New Behavior for me
 

Had such a welcome epiphany this morning... I was preparing my "on plan breakfast" and realized midway through that on EVERY other day when I had dining out plans (New Year's Eve folks tonight), I had the mindset -well, I'm going to overeat tonight anyway so why not have the kind of breakfast I REALLY want -BUT NOT TODAY!!!

I have finally found a weight loss plan that doesn't make me feel deprived or craving (low carb) AND this wonderfully supportive website -and I realized that I've turned an important corner in my weight loss struggle.

The other amazing thing is-- although I'm going to a favorite restaurant tonight, I know that there are enough menu items for me to choose from that will permit me to have an enjoyable meal without overdoing it -and I'm no longer feeling that "woe is me" attitude -you know -the one where one whines to oneself -"why can't I eat what everyone else is eating -it's a holiday" I finally have come to grips with the fact that I CANNOT eat like everyone else AND lose weight -so my new way of eating is what has to continue to be the "new normal" for me.

Down 11 lbs. since Oct. - do I wish it was more? - sure - but I haven't been suffering and the alternative would have been awful --not only would I have kept on the 11 lbs. - I would have put on G-d knows how much more over the holidays!!

Low carb works for me too, and congrats on realizing that YOU do have the choice to progress to your goals or give in to impulses that set you back. It is always a choice and it always has consequences to the positive or the negative!
