I'm in! Food has become my coping mechanism in recent months. Time to deal with the daily stresses of life in healthier ways! Thanks for issuing the challenge.

Hi Ladies!

Day 1 for me. I was totally OFF PLAN Thurs - Sun. The junk is out of the house now, and the wt loss challenge @ my job is on, so hopefully I improve.

I'm just gonna say day 1 because I was kinda off during New Year's and I like the idea of having a fresh start on Monday.

Let's do this!

Default Day One

This is Day One in my One Day at a Time approach to eating. Food is my drug of choice and I've drugged myself to an all time high of 270 lbs. I can't even believe that number!!

I ate a healthy breakfast, packed snacks and lunch for work, left cash/debit card at home (no drive through option) and am sipping water. I have begun to investigate Overeaters Anonymous, including attending an online meeting.

I can do this!!

I am on day 4. Is it me-- or is it much easier to do when you are at work? why?

Michelle, you are right, you can do this.... Mine and your starting point (I believe) is about the same...... as well as our final goal. I did not know you could do OA online... I need to check that out.

Hey ladies! I haven't been on in forever and the scale is up 3 lbs from last week. I wonder if there is a correlation??? Since I started losing weight on 10/1/09, this is only the second time I have seen a gain in my weekly weigh-in. A few weeks ago I inexplicably gained 1 lb while on plan w/ my eating and exercise, but it was water weight and quickly went away. I am hoping most of the 3 lbs is water weight but I did a bit of off plan eating on New Year's Eve and have been eating closer to maintenance calories for the past few days. I have been hungrier than normal lately as well, but I know I can't use that as an excuse to eat more. Also, this was the weight I was at last year when I gave up and gained 25 lbs back. Things have changed this year. I am stronger and I know that I can and will finish what I started this time. The difference is that this time I am truly ready to change my life.

Well, it's time to nip the gain in the bud. I am aiming to lose at least 3 lbs this week to get back to 153. There has not been any bingeing, even though I have wanted to on at least 4 different occassions this past week. I hung on by the skin of my teeth. Working on Day 59 today.

I still miss my dog Zena every day but it is getting easier. Some people might think "But she was just a dog." You guys understood that she meant the world to me. You are all such a great group of people.

I have 2 physical goals for 2010--1) to reach my goal weight and 2) to run a half marathon. I got a book out of the library today to help me train for a half marathon and am going to be starting my training this week. There's a part of me that says I can't do it, I shouldn't say I'm going to do something that I can't do. I mean, run 13.1 miles? I haven't even run 2 miles without stopping to walk yet. But another part of me, one that has become more assertive lately as I've been losing weight, tells me that I can do anything I set my mind to, and telling all of you my goal will help to hold me to it. Also, I know that becoming a runner and training for a half marathon will help me reach my goal weight and keep me focused on becoming fit and athletic, not just skinny.

Hope everybody is doing well. I read everybody's comments but don't have time for personals today. I'll be back tomorrow. I need the daily accountability to be totally on plan this week.

So I didn't technically binge, but I definitely overindulged this break. I completely lost track of my days, so I'll just start at Day 1. Skyra, looks like we're back in the same place!

It does seem to be easier when we are at work!! I have a stash of healthy things (canned peaches, weight control oatmeal, low sodium soups) if get truly hungry but none of them are my trigger foods! (I wouldn't risk having a Jar of Skippy, loaf of sourdough bread with butter, or chocolate of any kind in my cubbie at work. Yikes!)
Thanks for the personal recognition to my post. Yes, we do appear to be neck in neck with start weight and goal weight. Nice to meet you!!

I was binge free today, btw. It's 9pm and I'm headed for bed. I stayed OP today. Yeah, me! Good luck with your goals!!
