Well last night for me it was 2 glasses of wine and about 10 mini-reeses and 10 hershey kisses. I finally had to shout out the word "STOP!" to make myself stop. I need to put the left over halloween candy in the garage or something, I swear.

Why the garage? What's wrong with the garbage can?

I wasn't sure if the body gains incrementally less fat for larger binges, due to the body's inability to store so much fat at one time.

I've wondered about this myself. I know that when I have my planned 4,000-cal dinners once a month (after having eaten a regular breakfast and lunch), I seem to drop the extra weight (which should be a pound of fat, according to the numbers) after 4 or 5 days of eating just slightly under my maintenance levels -- perhaps 1,700 cals instead of my usual 2,000 cals. Going by the numbers it should take longer.

I have what I like to call "mini binges" which are in between 1000 - 3,000 calories. Then there's "major binges" which go over 3,000 calories. I wouldn't count a large 1,000 calorie meal a binge though.

LOL- good point. I was thinking about the guys in the house who would freak if they knew I tossed all the chocolate.

I actually have no idea. Eating foods that have easy-to-access nutrition/calorie information usually stops me from binging ... consequently, when I do binge, it's off of food I can't really add the calories of. I figure around 3,000-4,000 though?!

Hmm, I've never really counted but I'd put it in the region of 3,000 - 5,000 per binge. I only ever really have planned binges (I go to the supermarket to buy food since I don't keep anything bad in the house) and I can easily eat a big bag of crisps, one of those half-size french baguettes, a 6 pack of croissants, a large chocolate bar and then a big plate of pasta and cheese sauce for tea. Actually, maybe it's over 5,000! Eek!

I've also been too afraid to count my binge calories. Usually I will log all my food into a food log, and then get terribly discouraged and quit everything - diet, workout, positive attitude.

It's good to see how many calories a typical binge can be. I've honestly never thought about it before, so I applaud you who have been brave enough to calculate your binges.
