Weekly Chat - July 18th - 24th

Good Afternoon,

Gotta make this short, boss man is here today.

Melissa, please go back to last week's weekly thread...... silly girl. I felt bad that you thought I would say something like that about you :(

Ellis chicken little, do I HAVE to exercise today LOL ;)

Catch you all later :grouphug:

ellis 07-18-2005 03:37 PM

Oh, lordy. I always forget it's a new week, Leenie. I'll close the other thread in a wee bit.

I've been OP for 1 1/2 days, but I just screwed up with a bag of lime Tostidos. DAMN!!!

sherpamelissa 07-18-2005 07:27 PM

You big goof Leenie! I was reading 3FC with a bag of Doritos and a Diet Pepsi! :o At that same time you were posting, that is why I said Scary! I do appreciate the faith you have in me. I wish I could exercise off all my bad food choices, but I really need to make better food choices.

I am having a chip problem this week. I never eat them but the salty/sweet thing is really getting to me with my period this week. I am also having Tostitos with my Chicken Enchilada Casserole right now. I have only had about 1.5 servings. I will try to stop RIGHT NOW!

ellis 07-18-2005 07:29 PM

Stop, Melissa!!! :drill:

sherpamelissa 07-18-2005 07:46 PM

Thank you! I put the casserole away in the fridge and the chips back in the pantry. I think I will go up and brush my teeth now to get rid of the taste.

Leenie 07-19-2005 03:16 PM

:lol3: Melissa (scary is right).

I have such a hard time resisting potato chips, okay well any chip for that matter. I try like heck not to go down that isle when I'm shopping. Even with the best intentions, like buying baked ones, I can scarf down the entire bag. I just love the full greasy ones that are cut really thick and salty... YUM.

Melissa, when I lost 150 lbs, one thing that kept me on track was that I ate a portion of salty pretzles and I would dip them in one of those little servings of chocolate pudding (kinda like a chocolate covered pretzle). Your probably going EEEW but if you love the salty / sweet combo, you'll love this.

Ellis, Monday I was sooooooooo good on my diet, then about 12 midnight I got up and ate a few spoonfulls of pnutbutter (OH THE SHAME!!!) I don't mean itty bitty, I mean shovel size :( of course I had cramps b/c pnuts don't agree w/me if I eat to many and bucket loads of pnutbutter really doesn't agree with me. GANDUMIT!!! why does it have to taste so good. I was good yesterday :D sigh.

Leenie 07-20-2005 08:47 AM

Good Morning Chicklets,

Boss isn't in yet so I thought...... 3FC, 3FC, 3FC.....gotta get there and say hi to all my beautiful pen pals :D

Whats rockin with you all ?

ellis 07-20-2005 09:07 AM

Good morning!

Well, I think I've eaten all the chips in the house. I'm going to have some yogurt, berries and granola for breakfast. If I can get off my stool, here.
And coffee... must get some coffee...

sherpamelissa 07-20-2005 10:47 AM

Good morning! It is my birthday today! :gift: I am patiently sitting at my mom's office waiting for her to arrive so we can go off on a day of shopping (without my 3 year old!).

I have hit the gym and had a good breakfast but I have some splurge plans for the day. We are going to California Pizza Kitchen for lunch and I want the Chicken Caesar Sandwich. :eating2: I also picked up some lasagna from my favorite Italian deli. I might save that, though.

Have a great day!

ellis 07-20-2005 10:54 AM

Happy Birthday, sweet Melissa!!
:balloons: :hb: :gift: :balloons:
I hope you have a wonderful day! :grouphug: Enjoy your splurge!! ;)

sherpamelissa 07-20-2005 11:47 PM

Aw, thanks Ellis. I will have more to report tomorrow, but the most exciting thing that happened today was....

I fit in a friggin' size 10 Petite! I couldn't even believe it! I picked up the pants in a 14P but they were too big and they didn't have a 12. I figured if the 10's were tight but would go on I would get them because they were on clearance and I knew I'd get these eventually. BUT THEY FIT!

:cb:  :dancer:

Leenie 07-21-2005 08:16 AM

OH HAPPY BIRTHDAY MELISSA AND A SIZE 10 TO BOOT !!! WHAT A BIRTHDAY GIFT YAHOOOO!

Hope it was a great one :)

Hey, I have a 3 year old too

So how's everyone today?
Boss is here so when he leaves, I'll come back (BBL)

Hugs

Leenie 07-21-2005 08:18 AM

Thanks so much for the GIANT birthday wishes! It really is weird how hard it is to get used to being smaller. I kept picking up stuff that was way too big for me. It used to be the other way around.

