Why I talk about God
 

I have to remind myself this is not just an OA forum.

The concept of a Higher Power is important in OA, and I call my HP "God". If you're having a problem with it I hope you'll e-mail me.

I'm not trying to suggest that my way is the only way or that I think everyone else should talk/think about God as much as I do. It's just that He's central to my program.

I hope I haven't offended. If I get a PM I'll find another way to say things. I know how counterproductive it is to get your buttons pushed.

Cacky, I do know some people who just aren't interested in using OA because they think it's "God related".
I agree with you... a Higher Power is whatever you make it. :yes: I don't think it's anyone else's business who or what that power is... it's YOUR Power.
I also use the word God, and I don't think any of us here should be afraid to say who you are or where you're at. We're not trying to convert anyone. We're just trying to get closer to who we are.

We have another forum here called Alternachicks, and we've had all kinds of different religions there. I'm fascinated by other people's religious views, and as long as they're not slamming mine, I'm more than fine with theirs. :)

I think it's touching that you'd be concerned about offending others... you're such a caring person, Cacky. :grouphug:
I think that Suzanne, Jennifer and Amy would agree with me that this site is about being nurturing and caring and supportive of others. And being non-judgemental.

You have nothing to worry about, sweet Cacky. You chat away about God as much as you please, and I'll do the same. :)
