NOT in control.
Totally not. I think I've near devoured everything that's worth eating in the house, I feel AWFUL now. I was doing good for a while, because I wasn't at home, but now I'm home and I just feel as if it's toxic? How can I stop this!?
|
Geez, I know what you are going through!! I really do. Probably the best thing to do is occupy yourself with something else. If that doesn't work, maybe call a friend. I'm going to bed if I start to overeat tonight.

Don't be home too much? I'm assuming you are living with parents and can't control what's in the house?

Go for a walk, get out an exercise DVD, do some crunches... brush your teeth. I find that I really don't want to mess up my nice fresh minty mouth with food.

Change the home environment! You need to de-binge it. Take out the foods completely. Diet books mention this every single time. It doesn't make any sense for an alcoholic to sit in a bar and chant "I'm not going to drink" over and over. Same as its not going to work with you to be constantly faced with triggers.
Sorry sweetie! Candice |
I have a HORRIBLE time at home and on the weekends when Im home all day. At work I have control, Im at my desk, and I have a set time to do stuff so Im not eating all the time. At home its horrible. Its like I cant stop! I know how you feel hun! I wish I had the answer but I do not. Wish I did for you and me both!

I totally know the feeling! That's what I was like the last few weeks of summer when I finished my job, the rest of my friends started school already, and I was stuck at home without much to do. Like the others mentioned, the best thing to do is keep yourself busy, and eat healthier foods so you're not consuming too many calories when you do eat. My game plan was eating a small snack (like between 100 - 300 calories) every two hours. It isn't too bad keeping yourself occupied for two hours, vs. trying to wait for the next time you eat at lunch or dinner. And also, I tried to eat slowly, and chose healthier things like grapes so I could eat more of it to get fuller. Good luck!

Oh this is the days when you can't control being at home. The feeling and the usual things you are doing. anyway, you can overcome this. Don't cheat. Think about the things that made you FAT in the first place. thats what we call the HOME. so you have either to fight it or be tempted. What is going to be?

i noticed i tend to do this when i am tired and for whatever reason can't go to sleep or nap--then i can't seem to control the need to feel full--even to the point of being uncomfortable
thank goodness it doesn't happen too often-but it does REALLY bother me and affects my weight loss when it does happen too frequently i try to get a sort of mantra in my head about switching my focus to a new 'safe' reward--new dress, shoes, etc. |
Good idea!
