I just had a similar victory when I was having a "hangover" day (I allow myself a guilt free cheat meal a week, and that week I decided to have 3 drinks at a celebration dinner) and while running errands I went past every single drive through place imaginable. I was sooo proud of myself for waiting until I got home and having a super healthy meal. :) It's the small victories of the everyday challenges that are going to get us to our goals. Congrats!!

Just saying no was only one part of the success. What really is key, is that you looked at the whole picture, made decisions based on your NEEDS at the time. Every situation or event is different, knowing that you can make choices base on what you need most at that time is what will carry you through to goal an beyond.

Great Job! I definitely have will power in certain situations, but then in others it goes out the window. I work at a Ben & Jerry's and I can resist ice cream all day, but in social situations I think I'm definitely bound to slip up quite a bit. Since the beginning of my journey, only a short time ago, I haven't really been out with friends much and when I am I tell myself I don't have the money to spend on food. I'm just scared when I do have the money and I can't tell myself that anymore. A day when those buffalo chicken tenders look too good to resist. And as you can see my mind is not quite rewired yet, ugh. I just keep telling myself to keep going and stay on plan because the results will be worth it!

Update Yesterday, I ended saving calories for a moderate indulgence while going out with my fiance and a friend. Well, it ended in an almost binge status failure. We ended up at a bar that had free food for a Mardi Gras celebration. A lot of chicken tenders later and a gain on the scale this morning, I feel awful and like I've failed.
I HATE BEING ADDICTED TO FOOD! |
Great - you are becoming stronger and doing things your way -that's the way to work it - go girl

Awesome job!! Congrats on making the right choice! And, it WILL get easier over time for you to be able to be around temptation without it really bothering you or you feeling like you need to give in. Good luck!!
