Little Successes

Please post your little successes here! They add up! :cheer:

ellis 06-29-2005 07:19 AM

I gained 2 pounds the other day, and I KNOW it was because I haven't been drinking my water.
I've already downed three glasses this morning, and I'm going to stay hydrated! :hat:

sherpamelissa 06-29-2005 09:02 AM

I finally can wear both my wedding ring and engagement ring this week. They haven't fit in 4 years!

Leenie 06-30-2005 09:20 AM

Melissa, I haven't worn my ring in 4 years as well. CONGRATS TO YOU !!!!!
I hope to say the same some day soon lol.

Little successes....... I'm eating more veggies ;)

Congratulations, girls! :hat:

This may seem ridiculously small, but I started taking an iron supplement yesterday, plus an "energy booster" with bee pollen, ginseng, and wheat grass. I'm hoping it will perk me up a little.
And I'm wondering if I've become lactose intolerant. I've noticed that when I have ice cream, etc now, my stomach blows right up, and I feel TERRIBLE.
If only there was such a thing as Dorito intolerance...

Hi! I'm new to this site and absolutely love what I've seen so far!
I am also very happy to report that I've been going to the gym twice every week for the past month, and have also been good with my food intake.

ellis 07-08-2005 10:17 AM

Coffie, welcome!! It's great to have you here! :grouphug:

Today I ran 5 miles. First 1 mile, then took a break, then another mile, then took a break. Then I ran 3 miles all at once! I haven't ran that far all at once since like....like....junior high!!! God definitely sent some angels to carry me.

ellis 07-16-2005 07:36 AM

RedRaider, that is wonderful! :cheer: :cheer:
I love your "yoda quote".

Okay, I want to know how old you are now :D

So, about four years ago I lost around 80lbs. The crowning achievement to that loss was a fantastic dress I got to wear to a wedding. I have had that dress hanging in my bedroom to motivate me. Last time I lost I never fit in a size 10, since I am starting to fit in them I figured I would try on the dress. IT WAS TOO BIG! I am still about 6lbs higher than my all time low weight, but I didn't strength train last time, so I think I am actually smaller now than I was before.

:jig: :jig: :jig:

Melissa, I'm so happy for you, sweetie!! :grouphug: I remember 163 very well. I'm hoping to "join you" soon. :) Keep it up, girl!! :cheer:

This is a little success but one worth mentioning. I have been good one week (Low Carb) and I'm down almost 5 pounds. It wasn't easy having cake, ice cream, brownies, mac & cheese, bread, candy, etc in front of me almost daily. It is very hard for me to say no, but I've done it.

I don't remember the last time I was good for a week doing anything. My goal is 66 more days of being good with an exception for one meal (my honey's birthday dinner).

Keep your fingers crossed for me.

Hi everyone. My little success is that since the beggining of last week, when I have work or school in the morning, I have been waking up early to do my cardio so that way I won't make any excuses later in the day!

This is a huge success by my standards, Stephanie! Way to go girl ;)

My little success is the fact that I have managed to set time aside for myself to exercise 5 days a week for the passed 6 weeks while raising an 18 month old  Who woulda thought you could actually take care of yourself while taking care of a family?? LOL!

LockItUp 08-23-2005 11:48 PM

Melanie, thank you, and wow what a success of your own. I can barely take care of my goldfish and manage to do anything else!!! Keep goin'!

sherpamelissa 08-24-2005 08:34 AM

LC, Mel, Stephanie - Way to go! :cb:

It is weird that this thread got revived because I was just thinking I had something to post. When I was still way too heavy I would barely be able to breathe after carrying my three year old up our seven stairs. Yesterday, I *ran* up them and wasn't even out of breath!

Stephanie - You are too much - you crack me up  ! Hey, before I had a baby, I could never get into an exercise routine or wake up early before work for that matter, so I think you are doing great, even if you only have goldfish - ha ha ;) I think the motivation factor is really what it boils down to, whether you have kids or not! So, keep up the motivation!! :strong:

Melissa - Thanks for the encouragement! Great job on the stairs! :bravo: Isn't it amazing what less weight can do for your cardiovascular system?

I had a small success this evening! I actually let myself get too hungry, which I have been careful not to do because that's when I usually just eat like crap. But I got home from my 4 hour Biology marathon: lecture followed directly by the lab, there was pizza for dinner (AHHHHHHHH), but I bypassed it and made a sensible chicken and veggie soft taco on a whole wheat tortilla with some yummy cheese sause (everything carefully measured). WOO HOO, I do have self control!

Melanie, I think that you and I would get along famously!

Way to go everyone! I love this thread, I think it's great to give ourselves and eachother credit for the little things, because isn't it just the little things that count the most!!!

Meldiggety 08-25-2005 01:08 AM

Stephanie - Way to go girl!! :high: I had almost the exact same thing for lunch today - LOL! We should chat more often, I agree that we would get along. You should check out my buddy board; http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=62079 OR PM me sometime
