Binge unintentionally averted...
Thus far in May I've been binge-free; however, yesterday at the end of the workday a s**tstorm erupted, with me in the middle. Completely stressed out, I headed for the nearest candy counter (working in a university, there are PLENTY of those). I purchased the BIGGEST box of Reese's Pieces I could find (you know, the ones that could double as a life raft), left the building, ripped them open...
...and tripped. OH, THE HUMANITY!! Reese's Pieces littered the ground like tiny, delicious candy casualties. Shocked, I picked up the box, and dumped the remaining 2 into my hand. Then I popped them into my mouth. And you know what? I wasn't even a little bit sad. In fact, I started to laugh. I'd inadvertently avoided consuming several hundred calories of candy, still gotten my little bit of sweet, and broken the stress all in one fell swoop. I don't believe in karma or fate, but a happy coincidence is happy nonetheless. ;) |
Hahaha! Omg, it's fate! Something did not want you to have that candy!
Seriously, though, what an awesomely-timed coincidence. :) |
:lol3: best laugh of the day, thanks!! :D
|
haha, that's awesome!
|
Thank you for the laugh!!
|
That's a great story!
|
i absolutely love this! looks like you were destined to lose!
|
Thanks, everyone! While I hate to see the magical peanut butter & chocolate combination go to waste... well, as they say, better there than on my waist. ;)
|
LOL! If it wasn't fate or karma; know this, the candy gods have spoken and there will be NO Reese's Pieces Therapy for you tonight!

i do this somewhat intentionally to avoid pigouts. it started when i bought a big box of candy, and i was driving around getting ready to eat it ALL. thought about it and threw all but 5 pieces out the window. (i know, littering is bad)
now when i am about to binge, i still cook a ton, get a big heaping plate, and dump most of it in the garbage. its a waste, but i still prepare to binge like once a week, and i dont even think about it until the food is on the plate and i look at it and realise what im doing. the fridge isnt an option, if i know its there i WILL eat it, and the garbage is better then my stomach i hope to get to the point where i dont have to do silly things like this to avoid overeating, but it isnt gonna happen overnight |
Try to learn why you want to binge, and work on the feelings that make you want food. I know my trigger is frustration --demanding job, no social life-- and when I feel the need to binge I know I need a break and stop working for awhile. See if that works for you too! Know thyself!
