I hate pictures, i never look right no matter how big or small i am. It always looks like I'm making a face or something. I'll look in the mirror and be like oh i look ok and try to do the same thing on camera and i'm like ok what the **** happened. But then again even when people say the picture looks beautiful i still thinks it's ugly. Gotta work on that.

I actually jumped on my bike and excercised. It won't do me any good to eat. I'll end up back in the cycle that causes the depression that leads to bingeing that leads to more depression that leads to more bingeing that leads to more depression. Mammasita.... that is exactly how I feel... I keep saying "that ain't me... that cannot be me" and I feel so embarred by my looks that I keep asking myself how other people can stand being seen with me in public....
However, we are changing back to being normal.... one step at a time...

Ellis,

Love the short fat dumpy, middle aged woman thing. I have actually seen my reflection in windows etc. and thought ... she needs to loose some weight, change her outfit, ....she looks familiar UH DUH it was me . Mortifyin!! I am also freaking a bit these days cause I just turned 40. This weight has got to go. It is going but I want it off now!

Cheers! Rowan

Coming out of lurkerdom to throw my two cents in....I am a fiend when it comes to having a picture taken...either DON'T or give me a second to "fix" myself (ie positioning, camoflaging, etc)

Hi, Ellis! I had to laugh out loud at your 'dumpy middle aged woman' comment! Apparently I have one of them lurking inside of me too!

On a similar note, I was even freaked out by my shadow the other day! DH and I were playing golf. (He plays, I'm learning) It was very disconcerting to try to set up my shot (or whatever you call it) when there was this HUGE shadow on the ground in front of me! :o :fr:

So good to share this with those who understand!

*Raises hand* yup yup yup! We went to NYC last week and I actually asked my sister in law to take a pic of the old man and me(something I NEVER do), thinking well, I've lost weight, I feel better, my shape has changed some, let's see how this goes, and as soon as we loaded the pics onto the comp I went for that one pic of myself and OH MY GOOOOODNESS I still look awfully big!!!! Probably didn't help that I was standing oddly (leaning toward hubby sorta) and my boobs are crookwards!!!

Talk about a downer. I mean, I knew I wasn't a supermodel, but sheesh...

It can be distressing, but I guess that's not how we look all the time. I've seen pics of stars in those gossip mags and I think 'wow...THAT was voted most gorgeous'? or something equally mean...lol. Cameras are sometimes not our friends!

I hate pics too. Infact hub and I agreed that after our wedding pics there would be no more until we have children. lol. So I have my wedding pictures displayed and that is about it for me! lol.

I will never forget when I had what Oprah calls an "aha moment". My parents came up when we lived in upstate NY for a visit. We took them to Niagra Falls. Of course my mom had her camera and wanted a pic of hub and me and one of my step dad, her and me. I will never ever forget when I saw those pictures! That was my "AHA moment". It was "AHA!!!!!!! I'm a COW!!!!!" moment! Before that I was in total and complete denial! I saw those pics and I was like OMGGGGGG! I am never going out in public again!!!!!!!!! :yikes:

Now after we lost my step father to cancer I now cherish those photos because it represents something more, time spent with a wonderful man who we all miss very much. But I am still not showing them to anybody! lolllll.

Thanks for sharing ladies!

Kat, I've missed you, sweetie! I'm glad you're at least lurking, and I hope you'll pop in at least once in awhile.

I LOVE reading all your stories, girls. They make me feel so much better. Not so alone.
