Very Discouraged!

I gained a lot of weight during my pregnancy which I am now trying desperately to get rid of. I've been receiving food from a diet delivery service but I cannot seem to go one day with just eating only what they have provided. I add little healthy protein snacks and stuff, though the extras still add up to a lot less than I am used to eating (even when I weighed 128). So I'm either hungry or have the munchies almost constantly. I've been closely tracking my calories on fitday and find I've been hovering around 1800 calories per day. I've been very conscientious about what I've been eating for the past 3 weeks, but no weightloss. Yes, I have gone back to lifting weights and since I've been doing this for over a decade, I put the muscle back on very quickly..so some of this could be muscle. But still, I used to weigh 30 pounds less and have this same muscle, so clearly I'm not really progressing much. Plus, the pants really aren't any looser. WHAT AM I GOING TO DO? I'm starting to think of asking my OB to prescribe Meridia or Phenermine to get some control over my appetite (which at 1800 calories isn't huge but can't seem to go lower than that). Any suggestions or words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated :( . Best of luck to you on your weightloss :) .

How old is your baby?

Just hang with us for a bit. We'll have a shot at this without chemical intervention, OK?

hey ma

I know how it is after you give birth and just cant seem to get it together but you will. Just give yourself a bit of time and you will definitely see results. You may have hit a plateau and may need to increase your cardio or change it up maybe something intense like Tae Bo or Turbo Jam or something like those. Or you may just need to add more time to the cardio. Best wishes and dont be too discouraged just try to give those ideas a go!

I think that 1800 calories seems pretty reasonable with being a recent mamma - it is pretty big work chasing around after little ones. Perhaps as Caramelmami suggests and get some extra cardio in.. and slower weightloss while frustrating may just be more sustainable and make you fee less deprived :D

are you breastfeeding?
i read somewhere that it can affect your appetite & need for more calories.
