KYMommy, you didn't ruin your diet and you are definitely not a failure! When you make a mistake or fall of the wagon, you have to dust yourself off and get right back up. Each mistake can be turned into an opportunity to learn something new and evolve. The same goes with dieting and fitness: so you’ve exceeded you daily calorie allowance. It’s not the end of the world, the only way to overcome failure is to view it as an entry point for learning.

Stay strong, you can do this! *hugs*

I feel your pain, I would do that with ice cream bars. I love them but binge on them. I usually lose my mind and GET MAD at my child or my SO, and dig in without realizing it. Big hugs. Remember these calories will add up to another lb on your body if you don't seize control over your behavior.

if you want you can post in the binge accountability thread I started. I think alot of us NEED accountability for EXACTLY what we are eating.

did you eat a whole pack of weiners? How many calories was it? How do you feel about gaining weight from that?

I've been there! One thing that helps for me is to keep a food log and write down everything I eat BEFORE I eat it. If I really still want to eat that package of 6 cheese weiners, i do it, but only after being accountable to myself and being honest with myself about what it's going to do for my calories for the day.

Remember, it's not about 1 day. It's about stringing together more good days than bad. Try not to be hard on yourself. Just pick up and move on and commit to making better choices moving forward! Blaming yourself will only make you feel bad and overeat!

It's probably too late but my advice is to not weigh yourself the next day. A week is more what you should be looking at. Over a week, one meal isn't going to make a difference. It's not a failure if you go off plan. It's a failure if you stay off. It's always a win when you get back up. You are a winner, keep fighting.

Agreed. When I struggled with binge eating I had other issues with food, so I pretty much only had veggies in my house...I binged on them too, but they didn't affect my weight as much as my self-esteem.

For the time being, maybe the best thing is to not have junk food readily available. I'll add that I was able to get over the binge eating once I ate enough calories throughout my day. I did that by planning ahead.

Good luck!

I bought the weiners because I love them, and I thought since they aren't THAT bad in the calorie and carb area (IF I eat only 1 or 2) I could eat them when I need something to calm me down if I'm craving fattening food. But, it didn't work out too good, because instead of eating 1 or 2, I ate 5!
I'm back on the wagon again, hoping that this weight I've gained is only water weight. I'm hitting the crystal light, and the exercise bike hard today!
