I've been doing so well, I had a few temptations arise, but my son just celebrated his birthday and we still have cake. This is a major thing, as I have eaten 1/4 sheet cake all by myself before. I have eaten home made cakes all by myself before too.
So.....yesterday totally sucked. My son got sick with the flu at night on his birthday AFTER the party. He had a slight cough. The next day EVERYTHING. fever, sore throat, runny nose, muscle aches, head ache....so I treated him with my remedies and some Nyquil (dosed for his weight). Anyways....I had issues at school, issues with my SO, issues, issues, issues. Yesterday was my non low carb day. I found myself having a meal that consisted mostly of cake. 2 times yesterday.
However, I can totally pat myself on the back...because I wanted to keep eating the cake. And when I was going for another slice....my alert box popped up "why do you want another piece?" I had to be honest. It was soothing me. It was making me feel better. It was calming me. Those were all EMOTIONS. We do not eat for our emotions but for her physical well being. I realized my mistake. and put the lid back on.
do I feel like I binged? yes and no. Normally I would not eat 2 pieces of cake, but also...normally, I would not eat cake. If I binge on cake--it will be the whole cake. But my control felt shaky at best.

Thanks ladies. Well now the cake is gone. My son and I each had a piece after dinner.

Day 1 for me again. I have issues:
Went to my grandparents' for dinner. Had veggie burger, salad, and then they made me eat an oatmeal cookie.
So I was going to go home, eat nothing, and work out.
YEAH RIGHT then the evil twin took over: It was like I was in a trance, if someone was looking at my eyes they were probably spinning in my head. I drove to grocery store, got muffin mix, cake mix, and a can of pumpkin.
Ate some of the cake mix in the car. DRY.
Got home, made muffins, threw in some pumpkin to make them pumpkin muffins, scraped the batter and ate that, THEN ate 3 muffins.
Why I couldn't snap myself out of it while they were baking, I dont' know.
NO WONDER I tossed and turned most of the night and this morning look 16 weeks pregnant...

DogMomNP -
Back to day 1 for me as well. Blah. I was just too freaking tired, is the reason. Not an excuse, however, as I know I have the reserves to deal with it. I just didn't that time. I will next time.
Onward and downward! (scale wise that is)

Hi Chickies,
Had some mindless eating last night. Not a full out binge but mindless anyway.
So this is day 1 again.
Have a great day!

UH OH it is starting already.
Hubby wants pizza for dinner.
I cannot refuse if it's in the house, and I CANNOT just have one piece.
I know I'm making excuses. I tried to talk him out of it, and he was like "well we didn't have it last week for this reason."
(We used to have it once a week, no questions asked)

Hi! I'd like to join this thread. I used to post here last January. At that time I couldn't go more than three days without a binge. I just did one a couple days ago but it had been 23 days without one. Eating low carb has helped me and also not buying the trigger foods in the first place. So today is my second day binge free. One day at a time.

Starzmom-23 days, that's amazing! If you did that once, you can do it again +1 or more!
I'm on day 8.

DogMom - just say no to the pizza. If you don't feel like you can have it in the house without bingeing on it, then don't bring it into the house. Your husband can always have pizza out somewhere if he's craving it.
I fight my husband on this kind of stuff all the time and he's pretty much used to "never having anything good" and "never getting to eat out" now. By the way, he is naturally thin and only eats until he is full, never any more.

I know I can do it again! We both can do this. Day 8 is awesome. I got through day 2 and am on day 3 today.
And on pizza. My DH used to bring me pizza for a treat because I loved it. I also weighed 315 pounds. The only pizza in the house now is frozen and I make it for him sometimes. The portion I used to eat goes to the dogs. I am not able to eat any pizza and still lose weight. Not even 1 piece, if I could limit myself to that.
