Rewarding yourself without killing your progress.
My body cannot handle carbs. I had a week where I ate my favorite bread and pasta and I gained 10 pounds. -_- The routine im following is exclusion of anything involving baked goods, pasta, rice. Starchy foods also give me weight gain. I stopped eating butter, I would cook everything with butter it became out of control. Offcourse soda, junk and processed food. I stick to lean meats like chicken, fish and I would boil 2 eggs if I didn't want to prepare anything for the day.
But we all have cravings, we all want that chocolate bar, or a piece of that cake or that new steak shrimp with parm over some sauce and pasta thing. What I do is I treat myself every weekend. In an emergency scenario like a birthday or a big family dinner I would give you this advice. If your gonna eat something you know will be bad for your progress eat it on the third day. Meaning plan it in a way where you stick to your diet and exercise two days before your endulging meal. That way you will burn off the extra calories 2 days before the meal. Then you had your meal and get back to your routine for 2 more days before your next that way you burn off what you just ate. So 2 days on and one day off, 2 days on and one day off. |
Interesting advice. My body cannot handle carbs either but it cannot handle low fat, I soon feel ill, my skin gets dry and I start losing my hair. I often struggle to get enough fat to keep my ratio's where they need to be. I have found that extra butter and meat fats help me get there. I don't break my diet with any cheats of any kind. So I tip my hat to you for having found something that works for you!
