Back after a big break

I haven't been on 3FC for ages.. I decided to stop dieting and work on the underlying reasons for my compulsive eating this year. I have been using the Overcoming Overeating program and have been feeling far more in control of my eating than I have for many years.

I have decided however to go and do a medically supervised weight clinic... sort of sounds counter intuitive after deciding not to diet anymore... but I just haven't been feeling that healthy and for the first time ever the desire for weight loss was a genuine health issue and not because I wanted to be a *better* or *different* me.

So while I go and see a dietician each week - I really feel like I need some additional support and 3FC has always been such a supportive board... I had my first binge this weekend for about 3 months and realised tonight that I am way from cured.. my healthier than I have ever been about eating but in need of some support that gets it.

So I look forward to getting reacquainted with everyone :smug:

Well... today I had to cancel my program with the weight management clinic. My husband and I are separating and I just can't afford it as the program is really expensive.

I feel kinda odd about the whole thing... but interestingly I don't want this upheaval to side track my eating - I have just worked so hard over the past few months to be semi ok with food.

callystia 11-15-2006 07:08 PM

Gosh, Marianna, I'm so sorry to hear about your separation. :(

But how wonderful, that you're not letting it distract you from doing what's best for your health! That is a hugely positive attitude to have, and I salute you for it.

Oh, Marianna, I'm so sorry about the separation.
But as Cally said, it's great that you're continuing to look out for what is best for you. Hang in there, sweetie.

Thanks to you both.. I appreciate the kind words

I'm sorry Marianna. A divorce/separation must be a very stressful and heart-rending thing. I'm glad that you're not going to allow it to side-track your health and goals. Please come to me for any support and encouragement that you need! You can PM or e-mail me at any time!

Thanks Phoenix.. that is a very generous offer... I am actually watching Harry Potter at the moment too :) I am feeling ok... my eating isn't superb.. lets just say I am treating myself.. but no binges.. so hooray for that... there is more than my weight to be concerned with at the moment.
