The vicious cycle

  • Binge eat, good couple of weeks, binge eat, good couple of weeks.
It's not a lifestyle ,my diet ,it's precisely that A DIET.
From tomorrow I'm gunna change my lifestyle
I'm gunna hev things I fancy in moderation.
When I feel like a biscuit I'll have ONE and then close the biscuit tin and don't let my gluttonous side take over.
I will never let myself go out of control and I will change my eating habits and be healthier.
If I lose weight that's just an added bonus.
Along with excercise I can change myself.
I think I can do this.
  • I don't every really binge, but I get sloppy in my habits and experience scale creep. And I tell myself I will be better, then I fail and feel like crap. Then I do better because I feel a need to get a handle on things again and do I really well......right up until I don't. So I understand the cycle.

Have you read You: On a Diet? One of the most useful things I got from that book (and there were many) was the U-turn. The docs say you WILL make mistakes, you WILL screw up and you WILL get crazy with food sometimes. What you do is make a U-turn. Recognize what you are doing, turn it around and move on. The greatest part of the u-turn is to forgive and forget. Six pancakes for breakfast? Don't look back, look ahead.
