Hello out there! How are you wonderful ladies this fine morning? Sleep well? Feeling serene?
Don't tell anyone, but it looks like we may be able to get in a full week of school here! Shhh...there's a slight (40%) chance of some snow tonight and tomorrow morning, but I am having faith that it will amount to nil. :crossed: I need some prayers that I will have a successful program day. I've gotten sloppy with food plan and step work over the past several days, and I know where that can lead if I don't put on the brakes. I really need to give it to God and leave it there. I don't know why this is suddenly so difficult for me! Control freak Christy, I guess. Anyway, here's to a calm and productive day at work, school, and home for all of us! Blessings, Christy |
Hello everyone!
My weekend was very mellow (and cheap hehehe!)... I worked Saturday morning, for 3 and a half hours, then went grocery shopping. I loaded up on appealing lunch foods: chicken soup and turkey chili, 7 cans of each, and low-fat Wheat Thins :) For some reason, I hate eating cold sandwiches in winter. Maybe it's because I'm usually already cold at work and eating cold food on top of that is just too much to handle  Anybody else like this? Rented a couple movies on Friday: American Splendour, & The Swimming Pool. Really liked American Splendour, about the comic book writer Harvey Pekar... Swimming Pool was a bit too slow for me, even though it was a murder mystery thriller. Sunday just balanced my checkbook, after a LONG delay (last done in early December) and found out I forgot to record 2 entries that totalled about $66, leading to a bounced check 4 days ago! :o ARGH! $15 bank fee, grumble grumble. At least the grocery store did not add on their own fee... I'm usually really good about money, but lately I have been lazy about sitting down and keeping track of what's going out. That's going to stop! :drill: Bad Sarah, bad! Then got 5 loads of laundry done... ate mostly healthy all weekend, except for going a bit over the top on cinnamon and sugar toast Saturday, 4 slices worth ;) No more bread is coming in here once this loaf is gone... I just have to get it through my head that I am a Carb Addict! :nono: Glad to hear from everyone... :D Ellis -- glad to hear you are on some good meds now! Telling the kids to clean their rooms is not a sign of going over the edge, I don't think! ;) Miss Chris -- WOW, you certainly have lost! Yeah! Your face is totally different now... I love your dress too, looks kind of medieval, with the red and black velvet. And your hubby looks very stylin' in his Asian print silky shirt :) On the teen "ho" look -- GROSS. I saw "Thirteen" recently too, and I've seen young girls around here in painted-on jeans that are real-l-l-y low, or hot pants with words on the butt combined with cropped tank tops. Heck, I've even seen tiny girl mini-skirt dresses in Filene's, for like 5 year olds, in black velvet, with tiger stripes running across the chest and around the waist. What parents must be thinking... companies too. I'm all for school uniforms! It's crazy how much clothing can define a child in school, for bad or good. Not that this would stop all teasing or bullying, but whatever helps... Ok, off to the shower and a long 9.5 hour workday! :P Have a good one everyone! :) |
Hi girls!
Christy, saying prayers for you today. You can do this!! :grouphug: Ummm... re: the snow. Do you live on a honkin' MOUNTAIN, or WHAT!? Sarah, we've missed you! Wow, what a busy weekend you had. Yes, get rid of the bread, girl! Gotta run... going to see my psychiatrist. I'm getting my new prescription... I'm going to be whole new Ellis! Oh, and I'm going to mail cards... back later... love to Chris, Jennelle, Kat and everyone! :grouphug: |
Morning ladies!
Off to work, just checking in. I'm going to workout before signing on after work (the interet zaps my time too mjuch :) ). But I'll check in afterwards! Have a great day! |
Hi all....
Went over our practice state test results today...pretty damn depressing. *Sigh* When will parents realize that we can't do it all by ourselves? Damn, take your kid to the library once in a while. Make 'em turn off the :censored: TV set. Take them to the Children's Museum. Read them a book. Play a game of Scrabble with them. I talked to my sponsor a few minutes ago re: my food plan. It's working well, but I've decided that if I'm going to eat a snack for the day, it HAS to be before dinnertime. I have decided that "don't eat after dinner" is going to go on my abstinence list. Last night, I ate a snack about two hours after dinner and couldn't STOP thinking about food for the rest of the night. |
Hi everyone,
Where are you Miss Chris? Christy: I can so relate with you on the whole perfectionist thing (but not the snow  ). You're in my thoughts! Ellis: Good luck with the new meds! Sarah: Can you teach me to be good with money? I'm pretty medicore. Not bad but not as great as I should be. Jennelle: Sorry the test results were frustrating! Good for you for figuring out another trigger. My day was fine. I've been off the exercise band wagon for a week now and really want to get back on. I wish I was more consistent in that area (I do great then a week goes by, etc...). Obviously I need to talk to HP about it! Have a great evening. |
Good Evening!
Hello Everyone! :grouphug:
I have tommorow off and Wed, and Thurs :dancer: Its the only thing making me happy about being here tonight :^: My weekend was a blur of Resident Evil Zero, oh well I got some rest :D Jenelle- I also think the parents need to talk to them, my son's vocabulary and comprehension of the world is so much better just because we talk to him not just other kids. He went to a babysitting certification class tonight, like he needs a job to add to his life  As far as the food I got that too, after my last meal of the day, no going into the kitchen  Kat- How was your day! I love the Step 2 thread. Finding about the relationship you have to bring you to sanity. :bravo: Ellis- I have everyone's card mailed but yours, I need one more stamp to make it to Canada :D so first thing in the morning. Did you get your other card yet? I mailed it awhile back :p Sarah- Your not alone girl, I get that way with my checkbook. I always consider it a reflection of Step 1 and my unmanageable life. I like warm food in winter too, but I need a salad from time to time. And :thanks: I feel better than I have in a long time. Christy- Meet your sister control freak I find these words very helpful "Thy will be done" say them as many times as you need to, to make it true. :grouphug: How was your day! Love you all! Miss Chris :queen: |
Hi. I'd like to jump in with you guys. I have some general questions, and don't know the right place to ask them. Here they are:
1. How is abstinence defined for OA? 2. Could you give me some guidance on food plan? I want to go over to the step part and write there, if I can find time tonight. Otherwise I will do it soon. And, maybe I'll introduce myself properly in tomorrow's thread! Angi |
Hi Angi!
Simply in OA Abstinance is defined as "to abstain from compulsive eating" you may interpet that and define your abstinance anyway that works for you.
As far as a food plan is concerned lets start slowly by attending on-line or local meetings, finding a sponsor, and then working on a food plan that includes elimination of personal trigger foods. We got no quick fix diet for you here Angi, but what we do have is love and understanding and the hope for recovery. Tommorow don't forget to tell everyone the story of your precious baby ;) WELCOME and Much love, Miss Chris |
