the deadline for throwing all that stuff out. I was all, "Why are you even saving these things? You'll never be that thin again"....YAY! Happy fathers day to all the fathers on this board and all the husbands who are fathers and all the partners who are fathers....and just a Happy Sunday to the rest of us! Truck on my dear ladies...truck on! |
Sunday
HI all:
Happy Fathers day! I am happy to report I am 16/16! So yesterday I did another big housework binge for 3 hours--vaccuming, mopping, cleaning bathroom etc. Whew was I tired! I hope I lose a lot this week because I did my regular exercise this week and two days of intense housework! Oh, did I tell you all I got stung by a fire ant when I lay down the other night to do my leg exercises? Fortunately it was a little one so it didnt hurt much. Now I lay a blanket down when I exercise! Also I am happy because a shirt I am selling on e-bay is now up to $70! I thought I would get maybe $10 for it! Cuppa: great job--you are now 7/7--sounds like a great plan. That is a wonderful goal for your anniversary! We're all rooting for you! Luxor: good to hear from you--I missed you! Great job on your 13/15--and what an excellent recovery! Keeping active this summer could also keep your attention away from eating too. It might help to have some legal treats that you are allowed to have--sometimes just getting a mineral water will make me feel like I got something special. My fave is a sugar free, nonfat, decaf, cinnamon dolce latter at starbucks. Kt: all that exercise must be helping. I suggest logging on daily and setting little mini goals for each day. Also list at least one reason every day for wanting to lose. My and Jenney: :welcome: the more the merrier! This is a great bunch--very friendly and chock full of wisdom! Remember to check on on Mondays with total weight lost since begining challenge! Lekhika: I know what it feels like to be lethargic after being sick. It can take me a while to recover. But remember that exercise helps the immune system so maybe even a little walk would help you. Great job on fitting into the clothes--I have been buying some jeans a size smaller to motivate myself--gotta stop! 60jay: will lose 20 lbs by Labor day saboteur: will lose 25 lbs by Labor day cuppa: will lose 12 lbs by Labor day chelskell will lose 25 lbs by Labor day Eevey will lose 17 lbs by Labor day Edzard will lose 15 lbs by Labor day Mesilla will lose 25 lbs by Labor day Chunkybanana: will lose 18 lbs by Labor day Jbaby: will lose 25 lbs by Labor Day Flow: will lose 30 lbs by Labor Day Sockmonkey: will lose 27 lbs by Labor day--2 down 25 to go! I'm shrinking!!!
Today has been totally busy, but I just had to come on and share this with you!
First off, I have been sticking with my plan and I am 14/16 and as long as I get the taco makings put away the next time I'm in the kitchen I will make it to 15/17 :p Anyway, this morning at church, one of my friends came up and said "you are just shrinking!" who? me??? LOL I still feel big, but I guess it's showing to other people. Before now, all the people who have said anything to me about my weight loss have been people who knew I was working on it. This lady didn't (unless she heard it thru the grapevine LOL ;) ) Anyway, she asked how I was doing it and I broke my plan down for her and told her about this site and FitDay and how it has totally make this whole thing do-able. Just made me feel really good! Today was a bit of a challenge because my hubby came home early from out of town, so we went out to lunch & then my dad wanted tacos for dinner :D But I did my infamous calorie juggling with fitday and worked it out. It was cool, I only had one taco! (and most of the filling was plain ol lettuce :D ) AND my dad had 3 tacos! :D I told him I'd make tacos every night for dinner if he'll eat 3! LOL he needs to pack on some more weight before his next chemo on Thurs. ok, I need to go put food away to save myself from it ;) I'm hoping that the scale is kind to me tomorrow, I had a bit more salt tonight than I usually do, so I'm hoping I don't end up higher because of that :p Well, I shall find out in the morning. |