We went to California Pizza Kitchen for lunch. I had the Chicken Caesar Sandwich and my mom got the Rosemary Chicken Sandwich. We split them and had some of each. We shopped so much I didn't get to eat my lasagna so I will have it tonight. :) Then I had birthday cake with my MIL and my daughter. After everyone was in bed I had too much ice cream. But without eating dinner and my usual snacks I really didn't go over my normal 1300 calories. Yay!

I couldn't sleep last night, too much coffee I think. So I skipped the gym this morning, but will bike at lunch.

This is my darling daughter. She already loves makeup and shopping. I am in big trouble!

ellis 07-21-2005 10:43 AM

Geez, Leenie. Even on her birthday she does well!

Melissa, your daughter is BEAUTIFUL! What a sweetheart. :)
Congratulations on the size 10... I'm so happy for you, hon!! :hat:

I'm just going to report on my exercise...

00QTGrl00 07-21-2005 02:02 PM

hey - i was wondering if anyone knew when and what its appropriate to eat after a workout - lets say a run/walk?

I talk to guys who train and some say i should just have a banana - others say i should eat like whole wheat toast with PB a glass of milk and an apple...
i'm not looking to "train" persay and build mass - just lose weight...

This morning I woke up late, (cuz i'm off from work), went to the park around 10:30 and stayed an hour..then waited like 1/2 hour and ate a light whole wheat english muffin with an egg (cooked in Pam non-fat cooking spray) and a slice of fat-free kraft single...
On WW that is only 4 points! and it is soo good...but is that good for after a workout?

I would ask the ladies on the Exercise board, I just know they will know this one.

When I used to power walk (5 miles in 1 hr) I would go home and eat my regular dinner which included a bucket load of veggies, no bread though. I think if your lifting weights its different than a run/walk.

sherpamelissa 07-21-2005 04:07 PM

Just wait until Saturday ladies. Dinner and ballgame with the hubby. I keep looking at their menu and trying to plan something that will be worthy of a splurge :hun: but still leave room for the beer sampler! Plus, there will probably be dessert at the ball park.

ellis 07-21-2005 11:24 PM

I'll have the Brown Ale Chicken, the Asiago Cheese Dip, the Brewery Beer & Cheese Taster, the Grilled Portobello and Fontina Melt, and the Triple Chocolate Stout Cheesecake, please. Save me a place at table, please, Melissa. :D

sherpamelissa 07-22-2005 09:02 AM

Ellis, it would be awesome if you could join us!

I am thinking Ball Park Pretzels for starters and the Herb Lemon Chicken with Asparagus for dinner. (And beer, lots of beer!) I think we will have dessert at the ballpark. But the Asiago Cheese Dip looks yummy too!

Hubby took our daughter to the zoo yesterday and they weren't home when I got there. I had the brand new Harry Potter and an empty house. I couldn't figure out what to eat first! :(

I actually stood in front of the pantry trying to figure out what would be the best "binge" food that wouldn't cause much damage. I couldn't find anything, so I went to the fridge. I had 1/3 of a leftover sandwich from California Pizza Kitchen which I ate. Then I saw the donut holes on the counter I had bought, I ate 6. Then I came to my senses and got out a big bag of baby carrots and ate those while I read.

I only ate 1/2 of my incredible lasagna for dinner because I ate half the loaf of bread before I started. I should have skipped all the crap and enjoyed my lasagna more. :o

I only came out around 1600 calories for the day, but it was painful entering them into Fitday. I need to figure out how to be home alone. I thought I had conquered a lot of these binging problems, but I guess I only conquered some of them. ;)

Melissa, this is so PI, but I just ROARED when I read that. :lol3: I'm sorry, sweetie... I can so relate.
Good for you for (eventually) moving on to the carrots! :hat:
Don't stress over it, hon. Put it behind you, and yes, let's figure out some ways be alone without binging. :grouphug:

Leenie 07-22-2005 10:11 AM

Hey Girls,

Melissa, the only safe thing I noticed on that menu was the Grilled Chicken
Fresh tomato, red onions and crisp lettuce atop a perfectly grilled chicken breast. Served on a toasted multi-grain bun - of course you have to say NO FRIES. Some of the other things looked okay but they serve CHEDDAR POTATOES with it... LORDY !!!
GOOD LUCK !!! and mostly have fun ;) For some one who binged and only came out with 1600 for the day......... YOU ROCK !!!!!!! Bravo, great job !!!!!

Ellis, how are you feeling? I think this chick Melissa is keeping us on our toes, wouldn't you say?

Oh well back to work... TTYL

HUGS !!!

:lol3: Yeah, like she gives a hoot!

Leenie, I think that if you and I ate 1600 calories a day, we might turn into slender babes really quickly.
Melissa, we are SO happy for your success, and SO jealous!

Leenie 07-22-2005 03:52 PM

Very happy for her success. Its people like her that really give me hope :D

(Ellis the girl bikes 20,000 miles a day, she deserves cheddar potatoes ;) )
