Procrastinating, I SO agree about the binging of Kashi cereal--for me it's the GO Lean variety. I don't know what it is about the stuff--but yeah, POOF! It's gone. I think I read Rockin' Robin saying this very thing too.

I really love pizza so when my cravings are strong...I make Pita Pizzas...1 pita, 1/4 cup healthy choice chunky pasta sauce, peppers, fat free ham, mushrooms and 1 oz of cheese...so yummy. 100 calorie snacks work well when I have to have a treat. Also I have found that peppermint tea works well when I want something sweet. It is difficult when you know that 'junk' is in the house because others want to eat and you know you shouldn't. Now I just buy chips and cookies I know my husband like but I don't. Seems to be working lately.

I used to eat fast food for lunch a few times a week when my girl's playgroup would meet. Now we rarely eat fast food since we moved but they still love to go to Mcdonalds to play and have a happy meal.
Now I order 2 happy meals, one with fries and one with apples. The 3 of us share those 2 happy meals. this allows me and the girls to have it without overindulging and we all feel satisfied with what we had. I also love greek yogurt with fresh berries and a drizzle of honey on top. This is better than any icecream. Apple slices dipped in peanut butter is also really good. I heat up the peanut butter until it is liquid in consistency so it takes very little to give the apple a satisfying taste of PB. For bkfst we have whole grain pancakes made with flax and wheat germ. I shred an apple in the batter, add cinammon and nutmeg, a little bit of vanilla extract, and give a little dusting of powder sugar on them. They taste so good that syrup is not needed! Fruit smoothies are my husbands way of getting his dessert. We freeze fresh fruit and then blend with low fat yogurt, flax, and a small amt of veggies of his choice. Delicious and very satisfying! |
