Default Really really fantastic book

Although this doesn't have to do with bingeing per se, I just sat down and read "If Buddha Came to Dinner" in one sitting. It was a really thought provoking book and hit home for me in a lot of ways. The premise is basically, if buddha came to dinner, what would you serve? Why? And why shouldn't you treat yourself with the same care love, and respect at every meal?
I came to this realization that maybe the root of my bingeing lies in punishing myself... stuffing myself is the worst thing that I can possibly think of doing. It kind of hit me that I don't treat myself very well... and if I treated myself with the same respect that I would someone that I really cared about, I would be a much happier person. It seems so simple, but I guess I had never really thought about it in that kind of light before.
I highly recommend this book!!

Great recommendation! I just read parts of "The Secret" and watched the Oprah shows about it. It has made me completely change my way of thinking. I was bingeing all the time and I haven't for about a week now since I read teh book. It's amazing and I feel great! Somehow it just clicked that I was never going to reach my goal of being a weight that I am comfortable with and I was sabotageing myself. It's pretty complicated but for some reason this book put everything into place and I really feel like I am on the right track now. Everyone should read this book. It is amazing!

That's a very good point!!! Before I recently started WW again, I would eat dinner and be full and yet reach for ice cream or something else bad for me. Why??? I know it's going to make me feel better and even though this sounds insane, my stomach feels better if I'm a little bit hungry, as opposed to being absolutely so stuffed I want to barf.
